Chapter 2 - Chp-2 Married to My Enemy's son

The Kingsley mansion was nothing like I had imagined.

It was colder.

Not because of the marble floors or the giant glass windows __ but because of the man walking beside me.

Ethan didn't look at me once as we entered our so- called "home."

"You room is on the right",he said flatly.

"Your?" I stopped walking." Isn't it Our

room?"

He finally turned to face me. His dark eyes were unreadable.

"This marriage is a contact. Don't mistake it for a relationship ".

The words should have hurt.

But I have prepared myself for worse.

I walked into the bedroom. It was huge, elegant.... and empty. Just like this marriage.

A few minutes later, the door opened again.

Ethan stepped inside, removing his coat casually.

" What are you doing? " I asked.

He raised on eyebrow. "Relax. I am not interested.

I crossed my arms. "Good because I am not either. "

For the first time, a faint smirk appeared on his face.

"Confident.

I don't belong to you ".I replied calmly.

He walked closer. Too close.

"You belong to this family now".

"And you think that scares me"?

Silence.

The tension between us was sharp__like a blade.

Then suddenly he grabbed my wrist__not painfully, but firmly.

" You should understand something", he said quietly.

My father didn't arrange this marriage for love.He wants control.

"Control over what?"

"Over your father ".

My breath hitched.

So this was bigger than I thought.

I pulled my hand away."Than you married me to hurt him?"

His jaw tightened.

"You think I had a choice. "

That was the first crack in his cold mask.

For a second __I saw pain.

Real pain.

Before I could say anything, his phone rang.

He looked at the screen __and his expression changed.

Anger.

Without a word, he left the room.

I stood there alone, my heart raching.

Something wasn't right.

I walked toward the balcony for air.Form there I could see the massive garden below.

And thats when I noticed __

A woman standing near the gate.

She was staring up at the house.

At my room.

Her eyes met mine.

And she smiled.

Not a friendly smile.

A knowing one.

A chill ran down my spine.

Who was she?

And why did she look like she already knew me?
