—Westeros, The King's Road to the North, 298 AC—
In a carriage that held Axel Baratheon, who was sitting next to his sister, Myrcella Baratheon, and was braiding her hair, while Persia had her head on Myrcella's lap, as she had her head petted.
On the other side of the carriage were Jacob and Evie Frey. Jacob had his arms crossed over his chest as he was taking a nap. While Evie was looking out the window, feeling the cool breeze of the north.
"Hey, Eve, how was the task I sent you on?" Axel asked, but he did not stop braiding Myrcella's hair, who was still petting Persia's head, but was also reading a book about Visenya Targaryen.
"It's going well, but I still can't find where he hid the gold he stole. I think it's in one of his many brothels, but I can't just go in there and look around, and we have no one in there, nor can we bribe them, while their whores little finger treats them well enough."
Evie spoke about how the mission is going, but also about the troubles. Axel, who looked like he couldn't care at all, thought it over in his mind, then he remembered something he saw as a child.
He didn't care all that much seeing Lysa Arryn leave Peter Baelish's room with a limp, but that may be an in.
"I think that we wait a little more; we don't want things getting out of hand," Axel said as the carriage came to a stop. He looked out the window to see his father, Robert, leave his carriage, most likely to take a piss and fuck a whore.
Out of another carriage came Joffrey and Jaime, who went to an open field nearby, but Joffrey didn't have the most elated expression on his face as he drew his sword, standing face to face with Jaime.
"Im going out there to see how this will turn out. You three stay in here, Persia lets go." Axel said as he got up off his seat, leaving Myrcella's hair alone, as Persia also got off her legs, as he left the carriage, walking over to where Joffrey was.
Left alone in the carriage, Myrcella and Evie could only look at each other in an awkward silence. "So could you remind me how you and your brother met mine?"
Myrcella asked as she looked at Evie curiously, but if one were to look deeper in her eyes, one would see a sadistc amusement, and Evie, after all her time on the streets of Flea Bottom, could see it, but she acted like she didn't.
"I met Axel when he was in Flea Bottom doing something. I saw he looked rich, and I tried to steal from him, but he caught me, and then my little twin brother went and attacked him from behind as we would always do, but he used one hand to subdue him."
She looked out the window at Axel as he was watching Jaime and Joffrey train, but he was very bad at it, to say the least, and she remembered how he had her and Jacob by the neck and felt a shudder of fear,
"But he liked our skill, so he helped in training us to the great..." Evie thought of a good way to say spy, assassins, and mod.
"I know what you do, so don't be worried, I just wanted to hear what you have to say about how quickly he went from choking you in the air… to fucking like rabbits at night."
Myrcella said calmly with no fluctuation in her voice, while Evie, hearing how she knew of her and Axel's... night activities, began to cough up a storm.
While outside, even though he was far away, Axel also began to cough as he looked at an earring that was glowing slightly. Persia, seeing him cough for no reason, looked around for any threats.
"Calm, Persia its ok, nothing is wrong, everything is ok," Axel said as he petted her head, making her calm down.
'What the fuck, I know Myrcella's room is right across from mine, but I make sure that she is not in there when I do it with Evie, so how the hell does she know?'
Axel thought as he looked down at Persia with suspicion in his eyes, while Persia, feeling his gaze, just looked up at him innocently. Axel still had his suspicion, but the practice bout between Joffrey and Jaime was starting to end, so he put his focus on it.
Joffrey was on the back burner as Jaime was only swinging his sword at the lowest possible speed he could, making sure he gave Joffrey a chance to dodge and weave, and if he was lucky, counterattack.
Jaime barely moved as he swung his sword lazily through the air, while Joffrey swung hard and missed as he stumbled close to the ground, but picked himself up at the last second.
"Ha, ha, ha. I think that was enough, Uncle Jaime I, ha, ha, ha. Can't take this any longer." Joffrey said as he was panting after not even ten minutes, it's not like he was fat; in fact, it is the exact opposite.
He has a slightly toned body after the punishment he was given, but he never tired hard, and when he did, he was just never good at it. If he were to fight a green boy, he would win, but if he fought anyone with any training, he would lose.
Jaime, seeing this, couldn't help but let out a sigh. He parried Joffrey's sloppy swing, then swept his legs, putting Joffrey on his ass, also making him cry out in pain.
Axel, seeing this, did not feel surprised even as he watched his mother run up to her baby boy, even thought tommen was much younger and needed more of her attention.
He walked over to his little brother, who was only eight years old. "Brother, what did you think of Joffrey's performance?" Axel asked his little brother as he held him in his strong arms.
"I really don't know it was so short, but mother said he did his best and that's all that counts. She also said that Uncle Jaime could go a bit easier on big brother Joffrey."
Tommen said, expressing his own opinion at first, but then he just copied what Cersei said.
"Little brother, what did I tell you about other people's opinions?" Axel asked Tommen in a serious voice.
"You said other people's opinions are theirs and are not mine, so make my own opinion based on what I think and not what others think."
Tommen said, repeating what Axel had told him so many times, after he caught him just going along with everyone else's thoughts and opinions and not having his own.
"That's right, so what do YOU think about Joffrey's fight with Uncle Jaime?" Axel asked again, hoping that his little brother would say something different from Cersei's.
"I... I think that he was very slow and weak, but he also did not put his all into it like what grandfather sends in his letters, even a lion hunts a rabbit with all its might, but he is nothing like you, big brother Axel, you're so strong and powerful, taking down 3 knights at once."
Tommen said, remembering when Myrcella took him to see Axel train once, even though his mother said it was too dangerous, but Axel always made sure that he and Myrcella never got hurt.
"Haha, haha, haha, that's right, he is nothing like me, but you could be some day, and if you don't want to be a fighter, just do what you want. I'll always be there for you, Tommy."
Axel said as he looked into Tommen's eyes before Cersei came back, and seeing at least two of her sons get along brought a smile to her face.
But Robert came back from the woods with a young servant girl walking behind him with a limp, which instantly had the smile drop from Cersei's face. She instantly took Tommen from Axel's arms and walked off to her own carriage.
Axel didn't say a word while he thought it was a bit rude to do that, but he could somewhat understand, so he just walked back to his own carriage.
"Alright lets get a move on, let's go see Ned," Robert said as he went back into his carriage, as the servant girl went into a different one, and everyone went back into their carriages, and they took off to Winterfell.
In Axel's carriage, the atmosphere was a bit awkward from what Mrycella said after he left, and so the ride to Winterfell was made in silence, only broken by the sounds of the horses and carriages moving.
