Chapter 7 Assistance from the System
From the age of three, Ash consciously engaged in physical training, and with the blessing of his Super True Human physique, he could contend with elite-level Fighting Pokemon with just his physical body.
With such a monstrous physique, let alone carrying one Serena, Ash could carry several more.
Ash's directness made Serena's small face flush with shyness, like a delicious red apple.
She tightly wrapped her arms around Ash's neck, her head shyly buried in his embrace, not daring to look up and face him.
Feeling the soft jade in his arms, Ash was incredibly pleased.
"Pichu~"
Pichu tilted his head and greeted Serena in Ash's arms.
Serena's pretty face flushed slightly as she responded, "Pichu, hello!"
"Is this Pichu a Pokemon you caught?"
"Yes, I just caught him."
"So cute!"
"Pi~" (•̀⌄•́)
Hearing himself praised, Pichu looked very pleased.
Just like that, the two people and one mouse chatted as they walked out of the forest.
Just before exiting the forest, Ash saw Gary also walking out with a girl.
Gary saw Ash holding a girl and, quite enviously, teased, "Ash, good for you! You've already met a pretty lady so quickly."
Ash glanced at Gary and Koharu's clasped hands and replied, "You're not bad either, Gary."
Serena and Koharu, upon hearing their conversation, blushed again.
"Gary (Ash), aren't you going to introduce us?"
Their tacit agreement dialogue changed the atmosphere.
Then the two girls introduced each other.
"Ash, what's going on with this Pichu?"
At this moment, Gary noticed the Pichu on Ash's shoulder.
"He's a Pokemon I just caught in the forest…"
Ash briefly described the process of meeting Pichu.
"Ash, you're amazing!"
At this moment, Serena's good impression of Ash was completely maxed out; she looked at Ash with great admiration.
"Ding, detected Serena's favorability towards the host is 100. Congratulations to the host for completing the hidden quest — Capturing a Maiden's Heart, receiving 2 Pokemon Eggs (Ralts), 2 key stones, and 2 Gardevoir Mega Evolution Evolution Stones."
The system's voice suddenly rang in Ash's ear.
"This system is getting more and more sensible, really good at assisting! Two Ralts eggs, plus two sets of Psychic Queen's Mega Evolution items."
The rewards were double, and Ash was not the idiot, clueless male from the original work, so how could he not understand the system's intention?
However, these items still needed to be given at the right opportunity; otherwise, if he messed up, it would be counterproductive.
Gary saw Ash lost in thought: "Ash, what are you spacing out for? Hurry up and take Serena back to the camp to see a doctor for her injuries."
Seeing Ash not respond for a long time, Gary reached out and patted Ash's shoulder: "You haven't gone idiot again, have you?"
"Pi?" (Shovel… Bah, Ash, are you okay?)
Pichu also tilted his head, looking at Ash in confusion.
"I'm fine. Sorry, I just thought of something and got distracted for a moment," Ash said, feigning embarrassment.
"What could make you so distracted?" Gary asked, puzzled.
Serena and Koharu also looked at Ash with confusion; from their conversation just now, they knew that the two of them had an unusually good relationship.
"Nothing much, I just suddenly remembered seeing someone else participating in the Summer Camp in the forest. This person seems to be missing a screw loose and also has terrible luck. First, he provoked a flock of Spearow, and while escaping, he also provoked many wild Pokemon…"
Ash made up a lie using Goh's misfortunes.
After hearing Ash's words, Serena couldn't help but compare it to her own experiences today. "Ah? So there really are people that unlucky."
With the contrast, Serena felt as if today was her lucky day.
"No way, can someone really be that unlucky? Ash, you're not just messing with us, are you?"
Gary was full of disbelief.
So was Koharu.
"You can disbelieve it all you want, but the world is just that coincidental. There truly are people that unlucky. If you don't believe me, I'll show you proof when we get back to camp."
Sharing joy is better than enjoying it alone. Ash had already decided that once they returned to camp, he would show everyone the black history he recorded of Goh.
He believed that once those little kids saw Goh's unlucky appearance, their idea of sneaking into Viridian Forest would be aborted, which would also save Professor Oak from worrying.
