Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: A Foot Fetish’s Ambition

Jingliu didn't say a word—she just kept pouring alcohol down her throat.

[Ding! Detected: the host is currently in a "love-death showdown" crisis. The system will provide free, friendly galgame assistance.]

[Option A: Slam the table, roar at Yingxing "What the hell do you know about love?", and confess to Jingliu on the spot.]

[Option B: Pretend to be drunk, and flop into Jingliu's arms while acting cute and clingy.]

[Option C: Take out the Antimatter Legion heart and confess passionately: "Compared to the movie, I'd rather study your heartbeat."]

Wei Qing stared at the translucent system panel, veins throbbing on his forehead.

This trash system was definitely related to Aha, wasn't it?!

"…Alright, Yingxing, say less. It's just a movie—don't take it so seriously." Dan Feng hurried to smooth things over. He'd finally noticed something was off.

Jingliu was acting far too abnormal tonight, and Dan Feng couldn't help forming a few guesses.

In their tight little circle of six, Dan Feng was closest with Yingxing; Jingliu usually stuck with Bai Heng; and Wei Qing hung out with Jing Yuan the most.

But tonight, Jingliu had secretly arranged to meet Wei Qing. That by itself wasn't unheard of—but the time and place were strange.

Jingliu wasn't the type to watch movies. Yet here she was with Wei Qing, showing up during the couples' time slot.

"…Huh? Dan Feng, that's not what you said before. You clearly—" Yingxing, fueled by alcohol and a death wish, tried to keep digging his own grave.

Dan Feng didn't give him the chance.

With surgical precision, he chopped Yingxing on the back of the neck.

Yingxing's eyes rolled back mid-sentence, and he collapsed face-first onto the table.

"He's had too much," Dan Feng said calmly, retracting his hand.

Well done, Your High Eldership!

Wei Qing applauded internally at the timely intervention.

Then Dan Feng hoisted the unconscious Yingxing over his shoulder and shot Wei Qing a meaningful look.

"Wei Qing, that's enough for tonight. I'll leave Jingliu to you—take her back."

Before Wei Qing could even answer, Dan Feng had already carried Yingxing out at a brisk pace, leaving behind only Wei Qing and a thoroughly drunk Jingliu.

"I'll take you home?" Wei Qing asked tentatively.

Jingliu didn't reply. She only lifted her head slightly, her hazy, drunken eyes staring straight at him.

Her cheeks were flushed an unnatural red. That normally icy aura had softened into something oddly… sweet.

Wei Qing's heart jumped. He was about to ask again when Jingliu suddenly stood—swayed—and tipped toward a fall.

He caught her quickly, and she slumped into his arms, boneless and warm.

"…Home," Jingliu mumbled indistinctly. Her breath brushed Wei Qing's face, and then she went quiet again.

Sure, she said "home," but the problem was—

Wei Qing had no idea where Jingliu lived.

He complained silently. Yes—after all these years, he had never once been to her home. Even back when he trained under her for a time, it had all been at the Cloud Knights' training grounds.

With no other choice, Wei Qing supported Jingliu and headed toward his own place.

He couldn't exactly dump the Sword Champion of the Luofu into some random inn. If Master Teng Xiao found out, Wei Qing would get skinned alive.

Wei Qing's residence sat in a secluded courtyard in Changle Heaven. Hardly anyone disturbed him there.

Half carrying, half supporting her, he finally managed to settle Jingliu onto the bed in the guest room.

By now she was completely out cold, sinking into the blankets like putty—looking utterly defenseless, the kind of posture that screamed at the mercy of whoever wanted to do whatever.

Which, unfortunately, made things even harder for Wei Qing—

because he still hadn't completed his side quest.

And judging by Jingliu's reactions tonight—plus that ridiculous galgame menu the system had suddenly thrown at him—Wei Qing had confirmed one thing beyond doubt:

This system really was an idiot.

No one suspected him of anything, so how exactly was he supposed to "clear doubts"?

As if responding to his complaint, the system chimed again.

[Ding! Detected: the host is slacking. Side-quest assistance program activated.]

[Please immediately wash Jingliu's feet. Display a "gentle and considerate" persona to eliminate her suspicions.]

Wei Qing: "???"

This system was genuinely deranged.

The tips of Wei Qing's ears burned red in an instant.

"You're serious?" he ground out through clenched teeth. "Washing a girl's feet while she's drunk—how is that any different from being a pervert?!"

[System Tip: A true traitor must be able to bend and stretch.]

[Please abandon meaningless shame and focus on the mission objective.]

Wei Qing wanted to curse the system for its shamelessness… but then he remembered the Undying Slash sitting in his mindscape, his reward from the previous quest.

In the end—

he surrendered.

It's just washing a cute girl's feet. It's not like I'm losing anything!

Five minutes later, he returned to the bedside with a basin of warm water. A few calming aromatic leaves floated on the surface—his final act of resistance.

Jingliu lay there without a shred of guard up. Her boots had already been removed and placed neatly beside the bed. Her socked feet looked much smaller than he'd imagined.

Wei Qing took a deep breath and gently pinched the edge of her sock. He carefully slid it down, terrified that a bigger movement might wake her.

Jingliu's feet were beautifully shaped, her toes tinged a healthy pink.

He cradled her foot carefully and lowered it into the warm water.

[Ding! Hidden achievement unlocked: "A Foot Fetish's Ambition." Reward: Special Skill—"Sole Massage Mastery."]

It felt like some deeply questionable knowledge had been injected into his brain.

But Wei Qing had already become used to this system's nonsense. He didn't even bother complaining anymore.

He focused on kneading Jingliu's soles—his motions gentle, skilled, and natural, as if he were truly a veteran master with centuries of experience.

"…Mm." After a while, Jingliu let out a soft sound in her sleep, and a faint expression of enjoyment surfaced on her face.

Wei Qing's hands paused slightly.

That tiny sound scratched at his heart like a feather.

He looked up. Jingliu's cheeks were still flushed; her brow had loosened. She seemed deeply asleep.

[System Tip: Task nearing completion. Please seize the opportunity for the next step.]

"Next step?" Wei Qing rolled his eyes internally. "You want me to propose on the spot or what?"

[Option A: Lower your head and kiss the top of her foot to trigger the 'Knight's Loyalty' route.]

[Option B: Secretly take a photo and keep it as leverage for the future.]

[Option C: Cover her with a blanket and quietly leave the room.]

Finally—one normal option.

Wei Qing gently dried Jingliu's feet, then pulled the blanket over her with painstaking care.

"…Good night."

After he left the room, Jingliu suddenly opened her eyes.

She stared at the ceiling for a long time, then raised a hand to cover her burning cheeks.

Warmth still lingered around her ankle.

"…"

In the end, she didn't sleep the whole night.
