Three battleships could be seen from the shore.
Soon, five ships became visible.
Then ten.
Then fifteen.
Golden Guards jumped onto the water.
They weren't drowning.
They were standing on it.
There were three Golden Guards whose power could be considered comparable to that of a handicapped Elite Guard.
Golden Guard 1 — Irin.
Golden Guard 2 — Tensu.
Golden Guard 3 — Wern.
Irin was the only female Golden Guard present and also the strongest among them.
Gin stood at the shore, holding a blade larger than himself.
Complete silence.
Cannons were loaded.
A series of gears began rotating with loud mechanical sounds.
As soon as the gears settled, a cannonball was inserted through an opening.
Once it reached the innermost chamber, a light glowed inside the cannon.
Electromagnets.
The cannonball turned red-hot.
Then it was fired.
Within a fraction of a second, it reached the shoreline.
Before it could land, it was chopped into two pieces.
The fragments evaporated shortly afterward.
Huh?
Many couldn't even perceive what had happened.
[Irin]: Isn't it obvious?
Gin sliced it in half, and the dense Dark Energy coating on his blade evaporated the remains.
Fire again.
Hundreds of cannons activated simultaneously.
The gears settled.
Cannonballs were loaded.
For maximum impact, the gears rotated once more.
The electromagnets activated.
The cannonballs glowed red.
Boom.
The sky began raining cannonballs.
[Gin]: O Fairy of Love, grant me your power.
Goddess One-Winged!
Gin poured Dark Energy Reserves into his massive blade.
With a roar, he unleashed a slash toward the heavens.
The attack collided with countless cannonballs.
The entire cloud layer above was swept away.
Tensu and Wern dashed toward the shore.
Meanwhile, the battleships began connecting massive chains.
As soon as Tensu reached Gin and attempted to strike him, he was met with a crushing force.
Wern stepped onto Gin's blade and tried driving his sword through Gin's neck.
Gin caught his wrist and hurled him back the way he came.
Tensu stood up and attacked again.
He was struck down once more.
The clouds above suddenly contracted.
The result of an experiment conducted by the battleships.
A massive superbolt descended upon Gin.
He couldn't evade it.
The impact destroyed a large section of the shore.
[Irin]: Release Green.
The chains connected to the battleships were pulled.
A gate appeared.
As it opened, a wolf emerged.
A gigantic wolf.
It charged straight toward Gin.
Gin had survived the superbolt with barely visible damage.
His eyes remained those of a predator.
Not even the colossal wolf charging toward him could shake his resolve.
Green lunged.
It looked as though a fierce battle was about to begin.
Reality was far different.
Gin swatted the giant wolf aside with the back of his hand.
Green immediately released a devastating breath attack after regaining its footing.
Gin split the attack in half with his blade.
The divided blast erased nearly everything in its path.
[Irin]: Everyone here is useless.
Irin muttered.
[Irin]: Five battleships will remain at the shore.
Tenth Squad, deploy.
Formation Reverse.
The troops aboard five battleships jumped out and rushed toward the shoreline.
The remaining soldiers redistributed themselves among the empty ships.
Irin herself began running toward the shore.
Wern and Tensu followed behind her.
The three easily outpaced the other Golden Guards and soldiers.
The moment Irin reached Gin, their blades collided.
The exchange was catastrophic.
The sky split apart.
The sea split apart.
Two battleships fell directly into the valley created by their clash.
Nearby soldiers were hurled back into the ocean.
The shockwaves devastated another large section of the shore.
The impact threw both Gin and Irin backward.
Gin (thinking): Her power...
No Golden Guard should be this strong.
She must be a Four-Starred Personnel.
I can't fight everyone while dealing with someone like her.
Gin stood up and exhaled.
Wern and Tensu saw the opening.
Both attacked while Gin was still recovering.
Gin dodged Wern's sword.
However, Tensu's blade carved a deep slash across his torso.
More than 300,000 soldiers surged toward Gin.
At the same time, 500 Silver Guards activated their weakening abilities against him.
Irin lunged forward once more.
Moments later, a massive burst of Dark Energy could be felt from miles away.
The clash between Gin and Irin once again exceeded what nature itself could withstand.
Cracks appeared across the spacetime fabric.
Wern seized the opportunity and launched a surprise attack toward Gin's neck from behind.
Gin dodged it.
Was this a 2-v-1?
No.
It was 305,002 versus 1.
Soon, Tensu joined the assault again.
Thousands of distant trees were suddenly blasted into the sky.
The very next second, every one of them was chopped into countless pieces.
Such was the intensity of the battle.
Not a single Silver Guard could even perceive the speed at which Gin and the Golden Guards were fighting.
The war had only just begun.
