Obito looked at Akira in surprise. "Mitobone… you can share it with me too?"
Madara answered before Akira could. "Of course he can. Did you forget, Obito? The Kotoamatsukami he used on that Nue bird was empowered by Mitobone. That's how he erased all traces of brain chakra completely."
"Ah?" Obito froze for a moment, then suddenly slapped his forehead. "Oh! Right! I remember now. Guess I've been forgetful lately."
Madara silently thought: You probably never noticed in the first place…
Akira smiled. "I should've explained earlier. Mitobone can indeed be shared—but there's a condition. I have to maintain physical contact with the person I'm sharing it with. My palm can't leave them for the entire duration of the technique."
"I see."
Obito closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, twin Mangekyō Sharingan spun within his sockets.
Akira stepped behind him and pressed his left palm firmly against Obito's back.
"Do I activate Kamui first, or do you use Mitobone first?" Obito asked.
"In theory, we could do it simultaneously," Akira replied. "But I'll go first."
He turned his head slightly toward Madara. "Uncle Madara, I'll leave emergency handling to you."
"Emergency handling?" Madara's brows knit faintly.
Akira's left eye flared crimson.
—Mitobone!
"Alright, Obito. You've been buffed."
Obito's eyes burst with power.
—Kamui!
A massive vortex—ten meters in radius—tore open in the air before them.
At the vortex's core, a black fissure in space slowly split open, like a clam shell parting.
Obito's heart pounded.
This is insane…!
The sheer ease of breaking through his ocular limits surpassed even the boost Naruto and that pink-haired girl once gave him combined!
"Mitobone… what an incredible support dojutsu! It feels like nothing can stop my Kamui now!"
For a fleeting second, Obito felt like he had reached the pinnacle of his life.
Crack!
The fissure widened to the size of a circular mirror.
A scorching, steaming torrent rushed toward them.
Obito's expression changed instantly. "Damn it! The first space connected… it's the Acid Sea dimension!"
His Edo body could endure it.
Akira's flesh-and-blood body could not.
BOOM!!
Madara stepped forward without hesitation. Blue ethereal chakra erupted, forming a skeletal Susanoo barrier that sealed off the oncoming acid.
Sizzle—
Within seconds, the acid began eating through the ribcage, punching holes through it.
Madara's eyes sharpened. "Acid strong enough to melt Susanoo instantly. So this is the 'emergency' you mentioned?"
The fissure expanded until it fully overlapped with the Kamui vortex. The roiling Acid Sea dimension lay exposed before them.
Filthy torrents surged forward like a dam bursting.
Just as the skeletal Susanoo was about to be consumed—
Obito's eyes flared again.
—Mitobone · Kamui!
The rushing acid was shredded and diverted by a second Kamui vortex.
A new crack opened at the center—
And the scenery shifted.
The Acid Sea was overwritten by another dimension.
Before them stretched a world of blazing magma and erupting volcanoes.
"…Ah. The first one," Obito murmured, nostalgia flickering across his face.
The Lava Dimension.
The magma here was relatively stable, not pressurized like the Acid Sea. It didn't erupt outward upon spatial breach.
Still—not exactly suitable for landing.
"Next!" Obito barked.
—Mitobone · Kamui!!
Crack!
Through the opening, jagged geometric shapes could be seen.
"Let's go in first," Obito said. "Akira, take a breather."
"Fine."
Akira nodded. After the earlier battle with Naruto and Sasuke, his ocular power wasn't exactly abundant.
Since Akira couldn't remove his palm yet, Madara's Susanoo skeletal hand lifted both of them and leapt through the portal.
Whoosh!
The moment Akira released his palm, the vortex reversed and collapsed into a tiny black anchor point.
Before vanishing, it sent out a strange vibration.
—
On the Moon—
A sharp crack echoed beside Toneri.
He raised his hand tentatively, touching a glass-like fracture in space.
Though blind, understanding dawned within him—along with deep unease.
Ever since Naruto defeated him thirteen years ago and stripped him of the Tenseigan, Toneri had remained on the Moon, silently watching over his "Byakugan Princess," Hinata… and the fate of her son, Boruto.
"Boruto's destiny… has twisted."
"He no longer carries the fate of a savior."
"What is happening on Earth?"
"The energy radiating from this fracture… such overwhelming anti-origin force… even I cannot interfere."
"Oh Princess of the Byakugan… I may no longer be able to watch over you and Boruto."
"Where is this world heading?"
"Space itself has grown unstable."
"One thing is certain… the Heavenly Ones will descend from here."
"And I… I will…"
"…Wait."
"What awaits me… isn't eternal sleep?"
"In that frost-filled haze… someone approaches me."
"Who…?"
"I cannot see… anything at all."
Akira never expected that his act of linking Kaguya's dimensions from the outside to initiate his plan would prematurely trigger the same spatial fracture that, in the original timeline, was only caused when Sumire summoned Nue via the Gozu Tennō.
And through Boruto's altered fate, Toneri glimpsed a completely different future.
The gears of destiny never stopped turning.
They simply meshed with a different track.
And sooner or later—
They would guide the shinobi world's express train toward the future Akira desired.
—
Landing.
A sudden crushing heaviness pressed down on them.
Akira staggered two steps before stabilizing.
Above them stretched a pale sky streaked with pink halos. The land below was a muted green plain encircled by mountains, dotted with countless orderly triangular protrusions rising from the ground.
"So this is the Super-Gravity Dimension…" Akira muttered.
It was his first time here.
Back then, when he was still green, he hadn't been reckless enough to open Poniya-su and charge into Kaguya's dimensions. That would've been suicide.
Madara, once absorbed by Kaguya, retained a hazy impression of the place.
But among the three, the one most affected was Obito.
This was where he had shielded Naruto and Sasuke.
Where he had been struck by All-Killing Ash Bones.
Where his body had crumbled into dust.
Years had passed.
The ashes he left behind were long scattered by this world's winds.
Obito gazed at the spot where he once perished and lowered his eyes.
"…I never thought I'd return," he murmured softly.
"To the place where my worthless life took its final bow."
