Grace Harvest Group of Hospitals inside the operation theatre, Denice and her colleagues are performing an abdominal surgery. It's cold and the beeping sound is not doing any good to lower the tension in the room
"Vitals " she said without looking up
"Stable , as BP is 120 over 80 , pulse 82 " the anesthesiologist replied
Denice continued with the procedure, trying to erase the fact matter that she had cancelled her date with Joshua again making it a third time this week
"Scapel " she said and without hesitation the blade touched the skin , a clean , decisive incision on the abdomen.
Layers separated separated carefully, skin , fat ,fascia , the works of a profession, the smell of cauterised tissue filled the air as she controlled the bleeding
"Suction " as she leaned forward, there it was an internal bleeding near the small intestine.
"Clamp " the nurse handed it to her as they followed her lead certain this are flowing well
Then
"Doctor Delavega, pressure is dropping 90 over 60" and with that the room shifted as other doctor started to panic but she knew better than anyone
" stay calm " she said " increase fluids and prepare two blood units , I need better exposure " she spike not like Denice but like Doctor Denice Delavega.
This proved the main reason she had chose this pathway of life , no lies, no romance, no letters and certainly no phone calls to remind her that she had a man who was going to slow her life down
"Found it " she muttered, a ruptured vessel
She structured it with precision, movement sharp amd controlled
Minutes latter, " pressure stabilising "
She exhaled quietly
" close up " she said
As they began structuring the layers back together the anesthesiologist looked at her
"You ever thought of taking a day off ? "He asked
Denice removed her gloves
"Trust me James , life never takes a day off and l have nothing better to do than do my best in serving people " she said proudly
With that she walked out hearding to her office another surgery completed successfully.
I entered my office to find Britney asleep on my couch , how long has she been here but with how deep she was knocked out she had been here for a lot time
" eo Bri , Bri wake up Britney wake the hell up girl , yoh how long have you been here please don't tell me you came here about 4 hours earlier " I said as l took my coat off
" well umm l have been here for 6 hours actually when l can in l was told you had gone to surgery so l decided why not use free WiFi, ate some food and jelly from the hospital canteen , got full and took a power nap , how are you Denice , the lady who is scarce to find " Britney said stretching herself.
" umm now l wonder girl do you even have a job because at this time of the day most woman your age are bussy working and here you're using my office as a mancave for you to nap in such disappointment. " I said as l.was bussy making myself coffee
" well honey it's not like l am old sweetie l am 32 years old and still kicking like a stallion and make two cups of coffee, speaking of Stallion heard you cancelled your date with Joshua again making it third time this week are you sure it ain't spiritual because girl that man is fine and you decided to choose medicine over that meal ticket to pleasure " Britney said
" Sweetheart, first of all , being 32 years means you're grown woman , second of all darling Joshua has to understand that l am an independent woman and third of all do always think with your Virginia because it looks like that to me " I said
" well not always , well l certainly did not come to talk about you and your Joshua l came to pick you up more of like your Chaperone, the girls sent me to make sure you make it to tonight liquor flow , don't want you ditching us again , so sweetie you need to pack your things cause tonight is gonna be wild " Britney said
" umm excuse me Doctor the x ray results for Peter Louis has just arrived so l was wondering of you can look at them now and give me back a review as soon as you can" Noah said
" it's okay Noah thank you so much l will do just that , you may leave " l said already dismissing him
"And oh yeah one other thing , l really would like to say you were amazing back there Doctor l really envy you the way you conducted the operation was smooth and calculated you are indeed the best " Noah said
" Thank you Noah , you may leave " I said
As soon as he left
" giiiiiiiiirrlllllll you better explain to me who the hell is that , cause hmmmmm hmm that guy is so daaaaaammmmmmnn fine , spill the beans who is he ? Gist me now ,like now " Britney said already sitting on my desk
" That os Noah Reyes a junior doctor and intern here and l am.his supervisor, is very good at his job such a talented young man "

"Girl you're saying you have a hotpot like that in your hospital and never thought of doing any actions " Bri said
" what do you mean actions, the boy is 24 years and l am 31 besides work ethics "l said, Surely Britney is bad news
" work ethics my foot if l were you , would be probabaly have made my move by now because girl he is a rare jewellery , hooooo girl l am telling if you don't make a plan l will and l mean it " Britney said
" you know what girl let's get going l need to prepare for tonight it's been long since l last went out with the girls l need to be free tonight " l said as l was packing my things
" you sure you're not forgetting something, the files girl do you want Noah's effort to come and give you these documents to go down the drain, please sweetie. " Britney said as we walked out.
" can l borrow your wig tonight, I don't have time to stop by the saloon " l said
"So much for being a doctor , okay I will let's bounce , can't wait to party " Britney said and trust me this girl is going to be the death of me .And yeap there was no way l was going to apologise to Joshua because for me its work over relationships and that is my term and condition always applied
