Chapter 93: Skypiea – Sol vs. Enel & the Thunder God's Fury
"That bastard who stole my gold still wants me to be his priest? You must be tired of living!" Nami stood with hands on hips, orange hair slightly floating from static electricity, unleashing a torrent of curses at Enel.
Sol stepped forward right behind her: "Like I said earlier—wanting to make a move on Nami? Not a chance! If anyone's becoming a subordinate, it's you becoming mine!"
Luffy flashed his signature wide grin and gave Enel the international friendly gesture.
Looking at this group of insolent Qinghai people, veins bulged on Enel's forehead; lightning crackled wildly around him. "You've successfully pissed me off, Qinghai scum!"
"30 Million Volt: Thunderbird!"
He struck the golden staff against his right shoulder drum. A dazzling blue lightning eagle shrieked into existence and dove toward them.
But the next scene made Enel's pupils shrink—the Thunderbird passed straight through the grinning Luffy and the defiant Nami, only to be caught in Sol's wide-open mouth with a loud "Ah-woo!" and swallowed whole.
"Burp~" Sol finished with a satisfied belch and wiped his mouth.
"Impossible! It must be a coincidence!" Enel frantically pounded both shoulder drums. "60 Million Volt: Thunder Dragon!"
This time he watched carefully: the lightning dragon indeed passed through the other two, but the pink-haired guy slurped it up like noodles.
"No good—I'm stuffed. Let me take a breather… burp!" Sol rubbed his belly and waved at Enel in refusal.
"Seriously, any more electricity and I won't be able to sleep tonight," Nami added. The lightning had only made her more energetic. Only Luffy looked envious at the two of them: "Damn it, why am I the only one who feels nothing?"
"Nani?!" Enel's jaw practically hit the ground; his eyes nearly popped out. "Why are you all fine?! This isn't scientific!!" Σ(°△°|||)︴
Of course there's no result—Sol thought to himself. His Dragon Slayer Magic could devour lightning and convert it into stamina and mana. Nami's Thunder Bird Fruit was a Mythical Zoan—lightning was just nourishment to her, the more the better. As for Luffy? Even less need to explain—the Nika Fruit's rubber body was naturally insulated; lightning couldn't even tickle him.
This wasn't a fight at all—it was a buffet delivery for the three of them!
"Luffy, leave this guy to me," Sol blocked the eager captain and stepped forward.
"You've thrown so many hits—now it's my turn." Sol cracked a grin, leaning slightly forward like a beast ready to pounce. "Just so you know, I won't kill you. After all, I already said I'd take you as my subordinate."
"Subdue… a god?!" Enel laughed in furious disbelief; lightning surged violently around him. "Don't get cocky! Being immune to lightning doesn't mean you can beat me!"
"I already told you," Sol's eyes sharpened; his figure suddenly vanished. "Just bear with it—the pain will only last a moment!"
Bang!!
A pitch-black Armament Haki-coated fist smashed squarely into Enel's abdomen!
"Guh?!" Enel's eyes bulged; his internal organs felt as though they'd been crushed by a giant. A mouthful of blood sprayed out.
The next instant, his body rocketed downward like a cannonball—BOOM!!! The entire ground cracked; dust shot skyward. Enel embedded deep into the rock layer.
"Consciousness… fading… why didn't intangibility work?" His vision darkened; with just one punch, Enel teetered on the edge of unconsciousness. "Damn it… I used too much force…" Sol scratched his head, looking at his smoking fist in exasperation. "This guy didn't even try to defend? Too honest, huh?"
"Hey, Sol! You didn't kill him, did you?" Nami shouted anxiously, hands on hips. "I still haven't asked where my gold is!"
Those words made Zoro and Luffy nearby break into cold sweat. Nami was terrifyingly ruthless!
"Thump… thump…"
Chopper suddenly perked his ears, staring intently toward where Enel had fallen. "What's wrong, Chopper?" Robin and Zoro asked at the same time.
"This is… the sound of a heartbeat restarting!" Chopper's deer eyes widened. "He's using electric shocks to stimulate his own heart—like a medical defibrillator! He's performing CPR on himself!"
"What kind of joke is that?!" Zoro gripped his swords tighter, staring incredulously at the crater. "He can do something like that?"
From the dust, a figure slowly rose. Enel wiped blood from his mouth; the golden staff gleamed coldly in his hand. "I almost went to meet a real god… Qinghai bastard."
His gaze locked dead on Sol, confusion and wariness in his eyes: "What the hell was that technique just now? Why could it hit me even when I was intangible?"
"That's called Armament Haki. Wanna learn? I'll teach you." Sol shook out his fist with a provocative grin.
"Don't get arrogant!" Enel roared in fury. His body instantly elementalized and expanded into a hundred-meter lightning giant. "200 Million Volt: Raijin!"
The entire sky was blanketed in blinding lightning. Enel laughed maniacally: "Yehahahaha! Since lightning doesn't work, then taste extreme heat!" The golden staff in his hand instantly melted into liquid. "Thunder Metallurgy!"
Molten gold swirled in his grasp, forming a blazing trident. The searing tip pointed straight at Sol: "Let's see you eat this!"
"Like I said—stats monster vs. hax monster, how do you even fight?" Sol grinned, took a deep breath, and inhaled all the flames from the trident into his stomach.
Then an Armament Haki-coated fist smashed forward—the golden trident shattered instantly!
"Damn it—even flames can be devoured?! Fine then—let the entire sky island sink with you down to the Blue Sea!" Enel screamed hysterically. "Ten Million Volt: Discharge!"
Dozens of massive thunderbolts crashed down—not only at Sol, but wildly destroying the ground beneath them.
Sol finally began dodging, yet in the middle of movement he casually grabbed one bolt and stuffed it into his mouth.
"I get it now!" Enel's eyes flashed with realization. "You're not immune to lightning—you devour it! As long as I avoid that mouth…" He raised his hand sharply. "100 Million Volt: Discharge!"
A thick lightning pillar shot straight at Sol's face—only for Sol to inhale deeply. A red-blue magic circle suddenly bloomed in front of him.
"Thunder Flame Dragon's Roar!"
A fused flame-and-lightning Dragon Slayer blast erupted outward. Blazing fire waves threaded with violent lightning instantly shattered Enel's attack. The torrent didn't stop—blasting a massive hole straight through Enel's giant form.
"This power…!" Enel stared in horror at his body already elementalizing to repair itself, cold sweat pouring. "Good thing I dodged with intangibility in time."
"Phew~" Sol wiped his mouth contentedly. "Spitting out the stuffed lightning feels so much better." He cracked his neck; Armament Haki once again coated both arms. "Warm-up's over. Ready to get serious?"
