Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 - Consumer

"HAHAHAHA~~!"

A booming laugh echoed through the whole floor as something massive penetrated straight through the rubble blocking the entrance.

His figure was large and imposing, just as his voice alone was enough to rattle a man to his bones.

"IT'S ALL FINE NOW. WHY?"

All Might has entered the scene.

"BECAUSE I'M HERE!" And the crowds almost cheered out of habit.

Even the villains could only widen their eyes upon the reveal.

But as the hero and villains locked eyes, Suguru suddenly felt a touch of something small pressing against his head.

He turned his face to a blackened finger pressing against his temple.

All Might's face faltered for only a moment.

"And you are late, All Might" The grovelling voice of Morinou Akihisa reinstalled the fear that was almost forgotten by the coming of the No. 1 hero and the crowd seized their murmur in horror.

His partner Yu also began reeling his arms threateningly, creating strong gusts of wind with every gesture he made, dropping store signs, furniture, and people standing in its way.

All Might's stance lowered slightly making the floor beneath him slightly cracked just from the power it had to hold as All Might prepared himself to leap faster than the Villains could react and rescue the kid in their hold.

At least that was his plan.

"Hey kid, that's your mother right?" The man pressing his finger against Suguru's head asked.

The man pointed his free hand towards Chī, who was now held by Ōshiro who was holding her back from running straight towards him in desperation.

Suguru nodded absentmindedly, but his face frowned looking at his parents' expression, he was always taught to be afraid of villains but these two didn't really do anything after the explosions other than telling them to gather at the lobby.

But Suguru understand when his parents are trying to tell him something and by their expression, he could judge that the two villains beside him are not going to be like the one he has mostly seen on the news.

But All Might is already here, how bad could it be...?

Is what he nearly thought if not for the villain that was pressing on his head to turn his blackened finger towards his mother.

A deafening bang erupted and then a hole appeared.

Perfectly circular, contrasting with the mass of people around it and going deep enough to reveal the concrete foundation underneath, right where his mother had just stood.

He saw no bodies, no blood, not a piece of clothing was left behind.

"Sorry, was that not her? Here let me try again"

Suguru's head war turned against his will forcing him to face the same direction the villain was pointing at.

Another boom.

Another hole in the ground.

Yu began throwing flapping his hands wildly in the air throwing hurricanes at anything that moved. His eyes were bloodshot with veins popping around his neck and head from the Trigger needle that he used the moment Akihisa shoot his shot.

His maniacal laugh was only covered by the sound of blowing wind and the screaming of the crowd.

"S-Stop it!! What're you doi-"

BOOM!

"Oh you're still in shock, sorry Caugh.. I killed your parents, as you watched uselessly, the end"

BOOM!

He wanted to scream, cry, beg, anything to stop the continuous destruction and screaming, so many thoughts were running through his mind it felt like it was going to burst.

Where's All Might?!

Wasn't he just here?

Help.. me...

But his head is getting heavier, a murky dark liquid is flooding the walls of his mind, isolating it from all of his senses, like some sort of dark curtain closing in on his consciousness.

Until a chant broke through the silence.

"Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness. Purify that which is impure"

Now, all that Suguru could see was a space of total darkness, there was no light to see, no ground to step on, and no other objects to see distance.

Until a figure emerges from the darkness.

Tall, unnervingly so, wearing robes like the ones you see on Buddhist Monks and a gentle- no, a seemingly gentle smile on his face hiding another emotion underneath it.

Whether that emotion is pleasant or not Suguru couldn't tell.

"Glad I've finally figured out how to talk to you, Suguru" The long-haired man almost giggled.

Suguru knows this man, at least he'd seen him before, in his dreams, his visions, he is-

"Me?... Are you.. me?" He asked.

The familiar-looking man squinted his eyes with scrutiny as he watched.

"..No.. well technically no but you can say that, yeah"

...?? Suguru just looked at him like he's stupid.

"Well, it's not that important at the moment" The man cuts off.

The older Suguru began walking closer to Suguru, well the younger Suguru,

unhurriedly while the fake smile on his face fades away naturally.

But in place was something better in Suguru's perspective, tired eyes like those of an old retired hero from the time before All Might came, but his face looked relieved, of sorts.

Or fulfilled, like one that has seen the end of a story and said "yeah, I'm glad it ended the way it did," if that makes sense.

"You know? An old man once told me that even if you know someone already, if it feels like the first time you met someone it's only polite to introduce yourself, right?"

Little Suguru just nodded his head in agreement, feeling like he had heard the saying before and agreed with it.

Before he realised that he HAD heard it before.

"I remember that's.. that's from, Eru-san.. right? From the airport.

Aha! I still remember it"

Buddhist monk Suguru stopped in his tracks upon hearing him, now his smile turned apologetic, having already reached Suguru's side he put his hand atop his head, making Suguru look up at him.

"I will apologise in advance for what I'm about to do, but, this is the fastest way for you to learn your technique" Monk Suguru informed him.

"Technique?"

"Oh sorry force of habit, what I mean is your quirk"

Now it was little Suguru's turn to be intrigued, this older version of himself from his dreams could help him use his mysterious quirk?

"Really?! Can-" But little Suguru's excitement didn't last long.

