Stepping out from behind Faen, Jinx stared deathly at Vi, who had come out to stop him, her eyes brimming with a distorted, manic energy.
"Let me see who this is. Is it my dear sister, Vi Ole? No, how could it possibly be her? After all, the person in front of me isn't just wearing the skin of a Piltie dog, she's wearing a Piltie dog tag too."
The moment she saw Jinx, Vi subconsciously averted her gaze, glancing to the side as if she didn't dare to look Jinx in the eye.
But very quickly, Vi realized she couldn't act like this. She turned her gaze back, meeting Jinx's eyes without yielding an inch, and said seriously, "Jinx, now isn't the time to worry about the problems between us! What this guy Faen is doing will affect the entirety of Zaun. You don't know how powerful Piltover's industrial strength is, but I do—and his stubbornness will completely destroy Zaun!"
"That's not for a traitor of Zaun to say!" Jinx sneered.
"I am not a traitor to Zaun!" Hearing that title, Vi flew into a rage, pointing at Jinx and saying through gritted teeth, "I am standing here for the sake of Zaun! And what about you? What have you done in the past? Tell me! Why are you working for the murderer who killed Vander!"
Hearing this, Jinx simply broke into a radiant smile, saying with a face full of indifference, "Yeah, first I worked for the murderer who killed Vander, and now I'm working for the murderer who's going to kill Silco. That's Jinx, that's bad luck. Anyway, just like you said, I'm just a freak who brings disaster~"
Jinx still remembered the very last words Vi had left her with over a decade ago when she abandoned her.
"Of course, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. After all, the meaning of Jinx is Jinx." Jinx tilted her head, completely unbothered by Vi's verbal assault, her face filled with undisguised mockery and a powerful sense of self-destruction.
She had grown accustomed to this level of humiliation years ago, when Vander's die-hard loyalists had confronted her. She didn't even bother to refute it, because she had long ago accepted her identity—or rather, the fact—that she was a freak.
Now, looking at Vi, Jinx continued to laugh loudly as she spoke, "But what about you? Vi, what are you doing? After becoming a traitor to Zaun, you still have the gall to talk about doing this for Zaun? Let me guess, are you here to arrest Zaunite criminals for the sake of Piltover? Just like that Chem-Baron, using some bullshit excuse like 'judicial justice'?"
"Don't tell me you actually believe it? No way, right? You shouldn't believe it. After all, if these Topsiders actually cared about so-called judicial justice, at least half of the revenue from the Sun Gates would belong to Zaun. Why is it that the entire Sun Gates sea-lock and the canal have absolutely nothing to do with Zaun? Is it because Zaunites are born outlaws, born to be evil Zaunite brats?"
"You..." Looking at the Jinx who was all offense and no defense, Vi—who was always faster with her fists than her words—found herself momentarily tongue-tied. One could see she wanted to say something. But in a shouting match, it's hard to defeat someone who is 'shameless.' This shamelesness wasn't about her character, but rather that Jinx's current self-destructive state made her completely indifferent to Vi's accusations, leaving Vi unsure of how to respond.
Vi didn't know how to respond, but Jinx certainly wasn't going to stop her attack. Staring fixedly at Vi, her face filled with paranoid obsession, Jinx said:
"Speak! Why don't you speak?! Or did seeing the power of Piltover scare you to death? You don't have a single thought of resisting? Then I suggest you stop being an Enforcer, lest you just give up the moment you run into a problem!"
Watching the two sisters clash with words, Faen's face was filled with keen interest. In contrast, Caitlyn's expression grew increasingly solemn.
Undoubtedly, she had noticed that Jinx's relentless pestering was having a severe impact on Vi. Watching Vi's face change constantly, her eyes flashing with guilt and self-reproach due to Jinx's self-deprecation and self-destructive tendencies, and remembering the Vi who had fearlessly protected her during past duties, an inexplicable emotion surged in the bottom of Caitlyn's heart.
However, as the Sheriff, Caitlyn still firmly maintained her sanity and reason. She stepped in to stop Jinx's behavior, interrupting with a cold face, "Enough! Jinx! We haven't even settled the bill for you assisting Silco in smuggling Shimmer to Topside yet!"
"Smuggling? Ha! Don't act like your Piltie Wardens haven't taken bribes before!"
Jinx didn't care about Caitlyn's accusations at all. "And is the relationship between Zaun and Piltover so good? To be honest, plenty of Zaunites see me as a hero. After all, nothing is better praise than the enemy's anger. I'm even thinking about making a super big bomb, then quietly aiming it while you're all in a meeting, then—WHOOSH—BOOM!!! I'll send it over and treat your whole family to a barbecue~"
When facing Caitlyn, Jinx cared even less. Her face was full of smiles, not taking Caitlyn's words to heart in the slightest.
Looking at the Jinx who was completely indifferent to her, Caitlyn realized that trying to communicate with this lunatic was just asking for trouble. She quickly turned her spear toward Faen: "Speaking of which, Mr. Faen, Miss Seraphine went missing after the concert. According to our Piltie Warden investigation, traces of Miss Seraphine have appeared in the Zaunite Sump."
