[Warning: Energy levels are critically low. Looking for appropriate worlds to land on…Scanning]
[Appropriate target found. Calculating ship course]
[We have landed on a new world. Unlocking inner chamber. Your new mission will start now. Mission: Colonize the new world and restore humanity.]
That day, the giant spaceship entered the planet's atmosphere and within seconds, it crashed into the ground. The giant thrusters that supported the weight of the machinery could no longer do their work and only managed to avoid critical damage.
It was all thanks to the sensors that had enough energy to activate and deploy the much-needed shield at the last second.
And with this, the final ship of humanity landed on the planet that was humanity's next hope.

The door of the ship unlatched once its sensors detected that it was safe to do so. The inner hatch also opened, and Ren finally opened his eyes, taking in the new world around him.

[Mission Summary: Colonize the new world and restore humanity.]
[Welcome back online, Operator Ren. Your vitals are being measured… No abnormalities found.]
Blank eyes slowly showed light and looked at the familiar panel.
"Ugh, did we finally find something? And I'm still alive? Looks like the gods decided to have mercy on me… if they even exist."
Ren rubbed his forehead, more out of habit than actually feeling sick. The low glow of the spaceship's inner chamber felt cold. But that was to be expected.
Ren recalled turning it to power-saving mode before he decided to enter the freezing chamber. That decision had certainly turned out to be for the best. The power-saving mode had allowed him to not only save the energy needed to make this journey, but also helped him age more slowly.
[CRITICAL STAGE REACHED. PLEASE ENTER FUEL TO CONTINUE FUNCTIONALITY]
The loud alarm broke through Ren's mind, and he rubbed his forehead before he started moving.
He looked in the back section first because that was where the emergency stash was supposed to be. But one look at it confirmed what Ren already knew in his heart - the supply was no more.
But not all hope was lost.
"System, can you scan the nearby surroundings for a stable supply of energy? Any source would do for now."
The system turned red, and a red light quickly flashed across the nearby area. The system processing reached Ren's ears, and he waited for the process to finish.
[Scanning in progress. Suitable material with rating found. Sources: 2]
The map appeared in front of Ren, and his eyes moved over it quickly. The first source was not too far away, so that was where he decided to head first.
Humanity had reached a point in time where their capabilities had exploded. Technology had taken a leap far beyond any point imaginable. Even space travel had become possible. And yet, there was only one thing that they could not help - environmental pollution.
Even if they had the means to save the Earth, it was already too late. The pollution had done too much damage to let Earth remain a livable space. Both human and corporate greed had reached a height where humanity had no choice but to venture into space.
So that was what they did. They created ships and sent them to space in order to find new planets to inhabit. Ren had been a researcher on the team but had ultimately been drafted as a candidate for space travel as well.
Back then, he had no choice but to agree. If not, then his physically and mentally exhausted self would not have survived for much longer.
Thankfully, luck was on his side and he made it to another planet alive. But to ensure his survival, he first needed to find the correct energy source.
Following the map took him to a small deposit with red, shiny rocks. Scanning them told him that this was the energy signature the scan was picking up.
But now that he had found it, he needed a way to get it back to the ship. The small deposit looked hard to break, but with Earth's technological advancement, it was only a matter of time before it gave in.
Ren placed small parts of it into his backpack and dragged them back to the ship. His eyes looked enviously at the battery-powered carrier, but alas, he could not use it at the moment.
[Energy levels are critically low. Power off in 5 minutes.]
"Sheesh, give me a minute. I am feeding you this stuff. Just don't turn off on me all of a sudden."
Ren complained before he opened the furnace converter and threw the small rocks inside.
He did not have much time, but Ren still noticed the terrain around him. At first glance, it looked similar to Earth. The green things around him looked like plants, but he was not sure if there were any more similarities between this place and Earth.
Since he was wearing the 'special suit,' his gravitational force was automatically adjusted. But he had still not taken any chances and used a rope to bind himself to the main ship to move around.
Luckily for him, the deposit was not that far away from the ship, and his rope was just long enough to make it to the deposit.
With Earth's revolutionary technology, it was possible to process the hardest of materials. Even the alien resources he had brought back were not a tough task for it.
[Confirming energy source… Processing started…]
The flames in the furnace began to grow bigger and bigger as the fuel began to be consumed. Ren kept a tight watch on it until he was certain that the fuel source was working just fine.
[Charging battery power: 1%...2%...]
Once the meter started to go up, Ren let out a sigh of relief. The sweat that was accumulating on his brows also lessened.
'Finally, the biggest hurdle has been taken care of. Now I can enjoy-'
The lights around the ship suddenly went off, and the ship plunged into darkness. The suddenness of this caused Ren's heart to sink.
"What happened? Shit-! Was I too late? What do I do now?"
