Chapter 10 - Chapter 09

Y/N~

The moment we step into the Ravenclaw dorm, I let go of Jungkook's wrist and start pacing like I've just committed a high-level crime—which, emotionally, I kinda did.

He watches me from the sofa with narrowed eyes and a cocked eyebrow. "Okay, you're officially being weird."

"I'm always weird," I try, waving my hand dismissively.

"Yeah, but you're normal-weird. This is suspicious-weird. Like 'burying a body' weird."

I freeze mid-pace. "What?! No body! Nobody's buried!" Wow. Good job, Y/N. Totally not suspicious now.

Jungkook squints at me like he's solving a mystery. "You didn't even show me the urgent thing."

I blink. "Huh?"

"You said you had something urgent to show me." He crosses his arms now. "So, what is it?"

Right. The lie. I forgot I even said that.

"Uh, yeah. It's this... book. About magical fungus," I say, reaching randomly for a book on the shelf and pulling out something that's actually Advanced Theory of Charms. Nailed it.

Jungkook doesn't say anything. Just stares. Hard.

"Fine," I huff, flopping down beside him. "I just wanted to get out of there."

"Because Jimin was there?"

My eyes widen for a second too long and Jungkook notices.

Busted.

"What happened, Minx?" he asks, suddenly sitting straighter, his voice gentle but serious.

"Nothing!" I squeak, way too high-pitched to sound convincing. "Absolutely nothing happened. Just... girl stuff. Emotional chaos. Hormones. You wouldn't understand."

He raises a single brow. "I grew up with two sisters."

"...Okay, then you would understand, and I appreciate your emotional maturity, but let's just drop it." I flash him a dazzling fake smile and push myself up. "Now let's go eat dinner and pretend I'm a perfectly normal functioning student!"

He still looks suspicious, but thankfully doesn't push it. We head to the Great Hall together, and I'm just relieved to have some social distraction.

Until—

Dumbledore stands.

The entire room quiets down like someone cast a silencing charm on all of us. His arms spread wide with that usual sparkly-grandpa energy and his beard swishes dramatically like it's part of the announcement.

"My dear students," he begins, eyes twinkling, "this year, we will be hosting a very special event... a Tri-House Tournament!"

Gasps. So many gasps.

My brain: Wait what.

"The Tri-House Tournament will be a friendly magical competition between the houses—Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw. Hufflepuffs will assist as neutral judges to ensure fairness."

Lima across the table whispers, "Wait, what about Hogwarts unity? What kind of Hunger Games plotline is this?"

I shush her, leaning forward as Dumbledore continues.

"There will be challenges—physical, mental, magical—and one representative from each house will be chosen to compete."

I blink. That sounds... like exactly what I don't want to be a part of.

Jungkook, meanwhile, is already sitting taller, eyes gleaming with that "I was born to win this" energy.

"And the winner," Dumbledore says, smiling wide, "will receive eternal house glory... and an all-expense-paid trip to the wizarding world's most exclusive summer retreat in Greece."

Now the entire hall erupts.

Even I perk up a little. I mean... Greece?

I glance across the Slytherin table—of course, Jimin is smirking like he's already packed his bags. He catches me looking and blows the tiniest, smug little kiss.

I nearly choke on my pumpkin juice.

Beside me, Jungkook leans in. "You okay?"

I nod, eyes wide, lips zipped.

But inside?

Oh, I am absolutely, completely not okay.
