THE DEVIL WE ARE CREATING.

THE BEGINNING OF HELL

PROLOGUE.

The footsteps screamed under the dark night. Slow and heavy like it was trained. Eyes travelled around, looking for the prey. The dagger stayed still, tightly held by the murderous palms. The face was hidden , just the dark that could be seen.

The dark night breeze felt perfect. Only for the devil behind the dark. The movement ceased. Eyes moved, until it reached its prey. Eyes wet and face fearful, her legs moved slowly, trying to escape from the devil. Her hair followed the rhythm of the breeze, covering almost all her face ,but her tearful eye.

The devil legs moved. Filling those made spaces. The prey's voice begged, but that's only a pleasure for the devil. Her palms touched to walls ,begging for freedom. But the wall stood still, there's no where to run.

The devil stood close. The prey eyes widened, the cold fear piercing her skin. The devil eyes were visible for only her to see, dead and sinister.

The devil's palm raised the blade. The steel visible and sharp. The prey fell , voice only creating those low pleas. Her mouth trembled but all made the devil menacing eye glint in the dark, an eye that promise no mercy.

The devil hands struck In the air, the prey's eyes screamed fear. The devil's hands struck down, piercing through the cold , thick skin. The prey breath went slow, and slower it went, as the blade stuck up and down. Again. Until the breathing stopped . The thick red blood already flowing through the cold ground.

The devil remove the blade from the prey's skin. The eyes now glassy and dark.

The devil head turned, fast and cold as he heard the soft footsteps. His eyes saw the little girl, a sweet prey she could become. The little girl's eyes moved around but never touched the devil. The devil turned left ,his legs moving slow and dark, blood dripping from the blade.

The devil knew what's to come. A whole new nightmare he had just created. Her eyes will find those bodies. The body of those she once called family. The devil head turned back, she would have made a good prey. But not today. One day.

One day. She will become a prey.

***

The little girl's hands rested on her trembling legs. Her eyes were red, filled with dried tears, tears she had manage to stop. Her nails peeled her skin as she managed to control the fear. Five people in total, two she found herself – their cold lifeless bodies. Three , the police found and among them was Kyle. Her dad. Her palms went to her face, cleaning the new tears that dropped. Her eyes looked around. The hospital walls felt too white. Too pure, especially for a place where dead bodies are moved out.

Different room, different people, different problems. But one thing is obvious, not all will come out alive. She sniffed , trying to control those tears. A reminder that hospitals wasn't only a place of healing but a place where hope sometimes dies kept ringing in her ear. Louder than the sound of the light.

The hallway door opened. Her head turned. Anger boiled. The man walked closer to her. His face calm as if today is a perfect day. She bit her lips with anger, her legs, without warning moved closer to the man.

" why didn't you come...my...my dad!!" the little girl tiny voice vibrated through the hallway, reaching people that pretended not to hear. The tears fell freely from her eyes, this time she didn't stop it.

The man, dressed In police uniform let out a warm breath as if trying to calm himself.

" it's going to…"

" They are five. And four... four are gone !!" her voice controlled by those tears, came out. Cracked and rough. " and you could have saved them. Only if you had arrived on time. On time!!"

The man stood still, giving the little girl time to let it all out. She sat on the ground, tears dropping non stop.

"my dad might not survive" her voice was miserable. Just like her. The man bent a little and patted her shoulder warmly.

" everything's going to be fine. We'll find who did this. We'll make them pay"

She frowned down at the man. Her eyes moved to the end of the hallway.

" it's all my fault"

The little girl's eyes moved to the man. This time ,her eyes were flooded with regret. Her legs stood making the man's hand drop. Her palms squeezed tight. But that's the only thing it could do. She faced the man . Face pale.

" I hope you do" was what she said before she walked away.

Her legs moved too slow. Like her body didn't belong to her. She was weak .

Her eyes observed everywhere. The hospital that held four dead people. And most of them dead because of her. If she had just stayed put. If she had just done what she was trained to do – obey.

None of this would have happened.

Her head bent slowly. The tears dropping on the cold hospital floor, the water spreading like ink. She stopped in front of the brown door. Her trembling hands moved to the door – pushed it open, letting the dark night breeze touch her skin.

She just wanted to escape this nightmare.

***

Her legs ran faster. Her hands swung as she ran. She kept on running. Not stopping. She just ran, only inhaling the dust her feet created. She wasn't running away from someone. She just wanted to escape. Find that route. Disappear from this nightmare. Everything was complicated for her . It happened too soon. The deaths just too soon.

The memory of her mum's death and her dad falling haunted her. The running ceased, her legs walked forward slowly.

She walked down the street alone . The road stretches ahead of her , narrow and empty, swallowed by darkness . Broken streetlights flicker above , casting a weak circles of light that barely reach the ground. The buildings on either side stand silent and closed, their windows dark like watching eyes. The air is cold and still , and her footsteps sounded too loud in the emptiness. This street feels forgotten, a place where time slows and no one comes unless they have nowhere to be. Just like her.

One thing troubled the little girl more than anything. That statement. Her memory went back to the woman. The bruised, pale bloody face woman.

The little girl remembered everything about the woman. When she met her, before she found those bodies. The woman was silent and unreadable for a while. Then she laughed. Hard and loud. But the little girl could feel it – That laughter was filled with pain, hate, and anger.

The woman walked closer to the little girl, trembling. Her laughter ceased. Her cold look became colder. She opened her mouth, and the only thing that came out frightened the little girl.

The little girl started running again. Trying to forget everything. But the woman's face, her eyes, and her words kept coming back to the little girl. The little girl could hear it in her head. Louder. Vicious. Hateful.

The little girl tried to get It out of her head. But it just became louder and louder. Everything disappeared. Except that statement. That frightening statement. The little girl hands flew to her ears, pressing hard, but the voice only grew vicious and wet.

" Hagehinnom kvar kan. Hamifletzet mitkarvet. The monster is here"

The little girl tried to scream but no words came out.

The little girl stopped running. She only walked. Then it turned to tears. Then silent screams . Nothing could stop this.

The little girl froze instantly. Staring at the car coming. The car came to a halt in front of her. The little girl's eyes scanned the car. The black car with tinted windows. The door opened and a foot wearing heels came out. The little girl watched the woman come out of the car. With eyeglasses covering those eyes the little girl wanted to observe.

"Dear…" the woman from the black car stopped in front of the little girl. She smiled warmly. "I know it's hard. But everything's gonna be fine." The woman's hands touched the hands of the little girl. She held them. The little girl yanked them away. The woman looked like him. But after what had happen, no one could be trusted.

The woman didn't react to the coldness the little girl gave her. She just let the little smile form.

"I understand you are frightened. I would be too." The woman flat voice paused. "But I promise you, I'm going to take care of you. Your aunt is going to take care of you."

The woman was the little girl's aunt. Her father's sister. The little girl's legs moved backward slowly. Her legs trembling a little.

The woman lips curved up, soft and practiced, the way people smile at funerals. Her hands moved to her glasses , and she removed it, showing her flat eyes. The woman titled her head, the streetlight caught the tight line of her jaw. The warmth never reachedt her mouth.

The little girl gazed around, looking for an escape route. But there were none. Three big men stood at her back. Their face blank , with no warmth. The little girl already knew what is to happen.

She was stuck with the woman.

The little girl faced the woman. Eyes locking with hers. And this time, hatred formed with the smile.

The little girl's eyes were filled with questions. Questions that only a few knew.

Was this the beginning of hell?

Or was this the beginning of something else?
