Renji clapped lightly and teased, "That was excellent. Should I give you an award?"
"Renji, stop fooling around," Hiruzen Sarutobi said as he glared at him.
"Where there is light, there must be shadow. You can see the dazzling firelight, but you fail to see the gloom beneath it. A raging fire will only invite the spread of hatred," Renji said calmly.
Hiruzen Sarutobi puffed his pipe and replied, "I haven't fallen to the point of being lectured by young people."
"Lecturing? No need. I just saw your eyes were failing, so I'm giving you advice," Renji said as he patted Hiruzen Sarutobi's shoulder.
So satisfying.
Knowing so much important information and speaking like a riddle master feels great.
"Advice?" Hiruzen Sarutobi asked in confusion.
"You'll understand everything soon," Renji replied mysteriously.
He was not interested in interfering in a teacher-student conflict.
When Orochimaru appeared later, the Third Hokage would naturally understand everything.
"Did you hear that? Grandpa Third said the fire would burn fiercely and eventually reduce the village to ashes," Renji said as he placed his arm around the Team 7 trio.
"Don't worry about the Will of Fire. Become the ninja you most want to become, do the things you most want to do, and don't leave too many regrets for yourselves."
"And if you want to become excellent ninja, don't learn from Grandpa Third," Renji continued with a disgusted expression.
"Grandpa Third is old and just likes to talk too much nonsense."
"Renji!" Hiruzen Sarutobi's face darkened.
Renji was completely lawless.
The Will of Fire was the core philosophy of the village passed down from the First Hokage.
Renji placed his hands on Sasuke's shoulders and mimicked Sasuke's tone as he said, "I am a man who seeks revenge.
Don't talk about any damned Will of Fire. I only want high-difficulty missions so I can become stronger. Only power matters."
Sasuke's face flushed slightly with embarrassment.
Renji had spoken exactly what he was thinking.
That's right.
He only wanted power.
Enough power to complete his revenge.
"Renji!" Hiruzen Sarutobi glared again.
Naruto adjusted his forehead protector confidently and said.
"Grandpa Third, I am a man who will become Hokage. Quickly give Team 7 some high-difficulty missions."
"If you marry Grandpa Third, you'll be the Hokage's husband tomorrow. As your teacher, I'll bless you."
Renji said with an expression like a father sending his daughter off to marriage.
Team 7 stood speechless.
"Renji, stop fooling around!" Hiruzen Sarutobi's voice carried visible anger.
"Coincidentally, there is a mission. A C-rank escort mission," Hiruzen Sarutobi said as he suppressed his anger and threw a scroll toward Renji.
"Mr. Tazuna, please come in."
Renji sucked on his lollipop and sat calmly on the sofa with his legs crossed as he watched the drunken old man walk into the room.
Tazuna.
Land of Waves.
That meant they would encounter the Kirigakure demon.
This mission might actually be interesting.
It was also a good chance to test the power of Hadō #90: Black Coffin that he obtained earlier.
He had used Black Coffin several times before. It was indeed powerful, but he had never used it on a real person yet.
