Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Promise Under the Broken Light

Every night at exactly 11:47 PM, she came.

The station was always empty at that hour. The old lights flickered like they were tired of existing. The wind carried dust, silence, and memories no one wanted to remember.

But she still came.

Her name was Elara.

She sat on the same broken bench under the same dying light, holding the same old phone in her hand. The screen was cracked, but she never fixed it. Because the crack happened on the same night he left.

And she wanted to remember.

Three years ago, this station was full of life. Full of laughter. Full of promises.

Full of him.

His name was Adrian.

He was not rich. He was not powerful. But he had something rare — he stayed.

When everyone else left her, he stayed.

When the world ignored her, he listened.

When she was breaking, he held her together.

And on that night, under this same broken light, he said five words she would never forget.

"Wait for me. I'll return."

He smiled when he said it.

That smile.

It was the kind of smile that made you believe pain didn't exist.

The train arrived. The doors opened. He stepped inside.

And he was gone.

No calls.

No messages.

No goodbye.

Just silence.

People told her to move on.

People told her he lied.

People told her he forgot.

But her heart refused to believe it.

Because love like that doesn't disappear.

It can't.

So she waited.

Every night.

At 11:47 PM.

Through rain.

Through storms.

Through tears no one ever saw.

Until one night…

Her phone vibrated.

Her heart stopped.

Her hands trembled as she looked at the screen.

Unknown Number.

A single message.

"I'm sorry. I'm coming back. Tonight."

Her breathing broke.

Her eyes filled with tears.

Three years of waiting.

Three years of pain.

Three years of hope.

And now…

He was coming back.

Or at least…

She believed he was.

She stood up slowly, her heart beating louder than the silence around her.

The train sound echoed in the distance.

Closer.

Closer.

Closer.

And for the first time in three years…

She was afraid.

Not of losing him.

But of the truth.
