The battle began almost immediately, with neither side having any intention of wasting any more time.

The roots themselves weren't much of a problem, as they were easy enough to destroy. The real issue was their sheer number.
Dozens upon dozens of them, popping up like spring traps with enough force to pierce a C-rank being.
Evan understood they were on the monster's home ground, but he still held a massive advantage.
"Guess I'll have to reshape this place in our favor," Evan muttered, seeing that if the fight kept going like this it would only get messier. So he decided to change the entire terrain outright.
