The House of Hewitt — A Teen Wolf SI Isekai Story
CHAPTER 1: Reincarnation
Hazel Ludicrous was many things. A rebel. An artist. A compulsive rock/tree climber. A 17 year old virgin who's obsessed with shows like Wolf Blood, Supernatural, and her all-time favorite, Teen Wolf.
And now, clinically, she was officially dead.
She was climbing a tree in her hometown of Seattle — something she's done thousands of times — when an earthquake struck Seattle.
The earthquake itself wasn't overtly powerful, probably a 3.0 magnitude earthquake by its light trembling. Unfortunately, it was dark and Hazel was already mid-step from her last step more than halfway up the tree — she didn't notice the quaking had affected her sense of balance, and missing the branch of the pine, her arm grabbed air and suddenly she was airborne for the first and last time in this life.
The impact never happened — or, rather, she didn't feel it.
It was like, one minute she was falling down and the next she found herself floating in a void for an indeterminate amount of time…
That was, until a formless figure of grey smoke and bold white glowing eyes that seemed to be the Will of Eras within — he found her.
The two stared at one another, though neither spoke quite yet… until Hazel did…
'Are you an ROB?' she thought.
"I am, young soul," the ROB stated, a ghostly presence with all-encompassing eyes like the simultaneous flares of a trillion suns. "From your memories, you are aware what happens next…"
'Yes,' Hazel thought truthfully in answer.
"Good," the ROB spoke. "You have 1 Penalty, 3 wishes and 5 perks. The world of your reincarnation is pre-decided — Teen Wolf universe. No overly overpowered wishes, so off the bat, God-level wishes are not an option. You can have only one truly overpowered wish in terms of potential. Begin when you are ready."
'Teen Wolf verse, huh?' Hazel thought, thinking of the two guys of that verse she's had a crush on since she was 14. Once she remembered being run over by a truck near the end of the series, the other was a sociopath groomed by 3 doctors to become a monster banished to hell. 'Hmm….'.
Hazel already had her own abilities she wanted prior to death. As a person who used to read Isekai novels like they were her lifeblood, Hazel long since pre-picked powers she would ask for if she was ever in a situation where she could have them. She just never thought Truck-Kun — Or, in this case, Earthquake-Kun — would actually pick her.
Shaking her head to clear her mind, Hazel mentally clenched her fists, steeling her resolve. Feeling herself ready, Hazel looked to the ROB entity, thinking, 'I am ready to choose my wishes.'
'For my first wish, wish for Adaptive Psionics, including teleportation, telepathy, telekinesis — the whole set of psionics and all its capabilities. The only twist is that I have to build up my proficiency in each one and figure out how to use each power by myself,' she thought.
"Granted," the ROB stated. "With this, your primary overpowered ability is granted. You will have every power that falls under the umbrella of psionics, but you'll have to build up both ability and proficiency to said abilities under this umbrella."
'The ability to generate powers and abilities in my mind and to bestow said powers on either bloodlines or individuals,' Hazel thought. 'It would be limited only to my imagination.'
'The ability to generate powers and abilities in my mind and to bestow said powers on either bloodlines or individuals,' Hazel thought. 'It would only be limited to my imagination.
"It's not restricted enough and still too overpowered," the ROB stated blankly. "Add a greater restriction to make it less overpowered, or choose another wish."
'Damn,' Hazel thought before thinking, 'I knew this would happen. Thankfully, I've already come up with a solution.'
'Add restriction 1: When bestowing power on an individual, said individual and I, myself may face unimaginable agony during the time of integration of said power.
'Add restriction 2: I would have no control over when said powers bestowed upon a bloodline activates — Only the assurance that it would either be in the past (no limit to how far back) or into the nearby future (3 days to 6 months max).
'Add restriction 3: Can only bestow bloodline powers three times every 10 years, and individual powers five times every 5 years (Both should be stackable.).'
"Granted," the ROB stated, nodding. "Next wish?"
"Physicality Amplifier, with the option to permanently amplify 3 types of physicalities," Hazel answered. "I won't get to choose how strong each temporary or permanent amplification is physically, I would just know it would be greater than 2x."
"Granted," the ROB said, nodding. "Your 5 perks will be as follows:
"A 5.6/10 luck (fixed)(non evolvable).
