Chapter 36 - Shadow Dweller?
Kai stared at the screen as he tentatively spoke.
"Bloodlines."
The screen flashed crimson, as if it was being turned into a darker and darker hue until finally the screen looked black, but an eerie kind of black.

Kai gazed at the screen, his expression completely dumbfounded because he had just seen some kind of energy appear from thin air and pounce toward his body before suddenly changing and adapting to him.
This power was also bloodline essence, just not exactly the same color as the Genetic Transformation Bloodline.
This new Shadow Dweller bloodline seemed different.

Kai stared at the screen and spoke.
"Well... uh... this cell is useless now. I should never really use this Bloodline anymore, should I."
Kai sighed and did not wait anymore.
As he looked into his body, he controlled the bloodline essence of his original bloodline and spread it so thin that it became invisible.
But Kai could still feel it.
Then suddenly, his bloodline core cracked.
Kai's body froze before a heart wrenching scream echoed through the prison.
It was painful.
So painful.
It was as if his heart was on fire.
He was completely still. He could feel each heartbeat. Every beat burned. Every beat hurt.
Kai roared in agony, disregarding all humanity in his screams.
Kai's roars were loud.
So loud that the other prisoners screamed in agony, their ears popping as they passed out, blood leaking from them.
At the same time, alarms began screaming through the prison.
Not even seconds later, twenty people rushed down the stairs toward the cells.
They could hear the voice from nearly the top of the staircase, which was a kilometer away from Kai's cell.
Kai did not hear them coming, but he could see them.
Though his eyes were closed from pain, God Eyes was still active, allowing him to see perfectly.
Even better than normal.
He could see the mana within the twenty people's bodies swirling and the insane amount of bloodline essence bubbling within them, ready to explode with power.
Meanwhile, within Kai's body, he could see the bloodline essence he had spread thin exploding in amount while the bloodline core itself expanded and contracted violently.
Kai stared and realized his bloodline core was splitting into two.
Kai screamed in agony as he felt every crack spreading wider.
Mentally, Kai spoke.
"A Activate my reg"
His voice broke into another scream.
But the system had understood what he wanted.
[Supreme Regeneration has been activated.]
Kai could see his now massive splitting core turning into two spheres, one larger than the other.
The larger one held the same dark red color as the Shadow Dweller bloodline, while the Genetic Transformation Bloodline core held a more bluish red color.
The twenty people stared into Kai's cell.
One of them could sense mana, and what he felt made him stay as far away from the cell as possible.
The mana within Kai's cell swirled with power, entering his body at an astonishing rate.
It was even visible to the naked eye as tiny golden threads entered Kai's nose, ears, and eyes.
Kai did not even realize his mana cap had doubled because of the pain.
Kai was no longer screaming because his voice was too damaged to continue.
Instead, he growled lightly.
Without even realizing it, he had somehow infused mana into his vocal cords and throat before roaring, creating a skill.
[War Cry of Mana Level 1 : Release a guttural war cry, causing mana to favor you and flock toward you, creating an impregnable wall of mana around your body. Kai did not even know this skill existed, but it was active.
One of the twenty people moved, using his bloodline to create a small dagger of water before throwing it at Kai's foot.
But before it could even reach him, the second it passed the cell bars, the water dagger dissolved into a pebble sized sphere of mana.
The sphere turned into lines of energy and shot toward Kai.
Kai suddenly felt slightly better as the mana within his body exploded toward his skills, improving them and allowing Supreme Regeneration to give him even the slightest relief.
One of the others threw an ice lance toward Kai, not aiming at him but simply testing the situation.
Yet just like the dagger, it dissolved into mana.
This sphere was much larger, nearly the size of a beast core.
But this time, as the mana sphere turned into lines and shot toward Kai, something happened around him.
What looked like illusory golden fire appeared.
The person who could sense mana clearly saw it.
That so called fire acted like an aura skill, but it was created entirely from mana.
Meanwhile, Kai's two bloodline cores finally split completely, spinning in the same direction.
Within Kai's body, two equal forces no longer fought each other. Instead, they coexisted with the help of the massive amount of mana within him.
Kai quickly realized that the two bloodline cores released bloodline essence separately depending on the bloodline.
His Endurance also shot upward because of all the pain he had just endured.
The system spoke as emotionlessly as ever.
