~Grace~
It is not just anger blooming inside me at how nonchalant Lucian is. I barely ever find myself in situations like this, but I need not be told that he's a prince. And I also need not to be told to respect a Lycan prince .
Even after lunch, Lucian won't stop bugging me. He follows me down to my room, and to bar him entrance, I turn to face him fully.
He looks like he might laugh again, but when I sign, my words are bitter and he knows better than to swallow that laughter. "Do you feel proud of yourself? Do you perhaps think you deserve to be smiling? Recklessly at that, even?"
He goes quiet as he considers me for a moment.
His fingers catch my chin and gently lift my face up toward him. "I'm so curious, Grace. What did you say to get my brothers to agree to the marriage? They won't even marry the High Lycan princesses who have been arranged for them."
"It happened suddenly. Not entirely their fault. I begged Sucre."
His jade-spoked eyes widen in astonishment.