"Seraphine is a public figure of both Piltover and Zaun. I believe it is necessary for your excellency to provide a clear answer."
"Ah, Seraphine. She came here of her own accord. After all, her parents are both Zaunites."
Saying this, Faen clapped his hands and said, "You won't believe me if I just say it. How about this, you can ask her yourselves."
With Faen's words, the Storm Mark quickly transmitted the message to Zeri and Seraphine's minds. Having received Faen's summons, in just a few minutes, Zeri appeared in everyone's sight. She was carrying Seraphine in a princess carry, using her E-skill to slide along the steel skin of the Chem-tower in a trail of sparks and lightning, arriving at the top level of Zaun.
Seraphine was a bit taller than Zeri, but after being heavily "nourished" by Faen during this period, Zeri's physical constitution was more than just a little better than before. Let alone carrying a girl, she could even endure Faen's full-powered assault during their nighttime intimacy for a long time.
"We're here! Seraphine is right here~!"
Setting Seraphine down on the ground, Zeri skipped over to Faen's side with a grin, tilting her small face up to seek praise.
Although Zeri was smiling radiantly, her long, slender legs visibly trembled the moment they hit the ground. She had to quietly lean her weight against Faen's arm. Only Faen knew what kind of shameful torture this "puppy" had endured on the way sprinting up here.
Faen's broad hand naturally wrapped around Zeri's slender waist. His fingertips, extremely hidden yet utterly merciless, pressed down heavily through the thin fabric of her combat suit directly onto her already swollen private parts.
"Ngh...!" Zeri's body suddenly stiffened, a sweet and stifled moan escaping her throat.
Because she had received Faen's violent "Joy Factor" and magical resonance on the battlefield earlier, the depths of her thoroughly fucked flower house were already a flooded mess. Now, under the pressure of Faen's calloused fingers, the thick white paste stored in her vaginal canal mixed with her own gushing transparent love juices. Like a broken dam, they squeezed out of her closed labia with a "squelch," sliding greasily down the roots of her thighs and even soaking a lewd, dark wet spot onto the tight fabric of her combat suit.
This sense of immorality—being in front of Piltie Enforcers and knowing she could be seen through at any moment—caused Zeri's ears to turn bright red instantly. Her plump breasts rubbed violently against Faen's arm with her rapid breathing, her rock-hard nipples even poking through the fabric. Her originally clear brown eyes were now misty, a dazed heart shape faintly appearing in her pupils. Fine pinkish-green electric arcs shot out from her hair as she, like a little female cat in heat, quietly poked out her perky buttocks, greedily grinding against that wicked hand and begging for more pleasure.
Faen timely rubbed Zeri's head, then cast his gaze toward Seraphine, saying, "This officer suspects I kidnapped you. Please explain."
Hearing this, Seraphine nodded. She looked at the suspicious Caitlyn and said with a bright smile, "Mr. Faen didn't force me. I wanted to come myself. Rather, I've wanted to visit Zaun for a long time. Since my mom and dad are both Zaunites, I can feel this land calling to me."
Hearing Seraphine's words, Caitlyn stared at her with suspicion. Through Seraphine's expression and the light in her eyes, Caitlyn could roughly determine that she hadn't had her mind altered by magic or drugs. Judging by her state, there was no sign of the paranoia or madness associated with brainwashing.
But precisely because she was so normal, Caitlyn noticed something slightly off. Having suddenly arrived in the shithole environment of Zaun without protection, how could Seraphine show absolutely no sign of being affected?
Thinking of this, Caitlyn asked several questions used by the Piltie Wardens to determine if a person was under the influence of psychotropic drugs. Seraphine was puzzled but tried to answer. Although some answers weren't entirely accurate, these questions weren't about judging right from wrong based on the answer, but rather judging based on the reaction.
From the reactions Seraphine displayed during the process—especially her questions and clarifications regarding some vague points—Caitlyn could be fairly certain that Seraphine's mind had not been compromised.
With that, Caitlyn nodded and said, "Alright. Your parents have been looking for you. If possible, you should contact them as soon as you can. If you insist on staying here, I will inform your parents if needed. If you run into any trouble..."
Caitlyn glanced at Faen and the others. "Piltover will protect every legal citizen."
"Are you finished?" Faen looked at Caitlyn.
Giving Seraphine one last look and confirming there were no signs of threat, Caitlyn turned and said, "The matter regarding Miss Seraphine is concluded. If there are no other issues, we shall depart."
"It isn't time for you to leave yet." Faen shook his head, looking at Caitlyn. "You have finished your questioning, so now it is my turn."
Caitlyn's heart sank. She looked at Faen calmly and asked, "What does your excellency wish to ask?"
"The handling of the Chem-Barons is an internal matter for us Zaunites. According to what you just said, Baron Takeda Saito has dealings with certain trade families inside Piltover? And he has deep cooperation with your family? Then, for the sake of judicial justice and to prevent any accidents regarding the suspect, I ask that Miss Caitlyn stay in Zaun along with Baron Takeda Saito."
Faen smiled and said, "This is also for the sake of Zaun's judicial justice."
