Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Advantages of Psychics — A Shy Sabrina

"Excellent!"

Yunqing nodded in satisfaction. After thinking for a moment, he decided to speak honestly.

"I actually possess a kind of insight ability. It allows me to view information about any creature or object."

"Maybe I can accurately assess the potential of a Pokémon egg."

"The League probably doesn't have the technology to evaluate Pokémon eggs accurately yet, right?"

If that was true…

Then he'd be set for life.

He could acquire a large number of high-potential Pokémon eggs in a very short time.

This was extremely important—not only for him, but also for the people around him.

After all, the number of Pokémon contract slots was limited, and there was almost no turning back once a contract was formed.

The backlash from breaking a contract was terrifying.

Therefore, Pokémon potential was critical.

Finding high-potential Pokémon to contract with was absolutely necessary.

As for whether revealing his insight ability to Sabrina was too hasty…

If he put himself in her shoes, Sabrina had already trusted him enough to give him her entire psychic inheritance without asking for anything in return.

Compared to that, revealing this much was nothing.

Besides, his plan to sweep through Pokémon egg shops and purchase large quantities of eggs would be nearly impossible without Sabrina's identity, connections, and financial support.

After carefully weighing everything, Yunqing chose to reveal his insight ability—at least partially.

And based on what he knew of Sabrina, she wasn't the type to leak secrets.

Relationships between people were strange.

Some people could interact for a lifetime, yet you still wouldn't dare trust them.

But others…

The moment you met them, you felt an instant connection—an instinctive trust.

"Accurately evaluate Pokémon egg quality? You're right. We still can't do that."

Sabrina nodded firmly. A trace of surprise flickered in her eyes.

Then she sent another telepathic message.

"That's an extremely important ability. You shouldn't have told me."

"No."

Yunqing smiled and shook his head, his expression serious.

"You're willing to trust me. Why can't I trust you?"

"Besides, to be honest, if I want to maximize the benefits, I'll need your identity and your financial support."

"I need you to take me to different egg shops and help me obtain high-quality Pokémon eggs."

"Would you be willing?"

Truthfully, if it were possible, Yunqing would have preferred to contract only Legendary Pokémon.

But he knew that was nothing more than a fantasy.

Not only was his current mental strength far too weak, but even if it wasn't, Legendary Pokémon were not something a human could easily control.

"Of course."

Sabrina looked genuinely pleased. She agreed without hesitation, stood up, and extended her hand toward Yunqing.

"Let's go."

Yunqing was momentarily stunned by her decisiveness.

Then he quickly stood up, took her soft, pale hand, and felt an inexplicable surge of emotion rise within him.

He could almost hear their heartbeats echoing through her palm.

And he could clearly feel that Sabrina was unsettled as well—her heartbeat was fluctuating wildly.

This time, Sabrina didn't teleport.

Instead, with a faint smile in her eyes and a light blush on her cheeks, she pulled Yunqing forward step by step toward the door.

As they walked, she continued explaining the current state of the Pokémon World, along with key information.

Psychic users—regardless of their initial mental strength or meditation efficiency—had an overwhelming advantage when it came to forming Pokémon contracts, opening contract spaces, and increasing their mental strength.

This advantage was something ordinary people could not compare to.

Furthermore, the stronger a trainer's Pokémon were, and the higher their affinity, the stronger the resonance effect became, accelerating the growth of the trainer's mental strength.

This effect applied even to Pokémon that were not part of their main team.

Because of this, after Arceus modified the rules, most powerful trainers in the Pokémon World could increase their Spirit Level extremely quickly with the help of their many strong Pokémon and high affinity.

Only when reaching the Elite Four, Champion, or Master levels would they encounter bottlenecks.

At that stage, breakthroughs required deep comprehension—an understanding of the mysteries of the corresponding elemental type.

However, those who could rise to such heights generally possessed excellent comprehension and talent.

Of course, there were exceptions—

Dark organizations.

Pokémon hunters.

Trainers who abused their Pokémon.

Certain nobles.

And others with twisted personalities.

Besides psychics, other talents and special abilities had also begun to awaken under Arceus's modified rules.

For example:

Lorelei awakened top-tier Ice-type affinity.

Crimson displayed terrifying combat talent.

And so on.

"Wow…"

Yunqing couldn't help but feel amazed.

"I didn't expect changes this drastic. This world is becoming more and more exciting!"

"And doesn't that mean the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and even Champions in each region are all incredibly strong now?"

Arceus had truly planned everything thoroughly.

"Yes."

Sabrina nodded.

Then she transmitted her voice again.

"However, most people still can't contract their original main Pokémon yet."

"Their main Pokémon are already too high-level, while their own Spirit Level is still far too low."

"So in order to adapt to the coming chaos, protect themselves, and increase their strength faster…"

"Most of them first contract one or two low-level Pokémon with high potential."

"After their Spirit Level increases, they then contract their original main Pokémon."

"However…"

"Gym Leaders and weaker trainers may eventually be unable to contract all of their original main Pokémon."

As she spoke, Sabrina explained the Spirit Level system in detail.

[Trainer Spirit Levels]

A total of thirteen major realms:

Beginner (1–10)

Intermediate (11–20)

Advanced (21–30)

Elite (31–40)

Leader (41–50)

Gym Leader / Lord (51–60)

Elite Four (61–70)

Champion (71–80)

Master (81–90)

Legendary (91–100)

Legendary II (101–110)

Super God (111–120)

Creator God (141+)

Of course, reaching Master level or above was unbelievably difficult.

Unless someone was lucky enough to gain the approval of a Legendary Pokémon, form a bond with it, and receive its support.

"Hiss…"

Yunqing couldn't help but gasp.

"Thirteen levels? The ceiling is insanely high!"

"Your world's upper limit is far higher than ours!"

Although he hadn't personally witnessed the power of each level in the Pokémon World, he still had a rough estimate.

A Kage-level powerhouse in the Ninja World was probably only comparable to a Heavenly King-level trainer here.

Sabrina shook her head.

"Take the higher levels with a grain of salt."

"Humans can't possibly reach those realms."

"A second-tier god level—or even Master level—should already be the human limit."

"Of course… if even stronger worlds merge in the future, then that's another matter."

"Mhm."

Yunqing nodded in agreement.

With the merging of worlds, there were too many uncertainties. No one truly knew where the ceiling would end.

"By the way…"

Sabrina was about to say something more, but by then they had already left the backyard and entered the gym's public work area.

There were many apprentices and staff members around.

Sabrina immediately fell silent.

Her expression stiffened even more, and the blush on her cheeks deepened.

She simply lowered her head and hurried forward without speaking.
