Chapter 78 - Chapter Seventy Seven: The Child Who Defile Heaven

The silence after the celestial envoys retreated was louder than the battle itself.

Across the realms, the visions Celestia had summoned still lingered in the air like fading mirrors. Kings, witches, demons, and ancient beings watched in stunned quiet as the celestial figures disappeared back into the sky.

They had all seen it.

Heaven had tried to erase an unborn child.

And they had failed.

Lucien stood beside Celestia, the last embers of phoenix fire drifting from his shoulders like dying stars. His eyes were still bright with restrained fury, but his attention had shifted entirely to her.

"Are you hurt?" he asked quietly.

Celestia shook her head.

"No."

But her hand remained over her abdomen.

The warmth there had changed. It was no longer faint. The life inside her had reacted to the attack—like a spark catching air for the first time.

The Spirit Guide appeared beside them, silver light flowing gently across the chamber.

"The child grows stronger," it said softly.

Lucien frowned slightly. "Because of the attack?"

"In part," the Guide replied. "Primal forces adapt when threatened. Phoenix fire and Balance do not yield easily."

Celestia closed her eyes briefly, breathing slowly.

"He felt it," she murmured.

Lucien's expression softened.

"He?"

She smiled faintly.

"A feeling."

Before Lucien could respond, the sky above the palace rippled again—not with celestial authority this time, but with darker, heavier power.

Lucien's eyes lifted immediately.

"Someone else is coming."

The air tore open like velvet splitting under pressure.

From the darkness stepped a tall figure in black armor etched with ancient infernal sigils.

Behind him followed several other demons of terrifying presence.

Lucien relaxed slightly.

"Azael."

The demon commander bowed his head briefly.

"My prince."

His eyes moved to Celestia, respectful but sharp.

"The entire infernal realm saw what happened."

Celestia folded her arms lightly. "I expected that."

Azael's expression darkened.

"And Hell is… interested."

Lucien crossed his arms. "Meaning?"

"Meaning," Azael said carefully, "many infernal houses now believe the child could become the most powerful being born since the First Age."

Celestia's gaze sharpened.

"That is exactly the narrative Heaven wants."

"Yes," Azael replied. "But demons are not known for ignoring power."

Lucien sighed quietly. "Let me guess. Some want to protect him."

"And some," Azael finished calmly, "want to control him."

Before Lucien could answer, another presence entered the chamber.

Smooth.

Confident.

Dangerously calm.

Lucifer stepped through the doorway as if he had always been there.

The room immediately shifted.

Even Azael straightened.

"Your Majesty."

Lucifer's dark eyes settled first on Celestia… then on the hand resting over her abdomen.

"So," he said softly, "the rumors were true."

Lucien's voice turned cold.

"You move quickly."

Lucifer smiled slightly. "Heaven attacked publicly. That tends to accelerate interest."

Celestia studied him carefully.

"You came to make another offer."

Lucifer tilted his head.

"You wound me."

Lucien snorted. "He's right."

Lucifer ignored the comment.

Instead, he walked slowly toward Celestia, stopping several steps away.

"Tell me," he said quietly, "did the child react when Heaven tried to erase him?"

Celestia did not answer immediately.

Lucifer's smile widened slightly.

"I thought so."

Lucien's patience thinned.

"Get to the point."

Lucifer folded his hands behind his back.

"The point," he said calmly, "is that Heaven has now declared your child a threat to cosmic order."

Celestia's gaze hardened.

"And Hell?"

Lucifer's eyes gleamed.

"Hell declares him… interesting."

Azael hid a smile.

Lucien did not.

"You are not getting your hands on him."

Lucifer raised an eyebrow.

"My dear phoenix, if I wanted control, I would not announce my presence."

Celestia stepped forward slightly.

"What do you want, Lucifer?"

The King of Hell looked directly into her eyes.

"Stability."

Lucien laughed dryly.

"That word sounds strange coming from you."

Lucifer ignored him again.

"Heaven has exposed its fear," he continued. "And fear makes powerful institutions reckless."

Celestia nodded slowly.

"You believe they will escalate."

"They must," Lucifer replied. "They cannot allow a symbol of defiance to grow."

Lucien's voice lowered.

"They will try again."

"Yes," Lucifer said simply.

Celestia glanced down at her abdomen again.

"And next time they may not send envoys."

Lucifer's gaze darkened slightly.

"No," he agreed.

"Next time… they may send something older."

The Spirit Guide's light flickered faintly.

"That possibility exists."

Lucien looked between them.

"You both sound like you're expecting a war."

Lucifer's smile returned—but this time it was colder.

"Oh, Phoenix."

He gestured toward the horizon where Heaven shimmered faintly.

"War already started the moment Heaven tried to erase a child before the realms."

Celestia inhaled slowly.

"What happens next?"

Lucifer looked back at her—and for the first time, his tone held genuine interest.

"That," he said quietly, "depends on what kind of mother you plan to be."

The room fell silent.

Celestia lifted her chin slightly.

"The kind," she said calmly, "that does not let Heaven decide who gets to exist."

Lucifer chuckled softly.

"Yes."

He turned toward the doorway.

"Then the realms are about to become very… entertaining."

As he left, Azael glanced between Lucien and Celestia.

"You realize something, don't you?"

Lucien narrowed his eyes.

"What?"

Azael smiled faintly.

"The child isn't even born yet."

He gestured toward the sky.

"And he already changed the balance of power."

Celestia looked toward Heaven's distant glow.

Her voice was quiet.

"Then they should have thought about that before trying to kill him."

And far above the realms—

in the deepest halls of Heaven—

ancient doors long sealed began to open.
