The dawn's light entered little by little through the window, sliding over the stone edge and extending through the room's interior with a warm, clean tone. The sky still preserved night's remains; a dark blue strip withdrew toward the horizon while the sun began to impose itself with faint brightness.
Lloyd was sitting before the window, leaning on the frame, with one leg drawn up and the other extended. His posture transmitted calm, a stillness that contrasted with everything that had occurred during the night. The morning wind entered without obstacles, moving his black hair softly and dragging the smell of moist earth, raised dust, broken stone.
From that height one could see the courtyard and part of the terrain surrounding the fort. Combat remains still marked the place. Bodies set aside, scattered weapons, signs of struggle in every corner. However, there was no longer tension. The beast-men moved among the remains efficiently, organizing, removing, securing each point.
