Chapter 9 - Berserk State

Kark woke up the next day and as soon as he get up from his bed, he stare at the clock and realized it says '8:30 a.m, May 9th 1997, Friday. He stared towards the mirror as he beginning to thought to himself.

"I am beginning to realize that I am in deep pain, a very deep pain that leave my heart with a scar that can never be wipe out from existence. A pain that is physically although it cease leaving me completely fine. A pain that is mentally, and although I wake up each times having no bruise or scars on my body—it is a scar. A scar inside of me, a torture of constant false perception mind of mine."

He look at himself deeply and sees his own reflection begin to distorted, he begin to see something. Something inhumane, he sees himself yet it isn't him at all—he felt something inside of him rises and flowing through his blood. He is unaware, unaware of what he is experiencing currently.

Karl is currently experiencing a berserk state on the surface level which we can interpret as stage one of berserker—those who enter stage one of berserker will be experiencing their blood pumping quicker than usual, it coursing through their veins to their brain and every single of their body parts making them both stronger and durable than they ever was. Their perception of time would be different as they experience a bit of time dilation. To be specific.

Let's say Bob would is just your average guy, he would have to dodge a speeding bullet heading toward him on his head all while Bob is just 100 meter away—but in order to do so, he would need to be able to react to it. And to react to it, is to have the capacity of brain that allow you to process an information quicker than that speeding bullet or even near as fast as the speeding bullet that is being shot at the speed of 1235 km/h or 343 m/s.

So what would happen to Bob? Wiell quick answer. Bob die from being shot to his head. Not because he couldn't dodge it or react to it, but simply because his brain does not have the capability to allow him to process the visualization of information right at that moment—so, what if we replace Bob with Tyson who is a special well-trained athlete who has the reaction time of 0.099 seconds or 99 milliseconds instead? Well same scenario as well, he died but he would managed to realized it had been fires and speeding toward him. But he won't be able to move as it would simply be impossible realistically.

However, those in stage one of berserk state would be completely whole different scenario. If Karl were to be exactly 100 meter away from a gun that is about to fires, immediately as the gun has been triggered. Karl heart would beating quicker than necessary, the blood would pumping and his brain would process it in that moment precisely and register it to the entire blood vessels as it would allow his body to be moving as quick than ever—exactly in just 0.10 seconds. Karl would have managed to process the bullet, react to it and dodge it with precision that is abnormal.

Meanwhile for his physical capabilities it would simply be the chemical compound inside his body that rapidly increasing making his hormone testosterone increase significantly—allowing him to be having neuromuscular adaption at will, basically once enter berserker state. He would be entering and activate every single biological mechanism from adrenaline, flow state, noradrenaline basically every single things about human body that works to restraint human from breaking their own body, to no longer restricting it while simultaneously making him to be able to bypass the suffer from being vastly stronger than he should be by making himself became way stronger so it would have no effects to him afterward.

Although there is people who actually could enter berserk state, not all of them could execute it fluidly under pressure. For example, a viking who is near their death while in life or death situation—they tend to tap into berserk state, yet they couldn't fully use it expertly. Due to them lack of three things. Talent, Skill and Flexibility of their own body. They might could cause a huge crater on a wall, or even dodge a spear coming toward them and counter it using their fist. But in the end, they lack the three categories that could potentially make them be much greater.

Karl however, he is different. He possess those three categories making his berserk state qualities much more superior and actually special to be more precise. The reason is simple. Once he enter that state, he wouldn't be aware of his surroundings and he would attack his opponents regardless whether they're armed or unarmed. He would be a merciless killing machine, that only have one goal in mind, 'Kill or Die' it activate that part of his brain to be hyperfocus to kill rather than simply survive. That is why in his case of berserk state is quite special.

Without any further explanation of this narrative that is explaining the brain function and what the berserk state do. Let view of what Karl would do next.

Karl clenched his right fist and throw it onto the mirror in an instantaneous speed where it is blurry and devastatingly inhuman that not just the mirror shatters into speck of tiny pieces—but the wall behind it has a hole that goes through another room, the size of the destroyed wall is 220 cm with the length of 250 cm along with the depth of 20 centimeters. A concrete wall that has a massive size of hole in it that is caused by one person, Karl himself. Realistically, this shouldn't be possible at all due to human body wasn't made to be able pulling off such feat—however, due to Karl Friedrich is an extraordinary miraculous individual. He could successfully do these feats without breaking any bones in his body or tearing off his muscles fibers at all.
