Chapter 1 - Character Introduction

Salem Boudreaux

Owner of IronWard Security.

Blunt, analytical, and allergic to nonsense. Salem doesn't flirt — she observes, calculates, and calls things as she sees them. Every decision is deliberate, every word chosen with purpose. Her entire life runs on precision, and she has little patience for people who run on instinct or emotion.

But when the Crescent Moon Pack summons her to New Orleans to overhaul their security, she's forced to work with two Alphas who do exactly that. The Fontenot twins don't just unsettle her—they read her too easily, and that terrifies her more than she'll admit.

River Fontenot

Twin Alpha. Strategist. The calm before the storm.

River leads with quiet authority, every move controlled, every glance weighted with meaning. He's a planner by nature, the kind of Alpha who rules through respect rather than fear. Beneath his composed surface, though, lies a mind that sees too much — and when it comes to Salem, that perception cuts straight to the truth she tries to hide.

He doesn't want to dominate her. He wants to understand her — and that's far more dangerous.

Miles Fontenot

Twin Alpha. Fighter. Fire to River's calm.

Miles lives for the rush — of the open road, of the hunt, of the moment before everything explodes. He's loyal, impulsive, and completely disarmed by Salem Boudreaux, who meets his fire with an unshakable stare and a dry remark that leaves him speechless.

He's used to people reacting to his energy. Salem refuses to. And that only makes him burn hotter.

Beau Thibodeaux

Beta of the Crescent Moon Pack. The glue that keeps the Fontenot twins from tearing each other apart. Practical, level-headed, and a master mechanic, Beau's the kind of wolf who'd rather fix engines than politics — but his loyalty runs deep.

He doesn't trust outsiders easily, least of all a human woman poking around their systems, but Salem's precision and nerve earn his respect faster than he expects.

Rhea Marchand

Second-in-command at IronWard Security. Former Marine communications tech with a sharp mind and sharper tongue. She's fiercely protective of Salem — professionally and personally — and doesn't trust wolves after one of their contracts went sideways years ago.

Rhea runs IronWard's field team and has Salem's back without question, but she's also not afraid to challenge her boss when the Crescent Moon contract starts blurring too many lines.
