Adelyn lowered her eyes.
Money had never been the reason she wanted ti sever the ties with the Scotts.
Nor did she wish to profit from anything they once shared.

Her lips slowly curved into a smile before she shook her head.
"I was never entitled to anything from them. So, I'm not looking for any compensation. An official letter of severance will be enough."
Lawyer Jonson frowned upon hearing that.
"Ms. Grace, compensation is what you deserve. Why wouldn't you seek it from the Scotts?"
Adelyn shook her head once more. Then, leaning forward slightly, she said,
"Oh ... it took me a whole three years to settle what we owed each other. Now that everything has finally been settled, neither they nor I have any strings attached anymore."
She smiled faintly.
"So please ... don't bring up the same idea again. I can't bear to keep going around in the same circles."