"Help!"
Just then, a shrill cry came from behind a nearby bush.
Hearing this familiar voice, Koharu's mood immediately soured.
Soon, a disheveled figure darted out from behind the bush, his clothes ragged, his cheeks and arms swollen with several pustules, his buttocks swollen beyond recognition, and a foul odor emanating from him.
The person who darted out was, of course, Goh. Of course, he didn't run out alone; behind him followed two highly territorial and vengeful groups—Spearow and Beedrill.
"Ash, the person you mentioned wouldn't happen to be him, would it?"
With the unlucky person appearing, Gary's eyes were opened, so to speak.
After all, for the two large groups of Spearow and Beedrill to harmoniously attack only one target was extremely rare and unheard of worldwide.
"By the looks of his clothes, it seems like it might be," Ash said, feigning uncertainty.
"Uh, should we help him?"
Serena didn't understand the specific situation; she asked somewhat naively.
Before Ash could speak, Gary calmly analyzed, "There are too many Spearow and Beedrill. With just one Pichu, we can't help him."
"But if this continues, if something happens to that person, Professor Oak will have a lot to worry about."
"Serena, it's okay, the Professor is already here."
Ash pointed to the Dragonite flying in the distance.
"Grandpa's Dragonite?"
As Professor Oak's most valued grandson, Gary was quite familiar with the Pokemon Professor Oak had trained.
Before Dragonite even arrived, its powerful aura scared the Spearow and Beedrill flocks into fleeing back into the forest.
Seeing his savior arrive, Goh, not knowing where he got the courage, found an outlet for his pent-up frustration. He turned around and loudly declared, "You ungrateful pieces of trash, if you've got the guts, don't run! You ganged up on me when I was down and out. When my bad luck clears, I'll catch Mew and definitely come back to wipe out you scourges…"
Before he could finish his threats, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.
Professor Oak, riding on Dragonite, upon hearing Goh's words, suddenly felt like he had saved the wrong person.
And Dragonite's gaze towards Goh also carried a hint of ruthlessness, whether it was caused by Goh's words or by the taunt buff Ash had given Goh, was unknown.
Professor Oak, not noticing Dragonite's expression, instructed, "Dragonite, I'll trouble you to take this child back to the camp for treatment."
"Woo woo!" (Oak, are you floating? You dare ask me to deliver something so smelly?)
After protesting, Dragonite didn't forget to hit Oak with a Thunderbolt.
"Numb… Numbed!"
Finally, Dragonite reluctantly picked up Goh and flew back to the camp.
"Ash, Gary, what are you two…" Professor Oak came before Ash and them, intending to call them to account, but seeing Serena in Ash's arms and Koharu holding Gary's hand, his tone immediately reversed, "You two really! How can you take your girlfriends on a date to a dangerous place like Viridian Forest? If you want to see Pokemon, you can just go directly to the research institute's backyard. If you want to go shopping in a big City, it's not like you can't ask the driver to take you…"
Serena and Koharu, hearing Professor Oak's teasing, were also incredibly shy, their faces flushed, and they instinctively buried their heads in their beloved's embrace.
"Professor, please don't joke around. Serena is injured, and I need to quickly take her to see a doctor!" Ash said.
"Injured? Well, that's troublesome. Dragonite has already flown back.
Then Ash, please bear with it a little longer and quickly take her back for treatment.
Oh, and when you're done, remember to come find me when you have time."
Professor Oak wanted to see if Ash had any impression of that little kid just now. The reason he came riding Dragonite was that he had found out that besides Ash and Gary, three other children had also snuck into the forest.
However, from the current situation, these two little girls were not a big problem, which was a good thing for him. But that boy was different; just from that kid's final rant, Professor Oak could conclude that this kid was not suitable to become a Pokemon Trainer.
Not enough luck, bad fate, and a host of bad habits. Letting such a person become a Trainer would be a great disaster, whether for Pokemon or for other Trainers.
"Okay, I understand, Professor."
Ash nodded in response, then quickly returned to the camp with Serena.
