Chapter 74 - OPHK: Chapter 74

"After touring this city, Grimm had a complete understanding of the situation here. The flag on the flagpole was undoubtedly Whitebeard's!

But this didn't mean Whitebeard was on the island; it meant the island was nominally under Whitebeard's protection.

Newk's Harbor—this was the name of the island, one of the closest island cities to the entrance of the New World, a relatively prosperous island known for its plant industry.

The area at the entrance to the New World was inherently a very dangerous sea. Normally, the further into the New World one went, the more chaotic it became, and the smaller the chance of survival for pirates.

However, the entrance itself was the most chaotic place because pirates who had just arrived felt they were incredibly powerful!

Therefore, this place served as a place for new pirates to pay their tuition to enter the New World, and that tuition could cost them their lives.

This island was very wealthy, primarily famous for growing sugarcane and brewing rum. Because of this, Whitebeard and Kaido, like brothers, had engaged in many physical confrontations here.

Of course, Kaido at this time was still a reckless and chuunibyou youth, so he was no match for Whitebeard.

Now, Grimm's pleasure on the island was drinking. As for women, Grimm desired them greatly, even in his dreams. Come on, he was a sixteen-year-old man; as long as there were no problems in that department, he would naturally have desires.

However, Grimm had never casually sought out women because he disliked used goods.

Grimm soon arrived at a bar. Unlike other bars, this one featured dancer performances and offered female companionship for drinks. Of course, whether there were more intimate services available, Grimm didn't know. Naturally, as a man, Grimm had a strong libido, and he didn't know if he could control himself.

Grimm chose a seat slightly to the right of the stage. Dancers performed in succession, with new dancers appearing and others being taken away by pirates at any moment.

Just as Grimm finished a glass of beer, five voluptuous women in scant, ethnic-style attire took the stage. As they cast flirtatious glances downwards, they caused the pirates and some residents of the island in the audience to scream with delight.

Grimm poured himself another glass of beer, a smile flickering in the corner of his eye: "No wonder so many men gather here!"

Just as the five dancers on stage were in full swing, the bar door suddenly burst open.

There was nothing particularly noteworthy at first, but when everyone saw who had arrived, their attention immediately shifted from the alluring dancers. Some began to whisper amongst themselves, their faces showing expressions of fear.

"Rod Kraken, so this guy hasn't left yet!"

"Shh, don't say that, be careful he hears you!"

"Exactly. He's a pirate crew affiliated with Whitebeard, practically part of the Whitebeard Pirates. Don't forget whose protection this island is under!"

"The Golden Octopus Pirates, I wonder how they got on Whitebeard's crew!"

Grimm turned his head to look. The man at the forefront, with bronze-colored skin, reminded him of the species he had seen a couple of days ago—fish-people!

That's right, the guy named Rod Kraken was a fish-man. To describe him, he was like Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants, almost identical—bald, and with a large head.

Normally, baldness was a symbol of power, but a bald head with a large cranium usually symbolized foolishness.

"What kind of bizarre fish-person species is this? He's just a colored version of Squidward!" Grimm couldn't help but chuckle inwardly. He hadn't seen such a peculiar fellow during his many days on Fish-Man Island.

He then overheard the local residents next to him discussing: "A pirate crew under Whitebeard? His sons are really all over the place!"

However, seeing the fearful expressions on the faces of many residents, it seemed this Squidward wasn't a good person either.

Of course, this might also be due to the residents' ingrained fear of pirates.

"Oh, look at some new merchandise. Not bad, not bad!" The Squidward and his subordinates walked to the center in front of the stage and sat down.

The hipsters who had been sitting there, nodding their heads and acting fearlessly as if on drugs, were terrified when they saw Squidward approaching with his squelching sounds and immediately scrambled away.

Their actions indicated that this wasn't the first time this had happened.

The five dancers, seeing Squidward's lustful gaze from below, finished their last dance, bowed to the patrons, and quickly retreated backstage.

They had been told upon arriving that they were there to perform, not for other services. And that was indeed the case, but they were expected to accompany guests for drinks!

Immediately, a man in a red suit, like an MC, walked onto the stage. When he saw Squidward and his group, a hint of fear appeared on his face, but he forced a smile and walked onto the stage: Alright, everyone, next up is our tavern's daily selection service for accompanying drinks. I'm sure everyone knows the rules, but for any newcomers who might not, I'll reiterate!

The dancers selected for accompanying drinks do not engage in other services, so please refrain from excessive behavior. If you are too thirsty, we have professional service beauties available.

Furthermore, this selection is not for the guests to choose the dancers, but for the dancers to choose you. The ones accompanying drinks this time are the five dancers from just now!

Bang!

Just as the man on stage finished speaking, he heard Squidward slap the table with his suction-cupped hand and stand up domineeringly. "These five women are mine, of course. Does anyone have a problem with that? Sean!"

Sean was the MC on stage and also the owner of this tavern.

Squidward was the most frequent customer in the past two months and could be said to be the person Sean hated the most in his life.

Originally, the dancers and the women providing other services were separate. But with him, everything was messed up.

Those women who were originally responsible for accompanying drinks but not other services could endure a little squeezing. But for actual services, if the price wasn't right or the girl was unwilling, he, the boss, had to step in.

After all, if such things weren't stopped, who would continue to work for him?

But with Squidward's arrival, everything was in disarray. As a pirate crew under Whitebeard, and with Newk's Harbor being Whitebeard's territory, the mayor in charge of managing this city had to pay tribute to Whitebeard periodically.

This made Squidward feel like he was the local overlord.

He had come to this island two months ago and had found it quite profitable.

At first, Squidward wasn't so arrogant. He simply used money to find women for drinks. Later, he forcibly took a woman for drinks and discovered that as long as he invoked "Pops's" name, no one dared to touch him.

So, he became increasingly brazen.

What was originally just accompanying drinks now required him to have them provide other services. Sometimes, when he got carried away, he even had his fish-man subordinates join in!

No woman could tolerate this.

Many young women were scared away directly. Sean had lost many employees because of this, leading to poor business recently.

Who would willingly be violated by an octopus and not even get paid? Especially when sometimes it was a group of fish violating them—it was simply too much.
