The snow fell softly over Cocytus, drifting between the stone and metal structures without haste. No traces remained of that aggressive, blind storm that, years ago, seemed intent on burying the corpses and ruins of a territory on the brink of extinction. Nowadays, the main streets remained clear thanks to the engineering transforming the landscape; enormous thermal conduits traversed the districts like warm arteries, and dense columns of steam constantly emerged from the iron grates installed beneath the paved ground, dissolving the flakes before they could accumulate.
