This grey smoke must be from one of the other venerables who has either revived and is yet to reveal themselves, or a venerable who has left methods to interfere with the world and probably assist with their revival. Hmmmmm, there's a good chance this grey smoke means Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable will be trying to revive soon. This Qi fruit core is obviously the revival methods main focus, with how focused Star Constellation is on protecting it.
Fang Yuan felt his Cooking Luck Path Immortal Gu house shake slightly. He instantly inspected his own luck to see why it moved. To Fang Yuan's eyes, his luck resembled a blazing furnace with Qi Sea Ancestor burning in its center. Three smokestacks were coming out of the furnace, releasing lots of smoke. In each of these smokestacks was the luck of Star Constellation, Spectral Soul, and Giant Sun.
Star Constellation's luck resembled a painting of blue heaven but looked thin and wispy. The fact that it was a painting could mean there was some intimate connection between her and painting path, or maybe even Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable.
Spectral Souls' luck resembled a Pitch black Buddha with a hundred arms. It was constantly striking at the smoke, but they were passing harmlessly into the smoke, not disrupting it at all. Fang Yuan expected to see some sort of connection between Spectral Soul and Heaven's will, but there was no obvious connection in the luck.
Giant Sun's luck was a Red Spotted Dragon, which had its mouth open and was absorbing the smoke from Fang Yuan's own luck. For half a step, Fang Yuan thought Giant Sun turned on him, but that idea was quickly thrown out of his mind. Giant Sun wouldn't be willing to allow another venerable to revive, and Heavenly Court would have to pay far above their bottom line to sway him to their side.
Besides, if Giant Sun were to betray their temporary alliance, it would be far more deadly than just stealing some luck.
Thinking quickly, Fang Yuan transmitted a message to Giant Sun.
"Giant Sun, destroying the qi fruit should be our only worry right now, and Star Constellation continues to add layers of defenses around it. If we don't break through them now, we'll never be able to destroy it."
Before Giant Sun could respond, an aura of a rank eight Gu worm exploded from Spectral Soul's body. It had an aura that none of the other venerables had ever felt. It was of no known path of dao marks, and unlike the still undiscovered weapon path, it had never even been seen in the crazy demon cave.
The other three venerables were all geniuses in their own right and knew that one of Spectral Soul's life goals was to create and develop the killing path. He murdered millions in pursuit of his goals, but ultimately failed and was only able to develop the soul path. Despite this being a failure, Soul Path revolutionized the world and changed the status quo.
Spectral Soul was currently being possessed by Heaven's Will and was being used to destroy the heavenly pillars that were separating black and white heaven. While he was being used by Heaven's Will, Spectral Soul was insane and unable to control himself.
Unknown to any of the other venerables or even Heaven's Will itself, Spectral Soul wasn't actually insane but was instead stealing cultivation secrets from Heaven's Will. This new Gu worm was the culmination of his research into the Killing Path.
A single gray bead of energy flew out of Spectral Soul's chest and began to float over to the starlight dragon. The dragon had its own intelligence and determined that this grey energy was a huge threat. It breathed its river of stars over the gray energy, but it had no effect.
The dragon unfurled its wings and tried to retreat, but as it moved away, the gray energy sped up and continued to close in on it.
While the dragon evaded the energy, it continued to rain attacks onto Spectral Soul, who was also chasing it and trying to attack it with its black fists.
It only took a few seconds, but eventually, the gray energy reached the dragon and flew into its body. Because the dragon was made up of starlight, it was fairly translucent. Despite fighting intensely, the three venerables watched as the energy dispersed throughout the dragon.
The dragon instantly stopped moving and just hovered in the air. Spectral soul continued to bombard it with attacks, but the dragon had exceptional defences, and he couldn't break through them.
While the dragon had the potential for an immense offensive, Star Constellation specifically designed it to resist and delay one of the venerables. The dragon had the best defense possible, and even while immobile, Spectral Soul was having little success destroying it.
In the lull of the battle, where the other venerables used all kinds of investigation killer moves to determine the effects of this new Gu worm, Giant Sun responded.
"It is not that I do not want to destroy the qi fruit, but the fact that I do not believe it is possible. Heavenly Court's luck has stayed strong and oppressive since before the explosion, and it has only grown since.
According to my deductions, this should be another one of Star Constellations' schemes, and her desperate defense should only be part of it. According to Heavenly Court's luck, it is possible that Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable or even Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable has already revived, yet has stayed hidden. If that is the case, our offense today was predicted and is a scheme to weaken us before they retaliate."
Fang Yuan felt the stomach of the Sovereign Immortal Fetus Gu growl as he thought to himself.
Heavenly Court is on their last leg and desperate, but for some reason, Giant Sun believes their luck is powerful.
