The hallway outside Room 1806 was too quiet.
Lin Yue stood there for a long moment, fingers tight around the spare keycard. Seven years of trust pressed heavily against her chest. She told herself she was overthinking — until she pushed the door open.
The scene inside froze her in place. Hao Ran jerked upright in the bed, panic written all over his face, while the woman beside him only smirked lazily.
"Yueyue… listen to me—"
"No," Lin Yue said softly. Strangely, her voice was steady. Too steady. "You've already explained enough."
She turned and walked out before he could touch her. Each step down the corridor felt unreal, like she was walking out of someone else's life.
Then a cold mechanical voice sounded in her mind.
[Ding! Daily Sign‑In System successfully bound.]
Lin Yue stopped walking — because something told her this was only the beginning.
