Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The First Battle of Chaos

Kaelhor "Excellent, it's time to teach this old man his place. But control yourself, or you'll be the prey instead of the hunter. Kaelhor says these words and begins to transfer his power to Conan.

At that moment, Ardin looks at Conan with mockery. "I thought you were determined and strong-willed. But for a month I have wasted my time." Saying this, he turns his back on him and prepares to leave the arena.

Conan stands up and raises the sword in his right hand to the level of his shoulder toward the right while looking at Ardin. It was as if Conan possessed an extremely powerful chaotic aura.

Ardin turns back toward him. "You still refuse to surrender. Then forgive me for what will happen."

Ardin, standing in the center, raises his sword to strike at Conan, but Conan disappears at the opposite end of the hall in front of him. At the same moment he appears before Ardin and immediately delivers a powerful strike with his sword.

Ardin blocks the strike with his own sword just in time. But the power of the blow drags Ardin from the center to the other end of the hall. Ardin immediately plants his great sword into the ground to stop himself. The sword tears the floor slightly before stopping.

Ardin looks at Conan standing firmly in the center. "What the hell is this? So you also have a profession. But take me seriously, kid."

Saying this, Ardin uses the power of the rare profession, War Tank. Heavy and majestic golden and red armor forms over Ardin. Two large shields appear floating in the air on his right and left.

With a very powerful aura, Ardin grips his sword with both hands and calls Conan.

"Come… show your master what you are capable of!"

Ardin attacks Conan.

Conan disappears again and appears very close to Ardin, striking him. But Ardin blocks the blow. In the same way Conan continuously disappears and reappears, delivering strikes to Ardin from different directions.

Ardin swings his sword with all his strength. Conan blocks Ardin's powerful strike. The impact shatters the walls, the floor, and the ceiling.

The astonished Victor comes to his senses for a moment. "At this rate you'll destroy the entire street."

Conan appears again in the center. Ardin, gripping his sword with both hands, looks at him and thinks to himself, "This isn't a rare profession! This is something completely different! I can feel he isn't coming at me with full power."

He steadies himself and shouts at Conan.

"Even if you have power, is this all you can do? Come at me, kid. Your master will take good care of you."

Conan raises his sword again, but this time it is as if a black aura forms around the sword and covers his entire body.

Ardin thinks to himself, "I think a powerful strike is coming now."

At that moment Conan disappears from the center and appears above Ardin's head, delivering a powerful blow.

Although Ardin blocks the strike with his sword, the force is so heavy that Ardin drops his left knee to the ground and, pushing strength through his other leg into his body, shouts while trying to deflect the strike coming from Conan above his head.

Conan, with emotionless eyes, pushes his sword forward a little more, and the wall behind Ardin completely collapses and scatters into the street.

Conan disappears again and this time stands before Ardin, who is on his knees and has weakly planted his sword into the ground. He raises his sword to strike him.

At that moment Victor shouts, "Conan… Stop! Master has already surrendered! What are you doing!"

Conan holds his sword in the air. Then he lowers it. The sword falls from Conan's hand onto the shattered floor.

Conan first falls to his knees and then onto his back, losing consciousness.

Ardin raises his head, first looking at Victor and then at the destroyed surroundings. "What the hell was that!?" he says.

Everything burns like hell. The surroundings are in chaos.

A voice is heard. "Look around you. You are the one responsible for all of this."

A voice answers it. "I only protected."

The voice replies. "You do not destroy in order to protect. That is why you deserve eternal torment!"

For a moment everything burns and is destroyed.

Conan suddenly wakes from the dream with a jolt and feverish breath.

"Ahhhh…"

Victor is sitting on a chair beside Conan. "Friend, you woke up."

Conan "What happened!? Where am I?"

Victor "At your home."

Conan "Master Ardin. The last thing I remember, we were fighting. The training hall was destroyed. Is he alright!?"

Victor "Friend, don't worry, everything is fine. Don't strain yourself. We'll talk in detail tomorrow. Rest. I'm leaving."

Conan nods to Victor in agreement. Victor says goodbye to Conan and goes home.

