"Oh no! No!" Peter ran with all his might to Ben Parker's side.
Looking at Uncle Ben's continuously bleeding wound, he said powerlessly with a face full of collapse, "It's all my fault! It's all my fault! I clearly had the ability to stop him! It's all my mistake!"
Natasha looked at Peter Parker in surprise, never expecting that the person she casually saved was actually this kid's relative.
Natasha looked at the flustered Peter Parker and shouted, "What are you standing there for? Call for help!"
"Okay, okay!" Peter Parker finally came to his senses. He looked at the beautiful Natasha in front of him and quickly pulled out his phone to call for help.
As an agent, Natasha was extremely familiar with treating gunshot wounds.
The bullet hit the abdomen. If the bleeding was not stopped, by the time they reached the hospital, the person would almost be dead. Would not all these efforts be in vain?
But what frustrated Natasha was that she had nothing with her now, and to treat this gunshot wound, she would have to use the most primitive method.
"Go borrow a lighter and a wooden stick, quickly!" Natasha instructed Peter.
"What?" Peter was a little stunned. What use were these things?
"If you do not want your relative to die from excessive blood loss, then hurry up!" Natasha shouted.
Peter Parker, as if waking from a dream, quickly turned to the onlookers for help.
Although they did not dare to stop the robber, they naturally would not be stingy with something within their capabilities.
"Here." Peter handed Natasha the items she requested.
Without thinking, Natasha directly grabbed Peter Parker's sleeve, tore it forcefully, and ripped off half of the sleeve.
After wrapping the cloth around the top of the stick and lighting it with a lighter, she instructed again, "Hold him. This will be very painful, but if you do not want him to bleed to death, you must do this."
Natasha still explained a bit, so the little guy would not be unable to accept it.
She directly placed the burning torch on Ben Parker's wound.
The heat of the fire seared the wound and the blood.
In less than half a minute, Ben Parker's wound was seared shut by the torch. Although it was cruel, the bleeding had stopped.
After wrapping the wound with a roll of bandages provided by a kind person, the first aid for the gunshot victim was finally completed.
Now they just needed to take Ben Parker to the hospital and wait for the doctor's treatment.
The surrounding onlookers spontaneously applauded Natasha. This was the greatest encouragement for a kind-hearted person.
"Thank you, thank you," Peter kept thanking Natasha, truly not knowing what the consequences would have been without her.
Thinking of those consequences, Peter Parker became even more grateful to Natasha.
"You're welcome. I just happen to have this ability," Natasha smoothed her hair and smiled.
Soon, the ambulance arrived, and Natasha also got in the ambulance. Of course, this was at Ren's urging. Natasha personally did not want to go.
"Thank you, Natasha. Peter said that if it were not for you, Ben would have been in trouble this time," Aunt May, with tears in her eyes, said excitedly to Natasha.
"It's nothing. It's what I should do," Natasha could not handle Aunt May's enthusiasm and quickly said.
Peter was still muttering to himself, blaming himself. The police had just arrived and showed the three of them a sketch of the culprit.
Peter recognized at a glance that the criminal who hurt his Uncle was the middle-aged man he had let escape.
He clearly had the ability to easily stop him, but because of his own negligence, he allowed him to hurt Uncle Ben.
Now Uncle Ben was in the operating room receiving treatment. Thinking of this, Peter's heart felt as if it were on fire.
The operation ended, and a nurse came out to announce, "Fortunately, the bullet did not hit any internal organs, only the abdomen, and did not damage the intestines.
Because this lady handled it promptly, there was no excessive blood loss. The doctor has now removed the bullet casing.
The patient will stay in the intensive care unit tonight. He can be transferred to a regular ward after waking up tomorrow."
"Thank God!" Aunt May relaxed considerably upon hearing this news.
And at this moment, the guilt in Peter's heart finally eased a little.
"What do you think of Peter Parker?" Ren asked.
"This kid?" Natasha looked at Peter and asked. For her, Peter Parker was indeed just a kid.
"That's right. He just came of age, possesses spider genes, has the potential to become a superhero, and is highly malleable. Do not you want to have your own team? A team full of superheroes," Ren said calmly.
Natasha's heart stirred, and her gaze frequently turned to Peter Parker.
She hesitated, "Will he agree? I do not think he understands what having this power means."
"So, you need to guide him, do not you?" Ren smiled and said.
Natasha nodded upon hearing this. She walked over to Peter Parker and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing." Peter lowered his head, his face full of regret, and said.
"I've seen that criminal. He was stealing in a convenience store at the time, but I did not stop him. I clearly had the ability to stop him. If I had caught him then, Uncle Ben would not be in the hospital."
Natasha patted Peter's shoulder by way of comfort. If Ren had not suddenly said to chase after him, she might not have chased and so coincidentally saved Ben Parker.
"No one can predict what will happen in the future, which is why people need to carefully choose every step they take.
If I had not chosen to chase after him, I probably would not have so coincidentally saved your Uncle Ben. Then you would only regret it more.
Some things, it is not that you cannot do them just because you do not want to. You must understand that with great power comes great responsibility.
Regret is the most useless emotion. The conutry is so vast, and these situations happen every moment.
We cannot save everyone or stop all crime, but we can save the people we encounter and apprehend the criminals we see.
Think about it carefully." Natasha patted Peter Parker's shoulder again and got up to leave.
Everything that could be said had been said. The rest was for him to figure out on his own.
"With great power comes great responsibility." Peter looked at his hands.
He had long known he was unusual, but he had never used this power for good. Now he understood.
Spider-Man, Peter Parker, at this moment, completed his most important transformation.
Although Ben Parker did not die, the impact of this event on Spider-Man would only deepen with time.