"Unrivalled + 8/10 Mentality Strength.
"Superior Insight + Limited Omniversal Insight (Restricted).
"A Great Internal Mental Library, located in your consciousness, filled with every book you've ever read.
"Spirit Anima Transformation.
"Your 1 Penalty will be a -9% Growth rate debuff (permanent) + a 50% debuff on all abilities during daylight hours."
'Well that hardly seems fair,' Hazel thought, briefly bitter before shaking her head, mentally. 'But its whatever. Worse case scenario: I become primarily active at night. Who needs to be a day person anyway, right?'
"Do you agree with this selection of wishes?" The ROB asked.
"I agree," Hazel managed to get out.
"Very well," The ROB stated. "I do hope you'll be entertaining similar to the other transmigrator from your world…"
"Wait, what?" Hazel asked.
Unfortunately, the ROB entity had already waved his hand causing everything to go white.
The light gave way to darkness and I felt myself getting squashed in a tight space — A tight, wet space. And I wasn't the only one inside it.
Though I couldn't open my eyes, a sixth sense told me I was in a womb — With a male, by the shape of body my senses were picking up.
'I feel so stuck, gah!' I thought, as I tried helplessly to move my hand — And moved my leg in the process, kicking the walls of the womb. 'I hope that didn't damage anything…'.
I suddenly felt a consciousness brush up against my own and, almost instinctively, I placed a shield over the recesses of my mind, protecting my true identity from the foreign mind, even as it scanned over the blankness I projected toward it, as a deflectant.
The mind that was probing my own, though I could tell was incredibly powerful in telepathy, seemed satisfied with the blurry blankness I gave off and backed off.
'What a powerful mind,' I thought, heart racing. 'Any longer and they would've bypassed my mental defenses.'
Mentally, the incident merely confirmed my beliefs and my plan. "I need to see if I can bless my bloodline with power."
Imagining three different aspects of a single power — psionics — I thought of the blood in my veins, thinking to stamp the blood with the power I wanted it to have.
'Telepathy, telekinesis and empathy,' I thought, feeling a "click" in my mind, as I felt myself succeed.
Unfortunately, I hadn't felt the satisfaction of success long before I felt myself disappearing, reappearing in a thick forest, as I instinctively willed my form to match up to who I looked like in my last life — An African American 17-year-old girl with braided hair, a natural beauty even without makeup, dressed in blues jeans, a white long-sleeve button-down and a pair of brown leather boots. My eyes, brown, were sharp and almond-shaped and my hat chocolate-colored skin was unblemished. No acne, no makeup, no extensions.
'Okay, I may have of made my appearance a step above the true past me, but who cares?' I thought privately, noting how I was transparent, like a ghost. 'I have a feeling no one should be able to see me, anyway.'
"Are you certain you want to do this, Chieftain? Takes the slave woman as your chieftess? Surely, there's a plenty of beautiful women in the tribe…"
A voice softly, causing Hazel to look up to see a circle of Native Americans surround a chief, who stood by a regal dark-skinned woman in rags, only she was breathtakingly beautiful — And in chains.
"Chayton, I've already told you — The spirits spoke to me," The chieftain tilted his head, eyes never leaving the woman before him. "We need to adapt to the coming invaders, if we're to survive, and there is the old power in this one's bloodline — powerful old power — dating back to the Old World. Our tribe may one day cease, but our lineages may yet survive if we plan accordingly."
I watched as the scene shifted and the man and woman mated and had children. I watched tragedy befall the village and only one son survived.
I watched as that son's descendants would unlock immense psychic powers and some even became seers, guides to the supernatural. I watched different eras come and go — From slavery to Civil Rights Movement to modern day life — And the many encounters with supernaturals like wendigos, werewolves, witches, demons, fox spirits (kitsune) and all the forces of the supernatural; some were not shown in the series — All of them seemed to hold the Hewitts in high regards, with status akin to a werewolf alpha in the community.
It was remarkable that many packs seeked out this lineage, and it only made me question how powerful this ability actually was.
When I did returned to my actual body, only one name followed me back: Hewitt.
Of course, I didn't have to think about it long as I eventually felt the contractions begin to squeeze me out.
I was being born.
