Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

EVELYN

The silence lasted for maybe minutes or hours, but I could tell I was going to lose as my surging anger made me unable to keep my composure. as I was about to snap,

"Bring the one they call Myria here."

Kayden's beta beckoned to the female wolf, who gazed at me with scorn before leaving the room. The room once again fell into a bout of silence as we continued our staring contest.

"Grrrr"

Oh my world!!

I never expected my stomach to disgrace me today of all days. I had really been trying to resist the pangs of hunger for a long time already, so it wasn't surprising if my stomach voiced its protests.

"Have the witches make something for her."

Kayden's voice sounded for the first time since I entered the room, as one of the male wolves left to deliver his message. His eyes finally fell on me as all I could feel from him was raging anger. Why was he angry at me? Has the world turned upside down? In my balanced world, I was supposed to be the one angry at him, not the other way around.

"How dare you present yourself to me in such a manner. I remember having them handpick a luxurious gown for you, and yet you appear before me in this dirty attire"

So he was angry that I didn't wear the cloth his maids chose for me. How foolish and stupid of him if he thought I was going to obey him like a naive fool.

"I remember you offering a pact of partnership to me. So imagine if my partner is a mad woman; does that make me a mad man too? Are you trying to bring down my prestige by rebelling against me?"

His voice was calm, but his eyes were literally burning with flames of rage.

Well, he is pretty easy to anger, huh?

And come to think of it, how dare he get angry at me? Does he think the world bows and follows his rules?

"What gave you the right to tell me what to do? You actually slaughtered members of my coven, and you expect me to be happy and obedient to you? You killed my mother just after agreeing to our deal, and yet you even dare to think of getting angry at me? How dare you?!"

Using every bit of energy in me, my voice louder than it's ever been, eyes overflowing with anger as I was just inches from actually spitting on him. What a hateful bastard.

"And as for our partnership, let me remind you that you don't get to decide anything for me or my sisters; you make the decisions for your wolves, I make the decisions for my witches".

Imagine his audacity to call me a madwoman when he truly committed genocide on innocent people who did nothing to him. The room temperature was literally burning as beads of sweat emerged on my body. The gazes of the wolves were now filled with anger as their killing intent locked on me.

Despite the emerging pressure, I refused to back down, now understanding why my mother never stood back. A leader should never let herself be led around like a dog on a chain.

"I see... I'll let you understand why people never dare go against my wishes."

His tone colder than it's ever been since I saw him, I could feel fear creeping in. They was something that made me fear this sinister man, as it was already pretty evident that he was insane.

Just as the feeling of dread was rising, the door opened as the female wolf brought with her my mentor and friend, Myria.

"Bring her to me."

Kayden's order filled me with dread. Not again!! My eyes were already filled with determination to fight it out. Never would I stand and watch any of my sisters be slaughtered again.

With a speed surpassing human limits, Kayden was already in front of Myria as he lifted her by the neck.

"You wouldn't dare!!"

With anger already my new source of energy, I screamed as I prepared myself to cast a forbidden spell that would at least take the life of every wolf in this room and in their territory. I had a feeling he would probably survive, but what is an Alpha without a pack? He is likely stupid if he thought I didn't have any dangerous cards to play.

"Dare me."

Eyes locked with me like he wanted me to entertain him with my actions.

Myria face was red as she struggled to breathe, her hands futilely trying to claw his hands away from her neck.

To hell with this; just as I prepared to drag us all down to the pit of hell, the door was once again opened, this time with it opening with a loud bang. One of the hefty wolves who led me here ran into the room.

"My lord, the Evermore pack has located us here. Their pack came here with full force, my lord."

My attention finally calmed down as Myria was dropped mercilessly onto the floor, still breathing at least. Was the Council already close to locating this bastard?

"So you rudely blasted open my doors all because we were attacked by some unruly wolves?"

Without being the assailant who was the one receiving the full brunt of Kayden's anger, I could literally tell that things were getting dangerous.

"My lord, I…" Never getting a chance at finishing his words as Kayden actually jolted his head from his neck, spraying blood over his face. This man continued to ruin my innocence, as I have never seen such gory murder in my life. His tongue darted out, licking the blood on his lips, his blood-red eyes getting darker as his bloodlust started to rise. Looking at his wolves generals, their blood lust threatening to drown me .

"Make sure none of them survive."

"Yes my lord."

They all chorously proclaimed as they all dashed out, leaving just me, Myria, the headless corpse, and the cruel wolf Alpha. Why slaughter your kind for such a low offense?. Myria was still breathing sluggishly, as she was halfway to hell itself. Kayden walked up to her as I watched him with observing eyes, ready to retaliate at any time possible. A swift chop to her neck, which had me thinking he was about to behead her, only to see her drop to the floor still breathing at least.

"Come, let me show you what real power looks like."Beckoning on me to follow her, I looked at Myria, seeing she was only knocked unconscious, my heart calming slightly as I decided to see how powerful my enemy was.