"Can it.. stop them?" He asked the man.

Once again Buddhist monk Suguru turned his apologetic face towards him, only offering it as his form of condolences.

"Are you ready to stop them forever? The first time you do it is always hard to bear" He asked.

Suguru nodded determinedly but then he took a pause, as he began to fully digest the meaning of the words.

"You mean... Kill them?.."

"... They killed your parents, they made you watch them do so.."

His words turned to a sharp whisper, slithering to his ears like snakes as he felt his head getting lighter with each word spoken.

"They won't stop, Suguru.. they will kill every single one of them and they will make sure you watch.."

Every word tried to lull him to sleep, he could feel his eyes threatening to close as his older self put both of his hands on his shoulder.

"They're not humans anymore.. people like them can't be, you know what we called them?"

"... Monkeys " Suguru half-consciously answered, but his hands tightened into a fist as if on instinct.

...

Seeing this the older Suguru sighed, either helplessly or proudly he hadn't decided yet.

Sitting down so both of them are eye level to one another, the older Suguru began, with both hands, joining his thumb and index finger to form a circle while his other three fingers remain extended.

His left hand is placed on his lap in a meditation posture, and his right hand is raised to shoulder level with its palm facing outward, toward the younger Suguru.

"There are only two things you need to learn about your quirk, and both of them are quite simple so please bear with me for a moment"

But little Suguru has nothing more to say, stuck between conscious and unconscious, he once again only nodded his head in response.

"The first step, is..

C̷O̴N̵S̴U̶M̵E̶"

Even while pretending to laugh, Furukawa Yu cannot feel a bit of calm right now.

How could he?

Even after going all out, even after injecting himself with trigger, no matter how hard he tried.

He couldn't even hit one person of the crowd in front of him, as anyone that was about to be even grazed by his attacks, disappeared in almost an instant leaving on a slight blur of blue, yellow, and red in its path.

And from that very moment, he knew that he would not be walking free from all of this once it's all over.

"Oya Morinou, how long do we need to keep this up? I couldn't hit anybody even with the boost, how long do we have to we have to wait until those bastards finish moving out?

...

But hearing no response Yu then turned towards where he last saw his partner standing, or at least where he used to.

Because all he saw was that child, the stupid one that tried to talk to him before, holding a ball in his hand.

A sickly brown ball made of his partner's being as he saw the last bit of him getting warped, elongated, and eventually fused with that disgusting ball, being held by that child.

The kid took a single glance at his horrid creation, then, without hesitation he took it toward his mouth.

Gulp

And eat it.

In one whole bite.

Furukawa Yu didn't know what to do.

Didn't know what to do, as the kid now turned his attention towards him, his eyes meeting those purple orbs surrounded by white.

Didn't know what to do, as a mass of thick fog-like thing began gathering at the kid's right hand.

Didn't know what to do, as the kid's hand emerged from the fog, now with a blackened index finger pointed at him.

Didn't know what to do, as he lost feeling in the entire left side of his body.

And there's nothing he could do, as his body began forcibly contorting beyond reason, an invisible force willing his entire adult being to be pressed down to the size of a cue ball.

But he was consumed all the same.

"How do you think we should proceed, Madam President?" A representative of the National Public Safety Commission inquired.

Inside the main building of the HPSC, a room with a long table surrounded by fourteen seats placed in a well-lit room became the meeting place for some of the most powerful individuals in the country.

On one end of the table sat the President of the HPSC, a woman with a steely gaze, possessing a set of turquoise eyes and ash blonde hair that was slicked back. A picture of stoicism, one that was trained by experience to betray no emotion uncontrolled.

And to her side an advisor standing beside her, his stance deceptively easy going as his eyes scan the entirety of the room and its occupants.

While on the other end of the table, sat a more peculiar figure in comparison.

"While I have full confidence in Madam President's ability to create a beneficial solution for everyone, I believe this is a scenario unlike anything we have ever encountered before and so— I would advise we thread this meeting ahead with great consideration"

There sat Nezu, one of the impossibly few animals that had manifested a Quirk. Though the information on what animal exactly is way above my clearance.

But while the talking animal is quite the character, one that many of the people gathered there had learned to never underestimate, the man standing beside him is what cemented his standing during this very meeting.

All Might, still in his full costume gear standing tall as his cape is swaying slightly in the wind, making his already larger-than-life presence more than it already is.

"How does he do that? We're indoors!"

"Tch, incredible technique"

Representative of U.A High, Principal Nezu and All Might.

"I agree with Mr Nezu on this one, we cannot in good conscience let the HPSC take over his development WITHOUT somehow turning him against Hero Society sometimes in the future"

That was the representative of the Personal Information Protection Commission, and her concern with the HPSC's way of conduct is a shared opinion for no small part of the cabinet.

This created the second of the two main movements that will decide the direction of their meeting, with the other movement directly opposing the first, proposing that they should let the HPSC personally monitor and guide Suguru Wataru until he reaches the maturity to decide make his own decision.

And it was just a coincidence that all past "potential" that the HPSC had recruited choose to work as their agent for several decades before they ended up dead, missing, or imprisoned.

But unlike in those past cases, on this one the HPSC had one major disadvantage that prevented them from doing things the usual way they did.

All Might's distrust.
