Chapter 1 - Tesseract Realm

Boötes Reach: The Great Battle

The vast emptiness of the Boötes Reach had transformed into something incredible. Six enormous space fortresses now hung in the cold vacuum, their surfaces covered with shimmering Manifold Armor that pulsed with slow, powerful energy. It was a breathtaking sight—like ancient knights standing ready in the middle of the stars.

"Everyone, hold your lines!" the Flagship General's voice boomed across all channels. "Do not allow these Orc hordes to cross our defense line, or our galaxy will be doomed!"

The six fortresses, each commanded by a Master Manifold Realm General, began to move. They steered carefully through the void, positioning themselves to completely cover the growing space breach. But the tear in reality kept widening. Savage Orc grunts swarmed out like a green tidal wave, riding in strange semi-biological ships that looked alive and hungry.

The first wave of the attack hit hard and fast. Fortress gates swung open with a metallic roar. Advance Manifold Realm Lieutenant Generals launched their battleships, followed by fast swarms of frigates and destroyers. The ships raced forward and stopped at the perfect tactical distance. Then the railguns opened up.

Bright streaks of fire lit up the darkness. Explosions bloomed everywhere as the savage Orc grunts were torn apart. Cheers erupted inside the fortresses, but everyone knew this was only the beginning.

Soon, blooded veteran Orcs started pouring through the breach. These were bigger, meaner, and way smarter. They charged with wild battle cries that echoed through the vacuum via special transmitters.

"All Colonels on the battleships, dispatch the mecha units!" the General commanded. "Intercept those blooded veterans now!"

Battleship dock gates opened wide. Under the sharp eyes of the control staff, huge mechas began to emerge, stomping into space like metal giants ready for war.

I stood at the center of the flagship's command center, staring out through the floor-to-ceiling window. My name was Kaelen, and I wore my sharp blue Colonel's uniform. The battlefield outside was pure chaos—flashes of light, exploding ships, and roaring monsters everywhere.

A soft voice came from behind me.

"Kaelen… are you feeling afraid?" Seraphine asked.

She was a beautiful Lieutenant General in a striking red dress. I shook my head slowly, eyes still fixed on the carnage.

"Not at all," I replied. "It is my duty to attack when commanded."

Seraphine stepped closer and wrapped her arms around me from behind. I could feel her body trembling as she cried quietly against my back. For a long moment, neither of us spoke. Then her breathing calmed. She stepped back, looked up at my tall 6'2" frame, and gently touched my arm.

"I hope you can come back," she whispered, her voice full of emotion.

She turned and walked away, returning to her station. I kept staring out the window and murmured softly to myself, "I hope so, too…"

Outside, the fighting grew more brutal every second. More battleships surged from the fortresses. Heavy ion cannons began firing, sending massive beams of energy into the Orc ranks. But the fortresses were still holding back their full power. They were waiting… waiting for the higher-level threats on the other side of the breach.

That dreaded moment finally arrived.

Beings almost as large as the breach itself started pushing through. Seven mythical Orcs—enormous, terrifying monsters that dwarfed even the biggest battleships. The entire fleet seemed to hold its breath.

"All Master Manifold Realm Mages, deploy immediately!" the Commander shouted. "Take down those mythical Orcs!"

I took a deep breath. My red Manifold Armor began to hum in rhythm with my heartbeat. Power surged through me. Dense red manifold energy fog started pouring off my armor, making the air around me feel heavy and alive.

I turned and headed toward the mecha harbor. Every officer and soldier I passed snapped a crisp salute. Inside the busy hangar, repair crews worked frantically on damaged mechas returning from the front. Sparks flew and tools clanged as they tried to get the machines back into the fight.

I walked straight to the center of the hangar. There it was—the largest mecha. A true beast in hibernation, its red eyes pulsing with power, its steel body shining under the hangar lights.

Red manifold fibers flowed out from my body like living threads. They lifted me smoothly into the chest cockpit. This mecha was already an extension of me—its nervous system woven from my own advanced manifold yarns. I connected my hand fibers to the main yarn network. The machine roared to life instantly. Red lights flared bright, and power flooded every system.

I was the mecha now.

I maneuvered it out of the fortress with smooth confidence. A massive red-and-steel battleship emerged from a fissure behind me. It began to disassemble in mid-space, its parts locking onto my mecha like perfect puzzle pieces. Extra armor layers formed. A colossal blade appeared in my right hand. A towering shield hummed to life in my left, its kinetic-absorption field vibrating with protective manifold energy.

Now, only my crimson and steel mecha stood against the mythical Orcs.

I tightened my grip on the giant blade. "Redveil, status!" I rasped, my eyes glowing deep red.

"External batteries at 90%," the AI's cool voice replied. "I am holding the line."

The first mythical Orc spotted me and charged like a living comet. I lunged forward to meet it. Our blades smashed together with a deafening crash that sent sparks exploding in every direction. We fought like lightning—appearing and disappearing across the void, trading blows at incredible speeds.

Every clash shook the battlefield. I dodged a crushing overhead smash, spun low, and carved a glowing wound across the Orc's chest. It roared in fury and counter-attacked with wild, powerful swings. My shield took heavy hits, but I held firm. I found an opening and drove my blade deep into its side. Green blood sprayed across the stars.

With one final, mighty twist, I sliced the beast completely in two. The mythical Orc exploded in a shower of light and gore.

But there was no time to celebrate. The void tore open wider. An Orcish Sovereign—the most powerful one yet—burst through with a roar that cracked the manifold covering on my mecha.

It locked eyes with me instantly.

Its first blade swing caused gravity to collapse around us. The impact slammed into my shield with the force of a dying star. My mecha buckled hard. Metal groaned and warning alarms screamed everywhere.

The Sovereign's second blade bypassed my defenses and sliced through the mecha's shoulder. Red hydraulic fluid and mana sprayed out like arterial blood into the cold vacuum.

"Is this it?" I thought, heart pounding.

I looked past the monster toward the flagship. In that split second, my neural links sharpened, and I saw Seraphine staring at me, her eyes filled with worry and heartbreak.

I made my decision. Some victories require the ultimate price.

"Redveil… full system shunt," I commanded. "Authorize Overclock."

My entire body and the spherical manifold domain around me ignited with violent red energy. I became a terrifying crimson quasar burning in the darkness.

"Sorry, Seraphine…" I whispered one last time.

I charged straight at the Sovereign. The final collision was instant and blinding. A massive explosion of crimson and obsidian light swallowed us both. For one incredible second, a new red star burned brightly at the heart of the Boötes Reach.

Then… silence.

Tesseract Space

I floated gently in a beautiful realm made of glowing time fibers and complex manifolds. As a Newbie Tesseract Realm mage, I could see everything—the past, the present, and all the flickering possibilities of the future woven together in four-dimensional glory.

I saw my old life on Earth. The lonely hospital bed. The family I once knew.

I saw this life. My pink-haired mother who protected me. My strong mage-father who believed in me. And Seraphine, the girl who became a goddess of the galaxy and fell for me.

A wave of peace washed over me. I had done something meaningful. The fleet was pushing back the darkness thanks to my sacrifice. Humans would be safe for a long time.

A tiny newborn hand reached out toward the warm light. I smiled and extended my own large, battle-worn hand to meet it.

Maybe this is just the beginning…
