Elian walked into the room. Ms. Beck was pouring wine for Lucien and Cassian's glasses.
He paused at the door, glancing over at Leonard, who stood quietly at the corner.
"Excuse us, Ms. Beck," Lucien said calmly.
She bowed and left.
"Elian," Lucien called, standing from his chair.
"Please, sit." He walked over and held out his hand to Elian, his stance unsure.
Elian ignored his hand and walked around the desk, standing right in front of Leonard.
"Speak," he said, staring right into Leonard's eyes.
"I... I—"
"Sorry we're late," Rowan stepped through the door, Soren moving behind him.
"Thought you were dining with Rowena?" Cassian asked Rowan.
Rowan smirked. "I bored her to sleep."
"Sit," Soren gently held out a chair for Rowan.
"Thanks."
"I'm sorry, I was forced..." Leonard said in a trembling voice.
A knock came at the door again.
Lucien gritted his teeth and glared at the door. "I told you to leave, Ms. Beck—"
