The next day Nevooa wakes up first. He stretches out and picks up his sword. Then Komodo wakes up.
Komodo looks up and stares at the Sun. The Sun is rising on the east.
"Yo, Nevooa we gotta go this way." Komodo said while pointing in the direction the Sun was rising.
They walked for hours seeing many things. But most of it was just empty grass lands that looked never ending. There were hills and mountains from time to time but not much else.
Once it reached midday they to a break to eat. They ate fish from a river near by.
Nevooa got up from eating and said, "Komodo I... Challenge you to a duel."
"A duel? So you want to kill me for what I've done to your father?" Komodo asked.
"Kinda," Nevooa said, "I'm slowly losing that hate for you. Poppy always told me to forgive others. I want to fight you because back there in the forest. I would've died to that fly if it weren't for my sword. I-I want to become strong, I want to be more than support."
"Alright then." Komodo said as he picked up his halberd, "Show me what you got."
Nevooa set his sword on fire and launched at Komodo. Komodo was easily evading Nevooa's attacks.
"Not bad kid," Komodo said while dodging, "But it looks like you're just swinging aimlessly."
Nevooa started to lock in. His attacks started to get more precise, each attack looked as if he meant to kill Komodo.
Komodo wanting to test Nevooa swung his halberd at Nevooa. Nevooa blocks but got pushed back a few feet.
They ran towards each other swinging and swinging.
"And you got to use more of your body too." Komodo said as he kicked Nevooa in the gut.
Nevooa got pushed a few steps back and fell. Then he got back up and rushed at Komodo again. Nevooa started to use more one hand slashes and jabs than before. Then he started to hop around more moving side to side and trying to outplay Komodo.
"Your movement is looking a lot better Nevooa." Komodo said with a smile, "But we gotta end it here."
"Okay, I was getting tired anyway." Nevooa said while panting.
They sat down for a moment and Komodo said, "Just from this one spar alone I can tell that you're talented. Your growth is off the charts you might surpass me sometime in the future."
"Thanks," Nevooa said, "I don't think I'm that good but I can feel myself improving."
"But," Nevooa said, "Do you really think those prophecies are true? And that I could really become stronger."
"I'm not sure about the prophecies but I do think you can become stronger." Komodo said while looking at the sky.
The sky was was light blue, there were a few clouds. The clouds were very round and looked like cotton candy.
"I sense that you have a greater purpose in this world other than to beat Novak." Komodo said, "I feel as if you can become someone who represents something and stands true to their actions."
"You really think that?" Nevooa said with a brightness in his heart.
"Yes, yes I do." Komodo said.
"Off topic but what did Novak do to become so hated." Nevooa asked as he turned his head to Komodo.
"Novak," Komodo said, "According what the clan has taught me. Novak betrayed the Empire and left on his own to find a way to destroy it. I've seen people leave the clan but they have never wanted to find a way to destroy it.
"Oh," Nevooa said, "I thought he did something much worse to be called a threat."
"The thing that makes him such a threat is that he is smart and strong. He probably has plans to over through and destroy the Empire easily. Plus he has a group of people that work with him too." Komodo said.
"If he does have this plan then why doesn't he go through with it." Nevooa questioned.
"He most likely waiting for the right time or he doesn't have the materials yet." Komodo replied.
"Yo what do you have to do to betray the Empire?" Nevooa asked.
"I'll give a paper that states all of the rules of the Empire and the rules of the Hand Clan." Komodo said.
"Why didn't you just give it to me before we left?" Nevooa said.
"Chief wanted me to go on a mission right after I brought you here. So I didn't get the time." Komodo responded.
They both got up and started to walk again. They walked and walked until it was night time.
The starts that night were dim and not as bright.
They were in a flat land that stretched for miles. It long greenish yellow grass that reached their knees. They both laid down and started to sleep.
