Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Genesis of the Fallen Empire

While Zeno handled Vorgas, Gaia wasn't just standing by. She stepped into the center of the Labyrinth, her emerald hair flowing like a river of life. With a single stomp of her bare foot, the black stone was overtaken by thick, white roots of the [World-Tree].

"Infestation," she whispered.

The roots didn't just grow; they hunted. Every remaining demon in the city and the Labyrinth was instantly entangled. The vines drained their dark mana, turning the monsters into harmless, decorative shrubs in seconds. Above ground, the Corrupted Nobles were physically rooted to the spot, their ill-gotten powers stripped away as the Royal Guard—now fully recovered—moved in to arrest them.

Sakura emerged from the Labyrinth, carrying the little girl he had saved. He looked at the Capital. It was a graveyard. Smoke rose from the ruins of the South Plaza, and the air was thick with the scent of ozone and grief.

'I didn't come here to be a spectator,' Sakura thought, his Omni-Eyes glowing with a soft, white brilliance. 'If I'm the Author, then this chapter isn't over until I say so.'

He stood at the highest point of the city and raised his hand toward the sky.

[Skill Activated: Narrative Revision — Eternal Sunrise]

A massive, crystalline magic circle—spanning the entire horizon—ignited over the Empire. The golden light was so bright it turned night into day.

The light descended like a warm rain. In the morgues, the streets, and the Labyrinth, the dead began to breathe again. Souls that had been pulled toward the Void were physically yanked back into their bodies. Wounds closed, missing limbs regrew, and the "dead" simply stood up, looking around in confusion.

Sakura felt the weight of their stolen time. He snapped his fingers. "Ten years," he whispered. A pulse of vitality hit every citizen, extending their natural lifespans and purging every sickness, from the common cold to terminal cancer.

The "Draft Deletion" reversed. Shattered marble flew back into place. Burnt wood turned into fresh, white oak. The city didn't just return to normal; it was upgraded into a [Divine Citadel].

The citizens looked up in religious awe. They saw the "Farmer" standing in the light, his straw hat casting a shadow over eyes that held the secrets of the universe.

"The Saint..." the mother he had saved whispered, clutching her daughter. "He didn't just save us. He gave us a future."

Sakura let out a long, tired sigh. He looked at the perfectly rebuilt city and then at the Hydra (Sploshy), who was now helping the construction workers move heavy stones with its seven heads.

'Alright,' Sakura thought, his face starting to blush as he saw the Emperor and the high priests running toward him to bow. 'I think it's time to head back to the farm before they try to make me King.'

Sakura stood there in the middle of his own miracle, the golden light of the [Eternal Sunrise] reflecting off his straw hat.

He looked down at the mother, who was still trembling as she held her daughter—not out of fear anymore, but out of pure, overwhelming love. Even with her wounds gone and her life restored, her first instinct wasn't to look at the God standing before her, but to check if her child was truly okay.

Sakura felt a sharp, cold pang in his chest that no amount of Divine Mana could heal.

'If I had a mother like that...' he thought, his grip tightening slightly on the wooden handle of his hoe. 'If someone had just looked at me like I was worth more than a royalty check... maybe I wouldn't have been so eager to leave that world behind. Maybe Sakura Haruno wouldn't have died so lonely.'

For a second, the Omni King looked human. Just a 27-year-old guy who missed a love he never actually had.

But then he felt a warm, firm hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Gaia standing beside him, her emerald eyes soft with an ancient, maternal wisdom. She didn't need to read his mind; she was the Earth, she felt his heartbeat. On his other side, Reil bumped her head against his arm, her silver tail giving a quiet, comforting wag.

"My Lord," Gaia whispered, her voice like a soothing breeze. "The past is a draft that has already been published. But this world? This world is a blank page. And here, you are never alone."

Sakura took a deep breath, the heavy lump in his throat finally fading. He looked back at the mother and daughter and gave them a small, genuine smile.

"Take care of each other," he said softly.

The guild master went on their knees thanking him asking him what he needs they would give him anything.

"Don't worry about it," Sakura said, giving the Emperor a casual wave as the entire royal court hit the floor in a synchronized bow. "I just did what felt right. Keep the peace, and we're even."

But the Guild Master, Lord Barnaby, wasn't about to let the Savior of the Empire leave empty-handed. He blew a silver whistle, and the sound of rhythmic clanking filled the square. Thousands of knights marched forward, but they weren't carrying weapons—they were carrying heavy, overflowing sacks.

THUD. THUD. THUD.

One by one, they dropped the bags at the back of Zeno's wagon. Gold coins that sparkled like sunlight, silver bars that hummed with mana, and [Celestial Ores] that glowed with a soft, starlight blue.

"This is but a fraction of what we owe you, Saint Zeno," Barnaby said, his voice thick with emotion. "Consider it a gift from the people you brought back from the void."

Sakura's eyes practically turned into gold coins. 'Finally! No more budget cuts for the irrigation system! I can buy that high-grade moon-soil now!' He tossed the bags into his [Infinite Inventory] and hopped onto the wagon seat.

But then, his expression turned serious. He looked the Emperor dead in the eyes, his violet gaze carrying a weight that made the air turn cold.

"One more thing," Sakura said, his voice dropping to a low whisper that only the Emperor and Barnaby could hear. "People are going to ask. Other kingdoms, hidden sects, maybe even... things from beyond. They're going to want to know who performed a miracle this big. Do not tell them. Tell them it was a 'Relic of the Ancients' or a 'One-time Divine Intervention.' Just... keep my name out of it."

He glanced up at the sky, his Omni-Eyes piercing through the layers of reality. He could feel it—the [Prince Malphas] and the [Evil God] weren't just mad anymore. They were curious. And a curious God is a dangerous thing for a quiet farm life.

"Because if they find me," Sakura muttered, "my 'retirement' is officially over."

The Emperor nodded solemnly, sweat beading on his forehead. "Upon my soul and my crown, Lord Zeno. Your secret is safe within these walls."

"Cool. See ya!" Sakura chirped, his "chill" persona returning instantly. He flicked the reins of the Abyssal Bull (who was now happily chewing on a gold-flecked carrot). "Let's go, Sploshy! Gaia, Reil, girls Let's go home. I think I've had enough of the 'Big City' for one lifetime."

The wagon rolled out of the Golden City, leaving behind a rebuilt empire and a legend that would be whispered for generations.
