The air atop the Lotte World Spire didn't feel like oxygen anymore; it felt like breathing raw electricity.
Han-ul stood on the edge of the quartz precipice, his [Scavenger's Cloak] whipping violently in the wind. Far below, the city of Seoul was a grid of flickering lights and dying hopes. The golden dome of Gangnam pulsed with a rhythmic, mechanical heartbeat—the sound of the [Culling] beginning.
"The broadcast is away," Sang-hoon growled, his massive form looming behind Han-ul. The Iron Aegis was now a patchwork of scarred metal and flickering orange light. "Every Hero within fifty kilometers just received your coordinates. They think you're here to surrender the Key. They're coming like sharks to a blood spill."
"Let them come," Han-ul said, his eyes fixed on the [Administrator's Key] plugged into the Spire's primary data port.
The Spire was the "CPU" of the city. By plugging in here, Han-ul wasn't just hiding; he was attempting to "Hack the Planet."

[Estimated Time to Full Override: 12 Minutes]
"Twelve minutes," Ji-yoon whispered, her bow aimed at the elevator bank. "Han-ul, the sensors are lighting up. We've got at least twenty 'Blessed' approaching at high velocity. Level 15s, 18s... and I see a Level 20 signature. It's the 'Swift Silence'—Mina."
"Arthur, you take the elevator," Han-ul commanded without looking back. "Sang-hoon, you hold the flight deck. Nobody touches this console until the override hits 100%."
"And what will you be doing?" Sang-hoon asked, his gravity gauntlets beginning to hum.
Han-ul looked at the flickering violet screen in front of him. "I'm going to find the Developer's Console. I'm going to stop the Culling from the inside."
The development was a race against time. The Spire began to shudder as the first wave of Heroes arrived. The elevator doors exploded inward, and a blur of silver light—Mina, the Level 20 Assassin—streaked toward the console.
CLANG.
Arthur appeared out of thin air, his [Latency Ghost] skill sparking. He didn't block her daggers; he simply existed in the space she needed to occupy, forcing her to stumble.
"Arthur?" Mina's voice was filled with a distorted, digital hiss. "The System said you were deleted. Why are you standing with the Error?"
"Because the 'Error' is the only thing in this city that's actually breathing!" Arthur roared, his movements jagged and flickering.
While the battle erupted behind him, Han-ul dived into the code. His mind felt like it was being shredded. The Spire's data stream was a tidal wave of information—every human life, every building, every "Culling" target was a line of text flying past his eyes.
There.
Hidden beneath a layer of "Obsolete Code" was a command line that shouldn't have been there.
[COMMAND: /ROOT_ACCESS_CONSOLE] [PASSWORD REQUIRED]
Han-ul gripped the [Null-Blade] hilt. He didn't have the password. But he had the [Broken Compass of the Architect].
"Compass... find the flaw in the password!"
The needle spun so fast it began to smoke. It pointed not to a word, but to a specific date in the corner of the screen: 2026.02.23. The day the world glitched.
"Input: The_101st_Error!"
[ACCESS GRANTED] [DEVELOPER CONSOLE ACTIVATED (v.0.01 ALPHA)]
A new window opened—a simple, black box with a blinking white cursor. It was the most powerful weapon on Earth.
"Variable Edit: [World_Event: Culling]," Han-ul typed, his fingers shaking as a shockwave from Sang-hoon's gravity pulse nearly threw him off his chair. "Input: [CANCEL]."
[ERROR: Insufficient Permissions. High-Tier Administrator Consent Required.]
"Damn it!" Han-ul hissed. "I can't stop it... but I can Redirect it."
He looked at the Culling map. The "Inefficient" targets were the Leeches and the refugees. The "Efficient" targets were the Heroes.
"If the System wants to delete data," Han-ul muttered, a dark, vengeful smile crossing his face, "let's give it some data it actually cares about."
He began to type a new string of logic.
"Variable Edit: [Culling_Target_Criteria]. Replace: [Low_Level_Biologicals] with [High_Latency_Heroes]."
Behind him, Mina let out a scream of agony. The golden light in her eyes flickered. Suddenly, every Hero on the roof—and every Hero charging up the Spire—received a new notification.
[SYSTEM ALERT: HERO ASSET #04 'MINA' IDENTIFIED AS INEFFICIENT DATA]
[INITIATING CULLING ON ALL HEROES WITHIN SECTOR 1]
The cliffhanger hit like a physical blow. The "Blessed" army, which had been seconds away from crushing Han-ul, was suddenly being targeted by their own god. The Spire's quartz surface began to glow blood-red as the "De-fragmentation Nanites" turned their hunger toward the ones who had served the System most faithfully.
"What... what did you do?" Sang-hoon gasped, watching as his own armor began to flake into pixels.
Han-ul stood up, the [Administrator's Key] glowing with a blinding violet light. "I changed the definition of 'Trash.' And right now, the most expensive trash in the world is wearing golden armor."
The Spire began to moan. In the distance, the other 98 Heroes were screaming as their "Blessings" turned into "Deletion Commands."
But as Han-ul celebrated the small victory, the Spire's main monitor turned pitch black. A single line of text appeared, written in a font that looked like it was bleeding.
[THE SYSTEM HAS NOTICED YOUR ILLEGAL COMMAND.]
[INITIATING: 'HARD_RESET_OF_ADMINISTRATOR_ASSET'.]
[PHYSICAL DELETION COMMENCING IN: 10... 9... 8...]
Han-ul's heart stopped. He had saved the Leeches, but he had just signed his own death warrant in the heart of the enemy's fortress.
