His kiss was a contradiction.
There was softness in it. An almost careful tenderness in the way his lips first moved against mine, but beneath that was something else. A hungrier, restrained intensity that pulsed through every movement, as though he was fighting himself even as he gave in.
A shiver ran down my spine.
I had never been kissed before.
I had imagined it late at night. In those quiet moments when my thoughts wandered. I had pictured something gentle, something sweet, and romantic.

A low groan rumbled in his chest. His hand came up to cup my cheek, firmly anchoring me in place, while the other wrapped tightly around my waist, pulling me closer and closer until there was no space left between us.
