(Keifer's POV)
Breakfast should have ended the teasing.
It didn't.
If anything…
It got worse.
Everyone was still at the table finishing their food.
Jay was helping Keiren pour juice into his glass.
Keiren:
"Ate Jay more!"
Jay carefully poured more juice.
Jay:
"Slowly or you'll spill it."
Keiren nodded seriously like he had just received life advice.
Felix leaned toward me.
Smirking like an idiot.
Felix (whispering):
"Look at them."
Keifer:
"I am looking."
Felix:
"He stole your girlfriend."
Keifer:
"He's ten."
Felix:
"And winning."
Blaster leaned across the table.
Blaster:
"He called her Ate Jay."
Ci N clutched his chest dramatically.
Ci N:
"That's emotional bonding."
David rubbed his temples.
David:
"Why are you people like this."
Meanwhile…
Jay wiped pancake syrup from Keiren's cheek with a napkin.
Jay:
"You're messy."
Keiren laughed.
Keiren:
"You're like a mom."
The table went silent.
Felix slowly turned toward me again.
Felix:
"…did you hear that."
Blaster whispered loudly.
Blaster:
"He just called her mom."
Keifer:
"He said like a mom."
Felix raised his hands.
Felix:
"Close enough."
I ignored them.
Mostly.
But then Keiren said something else.
Keiren:
"Ate Jay!"
Jay looked at him.
Jay:
"Yes?"
Keiren smiled brightly.
Keiren:
"Will you sleep in my room again tonight?"
The room exploded.
Felix slammed the table laughing.
Blaster nearly choked on his pancake.
Ci N stood up dramatically.
Ci N:
"THE DRAMA CONTINUES."
I slowly looked at Jay.
Jay blinked.
Then laughed softly.
Jay:
"Keiren…"
Keiren leaned closer to her.
Keiren:
"Please?"
Felix whispered beside me.
Felix:
"This is brutal."
Blaster nodded.
Blaster:
"Absolutely brutal."
Jay glanced at me.
Then back at Keiren.
Jay:
"We'll see."
Felix dropped his fork.
Felix:
"WE'LL SEE?!"
Blaster grabbed my shoulder dramatically.
Blaster:
"He's losing his girlfriend to a child."
Keifer:
"Stop talking."
But inside…
I was definitely annoyed now.
Keiren looked very satisfied.
Keiren:
"Yay!"
He hugged Jay again.
Jay laughed.
Jay:
"You're too spoiled."
Keiren grinned.
Keiren:
"You spoil me."
Felix whispered.
Felix:
"This kid is dangerous."
Blaster nodded seriously.
Blaster:
"He's a mastermind."
I leaned back in my chair.
Watching the whole scene.
Jay noticed again.
Jay:
"You're doing that look again."
Keifer:
"What look."
Jay smiled teasingly.
Jay:
"The jealous look."
Keifer:
"I'm not jealous."
Felix immediately spoke.
Felix:
"He's jealous."
Blaster:
"Very jealous."
Ci N pointed dramatically.
Ci N:
"EXTREMELY JEALOUS."
Jay laughed.
Then suddenly stood up again.
Jay:
"Okay everyone calm down."
Keiren tugged her sleeve.
Keiren:
"Ate Jay cartoons!"
Jay nodded.
Jay:
"Alright."
She walked toward the living room with him.
Keiren grabbed her hand.
Dragging her toward the couch.
Keiren:
"Sit here!"
Jay sat beside him.
They turned on the TV.
Cartoons started playing.
Keiren leaned against her shoulder.
Completely comfortable.
And somehow…
Everyone slowly moved to the living room too.
Felix dropped beside me on the couch.
Felix:
"You're suffering."
Keifer:
"I'm not suffering."
Felix pointed at Jay and Keiren.
Felix:
"He's literally hugging her."
Keiren had wrapped his arms around Jay again.
Jay was laughing at the cartoon.
Ruffling his hair occasionally.
Felix whispered.
Felix:
"You're losing."
Keifer:
"He's ten."
Felix:
"Still winning."
I sighed.
Then something unexpected happened.
Jay looked over her shoulder.
Right at me.
She smiled slightly.
Then patted the empty space beside her.
Jay:
"Come here."
Felix immediately whispered.
Felix:
"Summoned."
Blaster nodded.
Blaster:
"The king has been called."
I stood up and walked over.
Sitting beside Jay.
Keiren looked up.
Keiren:
"Kuya Keifer!"
Then he immediately moved.
Right onto Jay's lap.
The room exploded again.
Felix fell backward laughing.
Blaster screamed.
Ci N pointed dramatically again.
Ci N:
"THE CHILD STRIKES AGAIN."
Jay was laughing too.
Trying to balance Keiren.
Jay:
"You're heavy!"
Keiren hugged her happily.
Keiren:
"No I'm not!"
I stared at them.
Then sighed.
Keifer:
"This is unbelievable."
Jay leaned closer slightly.
Whispering so only I could hear.
Jay:
"You're still jealous."
Keifer:
"I'm not."
She smiled mischievously.
Jay:
"You really are."
