Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Cup

Inside the hotel room, Dorothy sat on a chair, seriously reading the booklet in her hand, contemplating the information within.

"Six types of Spirituality... huh?"

"Light," "Shadow," "Stone," "Cup," "Silence," "enlightenment"... According to this booklet, everything in this world possesses Spirituality, and Spirituality has the six attributes mentioned above. The concepts symbolized by these six types of Spirituality are somewhat abstract, and their names are not uniform; the booklet only provides a brief introduction.

According to the booklet, to step onto the path of the extraordinary, one needs to gather Spirituality. Since there are six types of Spirituality, does this mean there are six paths?

This booklet contains many words of praise for the "Cup" Spirituality. Does this mean that the path that organization follows is the path of the "Cup"?

In fact, Dorothy had seen terms like "Blood Cup" and "Cup" in Edrick's letters before. At the time, she didn't know what they represented, but thinking they might be unique slogans of that organization, Dorothy deliberately added content about the "Cup" in the letter she forged for the An Yin Bureau, so that the An Yin Bureau would take it seriously.

Now it seems that the so-called "Cup" is extremely important to that organization, perhaps even the source of their extraordinary power.

Thinking this, Dorothy continued to look at the booklet on the table. After introducing Spirituality, Dorothy continued to read on.

...

To step into the extraordinary, you must first choose one of the six types of Spirituality. Absorbing a single type of Spirituality is the first step for all who yearn for sublimation. Of course, don't think that there are only six paths of sublimation in the extraordinary world; there are merely six choices for the first step. As for what comes after, that is not something you need to consider now.

Undoubtedly, our society is based on the "Cup." You, who join us, should also absorb the "Cup" Spirituality. You might want to ask, where is the "Cup" Spirituality? But I have already said that Spirituality exists in all things. Every visible and invisible "thing," and even "events," contains Spirituality, the only difference being the amount.

And the "Cup" Spirituality is naturally the same. The "Cup" exists within life, within you and me, within birds, beasts, and fish; the "Cup" is contained within the bodies of all living things! In their blood! In their flesh! Look! The "Cup" is everywhere! It fills your eyes!

Now, are you surprised by this world surrounded by Spirituality, thinking that the "Cup" Spirituality is easily within reach? But now I want to remind you here that the "Cup" Spirituality in the blood and flesh of ordinary animals is scarce and coarse, difficult to swallow, and extremely inefficient to absorb. Only we, the primates of all things! Only our human blood and flesh contain abundant and fresh "Cup"! That is the most unforgettable, incomparable taste!

...

Reading this, Dorothy suddenly closed the booklet in her hand. Her breathing quickened slightly, her gaze fixed on the blurred cup-shaped mark on the book's cover, her expression extremely solemn.

At this moment, Dorothy was still digesting the content she had just read in the booklet. After a moment of pause, she opened the booklet again and examined it repeatedly. The booklet didn't record any path of sublimation; every page was crookedly written with the words "Praise the Blood Cup."

Dorothy couldn't understand it no matter how she looked. After carefully reading for a long time, she finally saw words between the lines: the whole booklet was about "eating people."

Yes, "eating people" in a biological sense...

The preface ended. From here on, the entire content of the booklet was about how to extract the "Cup" Spirituality from human blood and flesh. In short, it was about eating people...

How to kill? How to process? How to eat? How to bleed? How to cut meat? How to bone? Which part has the richest Spirituality? Which part has poor Spirituality? Plus some auxiliary materials for preparation... Although this booklet was small, its content was very rich... It also came with a bunch of illustrations, which made Dorothy feel nauseous.

This is a cannibalistic organization!

At this point, Dorothy finally had a general understanding of the mysterious organization and the so-called "Cup" Spirituality, and she was extremely grateful that she hadn't been caught by Edrick back then.

Although she still didn't know what purpose that organization had for her, just thinking about falling into the hands of such a cannibalistic society couldn't possibly end well.

"Phew... It seems this world is far more dangerous than I previously imagined..." Dorothy sighed, saying. She now somewhat understood why the government of this world needed agencies like the An Yin Bureau. Such cannibalistic societies were completely anti-human terrorist organizations!

The so-called "Cup" Spirituality was indeed bloody. She wondered if there were other societies in this world that pursued the "Cup," and if so, did they also eat people? Were there people or societies that pursued the other types of Spirituality?

Enduring the nausea, Dorothy quickly browsed through the cannibalistic booklet in her hand. When she reached the end, she found a few paragraphs specifically written for Edrick.

...

Now... I believe you have a general understanding of our great path, and are eager to join. But don't rush. For members like you who possess extraordinary items, have a certain social status, and have completed important organizational tests, we have extra rewards. This was promised to you before.

Open the box within the trunk; the reward is inside.

...

Seeing this paragraph, Dorothy was startled. She then shifted her gaze to the remaining wooden box in the trunk. After a slight thought, she took it and opened it.

Then, the contents inside made Dorothy take a deep breath.

In the box, there was a small sealed glass bottle. The glass bottle was filled with dark red liquid, and soaked in that liquid were three fingers from an adult, cleanly severed.

"Calamity..."

Whispering, Dorothy looked beside the glass bottle. There was a note with writing on it. Dorothy picked it up and began to read, finding it was an introduction to the contents of the bottle.

...

These three fingers are the product of a profound ritual. Each one concentrates all the "Cup" Spirituality contained within three adults. They are rare, high-concentration Spirituality storage items.

Eat them all, and the "Cup" Spirituality in your body will accumulate to a qualified level. Then come to Igwinte to find us. We will hold a promotion ceremony for you, allowing you to advance to the initial stage of the "Cup" path—the "Thirster." You will truly step into the extraordinary, become an "Apprentice," and become one of us...

...

After reading the note in her hand, Dorothy fell silent. She then shifted her gaze to the glass bottle in the box, looking at the human limbs soaked in the dark red liquid.

'If I eat all three of these... will I be able to step into the extraordinary?'

Gazing at her reflection on the glass bottle, Dorothy thought this.
