Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Spider-Man Assembles (Part 2)

Spider-House Underground Base

High-tech equipment ordinary people couldn't understand. A complete mechanical workshop. All kinds of Spider-Man equipment. Most eye-catching were the Spider-Man suits with different styles and functions in semi-circular display cases.

Upon seeing the surprisingly spacious spider base, Peter's mouth was practically watering.

He once possessed these cutting-edge technological devices. As Iron Man's successor, he'd had everything back then that was far more abundant than what existed here.

But all that was in the past. Even without external aids, he was still Spider-Man.

Aunt May clapped her hands. The eyes of all three, including Jordan, turned to her.

She smiled. "Guys, it's time to welcome the newcomers!"

The spider-senses of all three immediately alerted them. They looked up following their intuition.

Three pairs of hunter-like eyes opened on the pitch-black ceiling.

Peter and Gwen were most familiar with it. Shaped like a spider's eyepiece.

Three figures landed gracefully. Though of different heights, builds, and even races, everyone present was certain of their identities.

They were all Spider-Man.

The Spider-Man dressed in a black trench coat introduced himself. "I am Peter Parker, a detective who loves fighting Nazis. My universe is set in 1933."

A girl radiating youthful energy patted the round, red mech next to her. Its display screen turned into a heart. "I am Peni Parker, from New York in 3145. This is my partner. We're the best team."

Finally, a pig wearing a spider suit and walking upright reached out to the three of them. "I am Peter Porker, from a universe full of animals. You can call me Spider-Ham."

"Hey everyone. To be honest, I'm a little confused right now... Wow!" Peter Parker from the MCU shook hands with Spider-Ham. "Why are your hands wet?!"

"Because I just washed my hands." Peter Porker, Spider-Ham, said sincerely. "Believe me, there's no other reason."

Due to the commonalities among Spider-Heroes, they quickly became acquainted.

"Fellas," Spider-Man Noir grunted, driving a fist into the heavy bag with the force of a steam train. "We've got six of us here now. Don't you think it's time we put the squeeze on 'em?"

Spider-Ham, ever the optimist, wiped his hands on his flanks and threw a hoof in the air. "You said it, brother! Time to go whole hog on these guys!"

"Peni just wants to go home..." the young girl whispered. Behind her, the SP//dr mech mirrored her mood, its digital visor flashing a crying emoticon.

Gwen and Peter turned their attention to Jordan, ignoring the chaos. "Not yet," Jordan said, checking his watch. "We hold the line a little longer. The MVP is on his way."

Gwen frowned. "MVP? Who else is left... You mean Miles?" "Based on what you told me, isn't he the Spider-Man of this dimension?" "Yeah, technically," Gwen sighed. "But he's brand new. He's barely figured out his webs."

"Every hero starts somewhere." The voice came from the youngest Peter—the one from the MCU. He looked down, a shadow of empathy crossing his face. "Give the kid a minute. He just needs time to get his head in the game."

"Okay, we can't exactly attack Fisk Tower in broad daylight anyway." Gwen shrugged, indicating she was convinced. "Then let's wait until nightfall, regardless of whether anyone else comes. What do you guys think?"

The afternoon passed quickly. Jordan mingled with the group of spider heroes, reaping a bountiful harvest.

There were too many Spider-Men present. Apart from "Combat Expert," which was confirmed from Spider-Man Noir from the war era, the other two fantasy cards' sources were unknown to Jordan.

Anyway, the card collecting process went very smoothly.

The Spider-Men were ready to strike at Kingpin.

The elevator above finally started moving again.

This time, Aunt May brought down two figures supporting each other.

The two men were of different heights. The shorter one was a young Black man. The taller one was Peter, a middle-aged man with a beer belly.

Both looked exhausted. Their battle suits were stained with blood.

Upon seeing this, Gwen couldn't help covering her mouth. "Miles! How could you..."

"Gwen? So you're one of them too..." Miles helped the seriously injured middle-aged Peter, his eyes revealing composure and determination beyond his years. "Sorry, there's no time for catching up, everyone. I think we need some help."

Gwen and Jordan exchanged a glance. The latter shrugged. "You see, he's ready."

"Okay, you're right." Gwen said, hands on her hips, then realized what he meant. "Let's go help!"

Jordan stopped Gwen from jumping into the elevator. With a snap of his fingers, Miles felt Peter's heavy body suddenly become lighter. When he turned around, he found Peter had been lifted by an invisible force and landed steadily on the red and blue sofa.

Miles exclaimed in shock. "Wow, is this also a spider power?"

Jordan laughed. "No, it's unique to me."

Miles raised his hand. A bolt of lightning danced and coalesced between his fingers. "Well, it seems I have my own unique ability too... Hey, why can you do that too?!"

"Ha, I'll tell you when I have the chance." Jordan teased while displaying his own bolt of lightning.
