"Wait, when you say the hotel do you mean THE hotel, as in Kevans Hotel?"
"Yeah!"
"And what about our cover?"
"We are wearing excellent disguises Ares, Stop being such a killjoy." Ben says, walking ahead of Ares.
"Why the sudden need to go get drinks?"
"It's been a long night, I hardly ever go out and I want to check the place out a bit"
Ares brows lowers in suspicion "I'm still not convinced, you need to do better than that"
Ben pauses, His expression as though he was trying to search his brain for plausible reasons.
"Okay, fine. I don't have a reason but… you'll still come anyways, won't you?"
Ares shakes his head, a sigh escaping him as he follows along.
They were a few steps from the hotel when Ares suddenly stopped.
Ben, realizing this, turns around.
"Urgghh, don't tell me you've changed your mind already?!"
Ares brushes his remark off with a wave of hand.
"Okay… If it's not that, then what is it?" Ben asks, confused.
"Do you really just want to walk through the front door?" Ares asks.
"...of course not. I'm not gonna just waltz in there, I have a plan."
"Okay, Go on…"
"Was hoping you'd distract the guards at the door and we'd sneak in or something"
"That won't work, the doors are guarded from inside and out"
"Oh! So how do we get in?"
"You're asking me? You're the one who wants to get in so bad and THIS is the plan you came up with?"
Ben rolls his eyes, clearly over it.
"Do you have something better?"
Ares does not respond. He walks to the side of the building and gently brushes his palm against the wall as if feeling for something.
"There are 4 guards by the door and another 4 at the east entrance. 2 guarding the VIP room and 2 at the stairwell to the roof top. If we're not careful, we could just phase right in the middle of the guards and…"
"Wait… did you just use Shadow Sensing?" Ben interrupts with surprise written all over him. "Woah! That's Middle-rank"
"It's not much. I guess I picked up a few things along the way"
"You call Shadow Sensing, a Middle-rank ability 'things along the way'?" Scoffing lightly, shaking his head. "You know, I've always wondered; when using shadow sensing, how can you tell when it's a person or an object?"
"The shadows of people usually move a lot and that of objects are dormant"
"Uh kay.. so what if an object is being pushed or dragged around or the person stands really still?"
He stares at Ben with a disappointed glare.
"I'm just saying, what if..?"
Ares turns around in an attempt to walk away.
"Okay, Fine no more questions"
There is a sudden change in Ben's expression. He walks towards Ares, leaning his torso forward a bit to a more comfortable posture. With both hands placed in his pocket, he takes a halt and begins.
"Large hotels with bars usually have storage rooms located behind them where they store most of the extra drinks and stuff, this hotel is likely to have one of those"
He then proceeds to the left side of the building as Ares follows along "If our guess is correct, then the storage room should be around… here" slamming his palm against the wall.
"All this, just for a couple of drinks" Ares mumbles.
"I assure you, it's definitely worth it, also, there's something about this place that's calling to me in a way. I feel it, it's like a… a hunch"
"If you say so" Rubbing his palm against the left side wall. "yeahh.. it's sort of empty and oddly quiet. Are you sure about this?"
"Well… not entirely, it's just a wild guess"
"Alright then, let's give it a shot" Ares says, slipping his right hand through a part of the wall that turned black at his touch.
The dark shadow gradually begins to spread until it's about the height of a door and wide enough to accommodate a person. He slips in to survey the place a bit and turns around with half his body on the other side.
"You coming?" Passing completely through the wall.