Conan "Kaelhor, what happened?"

Kaelhor "Fool, I told you to control yourself. Because you had not fully assimilated my power, you kept overloading yourself with it repeatedly. Then you tried to suppress all that power, and you lost consciousness."

Conan "What happened after I passed out?"

Kaelhor "Because I temporarily merged with you, my consciousness was asleep together with yours. That is why I know nothing."

Conan "Is that possible? I can use your power? Why did you tell me that for now I could do nothing except talk with you?"

Kaelhor "I did not lie to you. If you want my power completely and properly, you must go to my tomb and assimilate it there. As for what happened today, I can always do this, but there are side effects like this. The only safe way to test it was during a fight with that old man. That's why I didn't tell you until now."

Conan "So that day you deliberately told me to choose him as my master. He was a suitable person to test your power."

Kaelhor "Not only because of his strength. At the same time he had to be someone trustworthy. Imagine what would have happened if you had used this power somewhere else against other people. You would have lost consciousness like this. But when you woke up, it would not be in your bed. You would wake up on an execution platform."

Conan "I understand. But you told me you would become silent for a while. Yet you are talking to me now."

Kaelhor "I told you that while I was giving my power to you. Because at that moment we completely merge. Both of our wills become one. I do not speak. We act."

Conan "Do you think Ardin will cause problems about this power?"

Kaelhor "Don't worry. He won't cause any problem."

Conan "What makes you say that?"

Kaelhor "Because, like me, he wanted to reveal your hidden potential. And at least as much as Victor, he also knows that you are not a demon. On the contrary, this will make him even more curious."

Conan "So you are saying we will meet the Master many more times?"

Kaelhor laughs. "Ha..ha..ha.. time will show that. But know this: even if you want to, I will not allow this power to be used openly without my consent. Not until you go to my crypt and fully assimilate my power. Remember this well. The power you currently possess is not limitless, you are simply paying a price. If you do not use it in the right way at the right time, when you are the hunter you will become the prey. If you want this power to be limitless and endless, you must only do as I say."

Conan "I told you before. I have no intention of releasing chaos into this world through my body."

Kaelhor laughs again. "Ha..ha..ha.. Human, go sleep and rest, you are very tired. As I said, time will show this, not us."

Kaelhor falls silent. Conan places his hand on his face and falls asleep while sinking into deep thoughts.

The next morning Conan gets out of bed, puts on his clothes, and goes outside. On the street Victor greets him.

"Friend, did you sleep well?"

Conan "My head hurt a little, but nothing serious."

Conan and Victor begin walking down the street.

Victor "Today our punishment finally ends and we return to our post."

Conan "Yes, you are right, but I see it not as the end of punishment but as the end of rest."

Victor bites his lips and finally asks the real question in his mind.

"Friend, don't you have anything to say about what happened yesterday?"

Conan lowers his head and then looks at Victor.

"Victor, I will tell you everything, just give me a little time."

Victor "No problem, friend. We are together every day anyway. You can tell me when you collect yourself."

Conan smiles at Victor.

"Friend, it's good that you exist. Otherwise I would feel lonely."

Victor throws his arm around his neck and laughs.

"Of course, we are the closest friends after all."

Both of them laugh and walk toward the city gate. Victor takes the left side of the gate and Conan the right.

At that moment General Lorand, along with several warriors, exits the city with Luis and his party behind him.

Lorand sees Conan and Victor and stops. He gets down from his horse and approaches them.

"So your punishment is over."

Conan "Yes, General."

Victor thinks to himself, "Didn't he forget us?"

Lorand looks at Victor.

"Did you enjoy the punishment? Were the errands good, or did you cause trouble again?"

Victor "No, General! We caused no trouble."

Lorand "If I see or hear any problem from you two again, you will not escape with simple errands."

Conan and Victor "Yes, General."

Lorand turns to leave. But at that moment a voice is heard from behind.

"Lorand, I want to speak with you about those two young men."

Lorand immediately turns back and straightens his posture.

"Master Ardin, General Lorand greets you."
