Inside Professor Hopkins's RV, everyone sat packed together, the air heavy with exhaustion and dread.
Based on what she remembered from before she came to this world, Aoi laid out the truth of Doma—and what they were trying to do.
"So Doma's goal is to erase human history?!" Joey exclaimed, eyes wide.
"Yes," Aoi said evenly. "Raphael basically admitted as much when I dueled him."
"But… can something like that really be done?" Tristan asked, still struggling to wrap his head around it.
A grim silence fell as everyone's thoughts drifted to the same image—
That eerie, gigantic eye hanging over Domino City's sky.
"…That monster," someone muttered.
"And Doma's Three Musketeers said they needed your souls," Duke added.
"No… it's possible," Joey suddenly said, voice tightening. "We've already seen the method, haven't we?"
Téa's face went pale. "Then we can't handle them at all! We should call the police—some government agency—someone!"
"We can't," Rebecca said, biting back tears. "My grandpa's research was burned to ash. There's no proof left. If we tell them something that crazy, who's going to believe us?"
Aoi nodded. "My guess is they're planning to use our souls as sacrifices to fully revive that monster."
"We can't give up," Professor Hopkins said, forcing strength into his voice.
"I managed to decipher part of the inscriptions," he continued. "And I'm afraid Doma's true identity… may be the descendants of the people of Atlantis—the 'paradise on earth' from ancient legend."
"Atlantis… the mythical continent that sank into the sea?" Duke asked.
"It isn't myth," Hopkins said firmly. "The inscriptions on the underwater ruins are an annal—an actual chronicle. It's history."
He leaned forward, eyes burning with conviction.
"In the past, Atlantis built an advanced civilization and ruled a vast territory. It was praised as a utopia. People believed peace would last forever."
"But one day… Atlantis was destroyed by a monster that was awakened."
"Awakened monster…?" Téa echoed.
Aoi's gaze sharpened. "That's probably the 'god' Doma worships."
Hopkins nodded. "According to what I can read, every generation's king was granted 'divine power' by a mysterious stone."
He exhaled, frustration flickering across his face. "Unfortunately… that's as far as the translation goes."
"That 'stone' is probably the pendant they wear when they activate The Seal of Orichalcos," Aoi said.
Yami Yugi frowned. "They all have that kind of pendant—every Doma member we've seen."
"They went out of their way to destroy the professor's research," Aoi continued. "Which means the inscriptions probably contain something Doma doesn't want anyone to know."
"But the documents are gone…" Téa said quietly.
"Not all of them," Professor Hopkins replied. "At the excavation base—the Florida museum—there should still be research materials and ongoing records."
"That's it," Yami Yugi said. "That's where we go."
Aoi turned to Seto. "Seto—this is where you step up. If we're going to crush Doma, it depends on how much support you're willing to throw in."
Seto scoffed, already pulling out his phone. "Florida museum, huh."
He dialed without hesitation.
"Send a passenger plane to my location. It's to take us to Florida," he ordered crisply. "And make sure it's that aircraft."
A voice answered immediately. "Understood!"
Seto ended the call and looked back at the group. "A plane will be here shortly."
"Nice. If Aoi asks, Kaiba always moves," Joey muttered, half amazed.
"That plane…? What's different about it?" Aoi wondered aloud, already suspecting the answer.
Not long after, a passenger jet touched down on a wide open patch of land.
"Let's go," Seto said, taking Aoi with him as he boarded first.
Yami Yugi nodded. "Everyone, move!"
They climbed into the aircraft—and immediately froze.
Seats. Shelving. Door panels. Bulkheads. Even the cabin accents—
White Dragon motifs were everywhere.
Aoi's eye twitched. "Seto… a normal passenger plane would've been fine. Why is this entire cabin basically Blue-Eyes White Dragon?"
"Because this is the only plane worthy of you," Seto said, dead serious.
Aoi pinched the bridge of her nose. Is there foam in this man's head? Even if you love Blue-Eyes, it doesn't have to be literally everywhere.
"Don't like it?" Seto asked, almost genuinely. "I can switch to a regular plane."
"Keep this one," Aoi sighed. "I don't want to waste time."
She took a seat with a good view; Seto sat right beside her.
Tristan leaned toward Duke and whispered, "Doesn't it feel like Kaiba tried to 'impress Aoi' and got rejected in real time?"
"Shut up," Duke hissed. "If he gets annoyed, he'll throw us out mid-flight."
Behind them, Rebecca looped her arm around Yugi's and tugged him toward a seat. "Come on, darling, let's sit over there!"
Téa's eyes narrowed instantly, jealousy flashing across her face.
Then—
The lights flickered.
A harsh, electric buzz ran through the cabin.
"Seto," Aoi said sharply. "What's happening?"
Seto brought his hand to the communicator hidden in his coat. "Captain, report. Captain!"
No response.
"Go to the cockpit," he ordered.
Everyone rushed forward—
And found it empty.
No pilot. No crew.
Only the controls moving on their own.
"Autopilot?" Tristan breathed.
A voice crackled through the cabin speakers, dripping with smug laughter.
"Hehehe… everyone, please come to the conference room."
Yami Yugi's eyes narrowed. "That voice… Weevil?"
They hurried back.
Weevil Underwood and Rex Raptor were sitting comfortably at the conference table, like they owned the plane.
"We've been waiting for you," Weevil said, grinning.
Seto's face darkened. "You two insects—how did you get onto my plane?!"
Weevil's grin widened. "Hehehe… Doma's power is beyond what you can imagine."
"So you two joined Doma," Aoi said, unimpressed.
Rex puffed his chest out. "That's right. With Doma's power, we won't lose anymore."
Aoi let out a slow, tired sigh. "Fine. So who are you challenging? Don't tell me… me?"
"Of course!" Weevil snapped, eyes full of resentment. "You're the reason we lost! If we beat you, the rest are trash!"
"I don't like that part," Yami Yugi said, stepping forward.
Joey moved too. "Yeah! If you want to challenge Aoi, you'll have to get through us first—two-on-two, just like Duelist Kingdom!"
"Works for me," Aoi said lazily. "I'm not interested in wasting effort on two nobodies."
"Seto," she called.
Seto understood instantly and pressed a hidden control.
The conference table sank into the floor.
Rows of seats retracted.
In seconds, the room became a clean, open dueling space.
"This should be enough," Seto said coolly.
"We don't care," Weevil said, voice sour. "Yugi and Joey are both chosen by the Legendary Dragons—perfect. You two can be our warm-up targets."
"Then let's see how much you've 'improved' with Doma backing you," Yami Yugi said, eyes gleaming.
Joey clenched his fist. "Yeah. Show us what you've got."
The air tightened.
And the duel was about to begin.
