Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: ?!

Chapter 33: ?!

Despite no fog, Ash's group still managed to get lost in the forest, living up to expectations.

As they passed a small pond, Misty was captivated by a Pokemon drinking water.

"Wow, it's an Oddish!"

She excitedly cried out, then threw out Starmie's Poke Ball, ready to catch the Oddish.

"Misty, wait!"

Ash quickly called out to stop her.

He recalled the process of idiot catching Venusaur in the original work; this Oddish was the trigger and the key NPC for the capture.

As Ash's main force from the beginning, Venusaur's aptitude and strength were beyond doubt; the only criticism was that this Venusaur was very resistant to evolution. It's undeniable that this Venusaur could unleash combat power surpassing an ordinary Venusaur even without evolving, but he wasn't the original Ash. Catching Pokemon depends on both strength and affinity, and this Venusaur still caught his eye.

The First Generation Starters, in their final forms, can all Mega Evolve. Venusaur's skills are also suitable for the Substitute-Poison strategy. After being caught, it would be at least Elite level.

Most importantly, in his opinion, Venusaur's resistance to evolution could very likely be due to Charmander. In the original work, Charmander became rebellious after evolving into Charmeleon. Venusaur and Blastoise's resistance to evolution was probably because they feared resisting idiot if they evolved. Ultimately, Charmeleon and Charizard resisted idiot simply because idiot's Trainer level wasn't high enough to command them.

Ash didn't think his Trainer level was worse than idiot's in the original work. At worst, if Charizard didn't listen in the future, he wouldn't act like a human anymore and would personally have a father-son solo with Charizard.

"Ash, do you also want to catch Oddish?" Misty looked at Ash in confusion.

"No, this Oddish has family nearby. If you act rashly like this, you could easily be attacked by other Pokemon," Ash said, pointing to the bush where Venusaur was hiding.

As he spoke, he used Aura and Viridian Power to release goodwill, dispelling Venusaur's hostility.

"Bulbasaur, Bulbasaur" (This human has some skill, he actually found me.)

Bulbasaur no longer hid and walked directly out of the bush.

[Pokemon: Bulbasaur]

[Gender: Male]

[Level: 23]

[Ability: Overgrow]

[Aptitude: Elite]

[Skills: Tackle, Growl, Vine Whip, Growth, Leech Seed, Razor Leaf, Poison Powder, Sleep Powder.....]

"First Generation Starters, Bulbasaur!" Upon seeing Bulbasaur, Brock exclaimed.

Most of the First Generation Starters in each region are controlled by the regional Pokémon League, with very few wild ones. The probability of encountering a purely wild one is almost comparable to winning the lottery.

Even Brock, a Rock-type Gym Leader, wanted to catch it when he saw it.

"Venusaur... bah, Bulbasaur, hello!"

Ash almost misspoke.

"Bulbasaur" (Hello, human. Thank you for stopping her. Goodbye.)

"Bulbasaur, Bulbasaur!" (Oddish, it's time to go home. Let's go.)

Bulbasaur could feel a very kind sensation from Ash, but Misty's attempt to attack Oddish just now made it unable to fully trust that Ash and his group were good people.

"Quite a personality."

Ash was increasingly eager to catch this Venusaur in front of him.

"Pika Pika"

Pikachu, as if sensing Ash's thoughts, directly transformed into a social butterfly and went forward to communicate with Bulbasaur.

After a series of chattering communications, Pikachu gave Ash a thumbs-up, indicating it was handled.

Ash picked up Kirlia and said to Misty and the others, "Let's go, we'll follow Bulbasaur."

Led by Bulbasaur, Ash's group quickly arrived at a wooden house built by the lake.

Around the wooden house, there were many gentle Pokemon: Oddish, Caterpie, Sandshrew, and so on. These Pokemon enthusiastically greeted Bulbasaur when it returned, but when they saw Ash's group, some Pokemon's eyes flashed with a hint of hostility. Clearly, they had all been abandoned by humans and were already disappointed in human Trainers.

"The eyes of these Pokemon....."

Brock, with his breeding experience, immediately sensed that something was off.

"It's okay, Brock, they should all be abandoned Pokemon. They are just disappointed in humans and have no intention of attacking."

Pikachu and Kirlia, acting familiar, directly went up and communicated with those Pokemon.

"Who are you, and what do you want to do with the Pokemon here?"

Just then, a clear voice sounded.

Ash's group looked in the direction of the voice, only to see a blue-haired girl carrying a medicine basket, looking at them warily.

"Hello, we came here following Bulbasaur. We are not bad people," Ash explained.

"Really?"

The girl looked suspiciously at Bulbasaur nearby.

Bulbasaur nodded.

Confirming the situation, the girl also relaxed.

Bulbasaur was the top bodyguard here, caring deeply for every Pokemon, and would never bring bad people over.

"Hello, my name is Melanie, and I am the administrator of this Forest Sanctuary," the girl introduced herself.

"Hello, Miss Melanie, my name is Ash (Misty, Brock)…"

"Miss Melanie, what is a Forest Sanctuary?" Brock asked curiously.

Misty also showed a puzzled expression; they had never heard of such an organization.

"Forest Sanctuaries are usually built in forests. You can think of them as a low-end Pokémon Center, but their greatest function is mental healing. They heal the inner hearts of Pokemon through a natural environment and quiet recuperation…" Ash said.

Melanie showed a shocked expression, "Ash, you wouldn't also be…."

She felt like she had met a colleague.

"Miss Melanie, I might disappoint you. I am a Rookie Trainer, I just heard Dr. Oak mention Sanctuaries."

"So, Miss Melanie is a nurse then?" Misty said.

"No, the methods I use here are all folk remedies, not from a formal background," Melanie waved her hand.

"Folk methods are sometimes better than textbook approaches."

Ash put down his backpack, pretending to take something out, but actually took out the medicines he had hoarded for several years from his system space. Fortunately, time is static in the system space, otherwise, these medicines would have expired.

"Miss Melanie, these Potions are for you, just a small token of our appreciation."

Ash had wanted to clear his inventory for a long time, he just hadn't found the right opportunity.

Looking at the Potions scattered on the ground, Melanie was overwhelmed.

"Won't this be too much?"

Brock took the opportunity to hold Melanie's hand and said, "It's fine, Miss Melanie, Ash is a Pokémon Doctor, he has plenty of funds, this is nothing."

"What is that thing up there?"

Misty pointed at a strange flying machine in mid-air.

"I heard something?" Jessie's voice rang out from the airship, "To protect the world from devastation!"

"Oh, it's those three again!"
