The past few days have been nothing but strange—but to be expected. I did land myself in an isekai world after all. I guess it can't be helped in a world full of vampires, witches, and elves. What next? A big giant ogre? I hope it's not how they always looked in stories. That is something to be scared about.
I wish and I hope, I try and I beg, but there's no sign of how to go home. But do I really want to go home? After all, I get treated with so much love, care, and attention. I actually learned how to become a decent fighter, even though Drac has been such a strict teacher, always nitpicking the smallest things. Like just last week, when I was holding a defense stance, he didn't like how I set my foot. And if that wasn't the only issue, he always had issues with what I was wearing, saying my crop top was too distracting and revealing... it'd make him distracted. I didn't have a clue what he was on about. Nonetheless, it wouldn't matter anymore once I become good enough to attend the magic academy here, since apparently that was a thing.
Well, different schools, different species ... all are divided. You have the demon school for lower-class magical beings, with a ranking ability of an E-. Then you have the school for succubi—I don't think I need to reread that lore since I heard what those beings are. Then you have elves, witches, and werewolves, and at the top, you have the vampire royal family. The reason why I am able to get in so easily is because of Drac's connection with the school. He didn't give much info on what he does, only saying he holds the highest authority over the school and council. He's so secretive and cold. He brushed me off the next time I asked and even threatened me. He's such a jerk! I asked one question, and this sick blood-sucking monster threatened to snip my tongue out! Damn him. If it weren't for those good looks of his, those rock-hard abs, and his voice too... mnn... that's when...
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?" I asked. A deep voice rang through the halls, one that spoke authority.
"Little pet, I hope you're not drooling over me too much because you may give the maids a hard time cleaning up your pool of filth. Try not to flood the place with your slob..."
I snorted at his snide remark. He's always like this. God, I hate him and wish I could rip that smug, arrogant look off his face.
"Who's calling him nasty?!" I thought. "I'll have you know I was not, and would never EVER in my life give you the time of day, much less think about you! Please, you're not even that good-looking... you're cold and moody. And lastly, you're past your prime. Your face is all wrinkled and shriveled up like... a dick's foreskin. Hardly anything to fawn over."
Despite the closed doors, I could tell he was seething on the inside. There was one thing he disliked most: anyone insulting his face. I heard the footsteps fading out in the distance. It clearly meant I won for the first time. I jumped in celebration, knowing I finally beat his ass. But little did I know, I was in for a long ride for the rest of the day.
As I walked down the usual steps to the kitchen floor, the table was noticeably empty. Instead of a huge feast with all my favorite foods, there was only one thing I hated most: anchovies! I nearly vomited at the sight of them....
a mountain pile full of them. He really isn't serious, is he? Stupid vampire. Maybe his dementia really is starting to kick in with old age, I thought. I simply turned to the servant and asked, "Is this all? And are you sure that's all you have to offer? I'm really starving, and I..."
The maid turned to me and said with a strained, fearful voice, as if she'd just been threatened with her entire clan not to say anything to me, "The young lord said you were a fat bitc—"
"A what?" I raised my brow, looking at her suspiciously.
"I mean, the young lord said since coming here, you've done nothing but eat out our entire food inventory like the sin gluttony was here. He's afraid you'd eat down our entire rations like nematodes."
I almost couldn't believe his words. I wasn't even sure what to feel... angry? Upset? Does he really take me for a big back? That's great, but I'm definitely not eating those things. Surely I can find something to eat, but I was wrong, because after raiding the entire kitchen, nothing—everything vanished, transparent like a ghost. I see, so he really is trying to spite me.
But I will not give up! I yelled with a thunderous might. I took whatever little change I had left and headed out for the market. Hopefully, I can find something good without getting lost. I got this.
I walked through the blind spot where I knew no guards patrol, and the passage led me into the garden. I had spent months digging a dog hole in case anything bad happened, but never did. Oh well, it came in handy now, didn't it? I bent down, crawling through the hole, then clawed my way out on the other side. I was covered head-to-toe with filth, but it was totally worth it. After brushing off my knees, I grabbed the ladder I'd also been storing for escape reasons and placed it onto the left wing of the palace wall. I took my hand and held onto the first layer of the ladder, then my feet. I made sure I was careful and quiet so no guard would rush after me. I made it to the rooftop and started walking and jumping from roof to roof. It was my only escape I'd been planning for months.
