"We need to visit the dungeon," Enzo said to Lucien.
Lucien nodded in agreement. Neither of them said anything else as they made their way through the palace, each lost in his own thoughts.
The situation with Adrian had become more dangerous by the hour, and Enzo knew they could no longer afford to wait.
When they reached the dungeon, Enzo ignored the guards and walked straight inside, with Lucien following closely behind.
They went directly to Josh's cell.
Josh was one of Victor's men who had been captured alongside him. He was barely alive.
His clothes hung loosely from his emaciated body, and several of his bones were painfully visible beneath his skin. He had been given just enough food to keep him alive, while the poison still circulating through his system had left him too weak to move properly.
He was slumped against the wall, his head tilted to one side.
When Enzo and Lucien entered the cell, Josh didn't move. He didn't even open his eyes.
