Chapter 33 - Chapter 34: A 16-year-old rookie trainer with 20 years of battle experience,

Link, encounters a Scizor in a battle against a group of Kleavor, who is as strong as a monster. Despite his best efforts, he cannot defeat it… Stats are precisely the reason he became the King of the Forest.

  He can't win!

  He really can't win!

In the end, the team that had gathered to challenge Link disbanded.

Although many Pokémon still wanted to continue the challenge, Link's mental strength was too depleted to support him staying in the Pokémon World.

So, the human and Pokémon agreed to continue the next day, using the Pokémon Cafe as their base, to discuss ways to defeat Scizor together.

When Link woke up, it was already 6:00 AM the next morning.

Fennekin and Finneon were still asleep; their mental strength was much stronger than his, so they were probably still in the Dream World.

He would have to work hard to improve this ability so he could practice moves and tactics with them in their dreams.

Just as the Mysterious Voice said, the Pokémon Dream World is a place where you can increase your strength at a cheat-like speed.

Unfortunately… Link hasn't yet reached the threshold to effectively utilize it.

Putting the Fennekin nestled against his face aside, he woke up early to wash and prepare breakfast for the Pokémon.

Today's main dish was still the Star Peach Berry Bomb, and although its ever-changing and unforgettable flavor made it a favorite for both Pokémon and their companions, Link felt it was time for a change.

"Let's go help out at the café later and learn from their cooking skills; their pastries and coffee seem to be very popular with the Pokémon."

As Link finished making the Bomb using the Pokémon Center's kitchen utensils, the two Pokémon woke up.

Seeing their trainer busy so early, they recounted their efforts after he left the previous night.

According to the Fennekin, for some reason, with Link's departure, the Dream Sky Challenge was no longer open to Pokémon; it seemed only the chosen ones had the opportunity to challenge it.

So it and the Finneon returned to the main island's café with the other Pokémon, resting and chatting, learning about many famous sights in the Dream Realm.

It's said that besides the Dream Sky Battle, there's also a 100-story Tower of Destiny in the Dream Realm.

All Pokémon entering the Tower of Destiny are reverted to their weakest state under the influence of an incredible power, becoming stronger with each challenge.

  "Sounds familiar..."

Link mused, recalling the challenging dungeons in *Sky Explorers* and *Super Mystery Dungeon*.

He hadn't expected these two towers, originally standing in the Pokémon world, to exist in the Pokémon Dream World.

"If you're interested, you can try it. I'll wake you up in the morning."

Even so, he had no real hope, just hoping that Fennekin and Finneon wouldn't be too withdrawn after challenging that notoriously difficult tower.

Just as he was thinking this, Fennekin suddenly jumped up excitedly!

As a result, it jumped too high and bumped into the ceiling, huddled under the covers, almost crying from the pain.

  "What are you playing at..."

Upon hearing this, the Fennekin gestured wildly with its paws for a while before finally explaining the reason for its excitement.

It turned out that while they were resting at the café and discussing tactics, the Whimsicott, having finished its work, wanted to thank Link for his previous assistance.

However, since he wasn't there, the Whimsicott, having heard that Link owned a floating island, simply asked a Diglett she knew to help cultivate a new field, and also gave them a packet of seeds for a secret seasoning that was very popular at the café.

These seeds were now planted in the field outside the hut, and thanks to the properties of the Dream Realm, they would have fresh spicy seasoning in just one week.

"A spicy secret seasoning, huh? I wonder how spicy it will be."

Link pondered for a moment, then said, "Let's make some curry after the seasonings are ready."

But then again, how did the Diglett cross the Rainbow Bridge?

He was immediately filled with confusion, and even after the Pokémon finished breakfast, he still couldn't figure it out.

In the end, Link decided that when he went to the Dream Realm again, he would definitely ask the Diglett to let him see their lower bodies hidden in the soil!

  "Fennekin..."

The Fennekin was a little speechless. What was so interesting about that?

But it also wanted to go in with its trainer. After training all night, the proficiency of several moves had improved significantly.

At this rate, it wouldn't be long before it could master offensive moves and stand alone!

"Well, although physical training in there isn't very useful, training in mental and technical skills is much more efficient because you can recover at any time."

Link rubbed the head of the self-reliant Fennekin: "Don't worry, we'll have plenty of opportunities to train in the future. Right now, your main task is to have fun in the Dream Realm."

Children should act like children. Thinking about studying all day and not playing is just not doing your job properly!

  "Fennekin…"

  Speaking of training,

Link has recently started morning training, hoping to realize his Constitution attribute of 12 as soon as possible.

However, improving physical abilities cannot be achieved overnight. Even spending points only increases talent, and it's still impossible to achieve the superhuman physical abilities that are common in this world in a short time.

Time flew by in eating, studying, and training, and soon it was nine o'clock, the time he had agreed to meet Gym Leader Miki last night.

Link arrived at the Rustboro Gym on time and found the girl at the front desk, who was earning credits while diligently doing her homework.

"Students from the Trainer Academy are starting their internships so early."

"Sitting in the classroom reading books or practicing in the gym, which would you choose?"

Link didn't choose either; he had already figured it out, he could learn on his own.

In any case, after Miki helped him complete the registration and enter the gym, he finally met the Rustboro Gym Leader, Du Juan, who was known as the "high-achieving student who is intoxicated by rocks."

A poised and quiet, model student with ribbon-like hair and pink tights was already waiting at the battle arena.

Having learned from Miki that a new trainer had easily defeated her in the first round and wanted to immediately challenge her to a high-level contest, Du Juan was very curious about this arrogant challenger.

"Hello, Kobayashi, I'm Du Juan, the Gym Leader of the Rustboro City Gym.

" "Battles with more trainers have taught me a lot. I want to apply what I learned at the Pokémon Academy to real battles, which is why I became a Gym Leader.

" "Which Pokémon will you use, and how will you battle? Can you tell me?"

Gym Leaders seem to like to share their Gym's characteristics and thoughts before Gym battles, perhaps as a requirement of the League.

Hearing this, Link smiled and politely said, "Hello, I'm Link from Mishiro Town . Don't let my newfound status fool you; I actually have over twenty years of training and battling experience.

"In my opinion, you're the real challenger. So, Du Juan, can you satisfy me?"
