Chapter 83 - Chapter 83 Green Zombie

"Young Miss, you and Lord Zhang Zhu, hurry and leave! Don't mind me, bringing me along will only drag you down, and you'll all be trapped and die here! If Xiaodie can cover your retreat, even if she dies, Xiaodie will be content!" Xiaodie cried out anxiously to Zhang Xinci and Zhang Zhu.

Xiaodie, this ordinary maid, unfortunately twisted her ankle in the sudden zombie attack and chaotic battle. Normally, such an injury would heal in a few days of rest, not to mention having Zhang Zhu, a healing Gu Master, by her side.

However, at this moment, amidst the chaotic battle, Zhang Zhu's true Qi could not be wantonly expended. After all, he himself was not skilled in combat, and trying to break through successfully with two Mortals was as difficult as ascending to the heavens.

"Xiaodie, since things have come to this, what's the use of saying all this?" Zhang Xinci smiled bitterly, tightly embracing the young girl who was like a sister to her. She knew very well in her heart that given the current situation, they had no chance of escaping this calamity.

In despair, she turned to look at the middle-aged Gu Master beside her and said, "Uncle Zhang Zhu, staying here won't save us either. You are a Three-Cycle Gu Master; if you flee with all your might, these zombies shouldn't be able to stop you."

"Yes, Lord Zhang Zhu, let's break through together!" a Two-Cycle Gu Master shouted anxiously.

"If this continues, we'll really be trapped and die here! The zombies are getting more and more numerous, we can't hold on for much longer!"

There were several other Two-Cycle Gu Masters with Zhang Zhu, all of whom looked to Zhang Zhu, the Three-Cycle Gu Master, as their leader. Although Zhang Zhu's combat strength was not outstanding, with him there, these Two-Cycle Gu Masters could fight with all their might without any worries about getting injured. After all, a Third Rank healing Gu Master's healing capabilities were quite powerful.

However, at this moment, these Gu Masters were faced with two choices: abandon the two Mortal women, travel light, and increase their chances of breaking through; or uphold their promise and take them along to break through?

In fact, they all wanted Zhang Zhu to abandon those two Mortal women; as long as they survived, what kind of Mortal women couldn't be found?

Zhang Zhu's gaze fell on Zhang Xinci, and his eyes softened. Zhang Xinci was someone he had watched grow up since she was a child, and he had once promised the madam that he would protect Zhang Xinci and ensure her safe arrival at the merchant's place.

"Young Miss, I promised the madam that I would protect you on your journey to the merchant's. I will not abandon you; you are like my daughter. I cannot abandon you and escape alone. I will definitely lead the two of you to carve out a path to survival!" Zhang Zhu said firmly.

After saying that, he no longer hesitated, his gaze fiercely directed towards the direction with the fewest zombies, and then he charged forward. At the same time, he quickly extended both hands, tightly holding Zhang Xinci and Xiaodie, carrying them both as he rushed towards that direction.

Seeing this, the other Gu Masters, though somewhat helpless, could only follow closely. After all, Zhang Zhu was the strongest among them; if these Two-Cycle Gu Masters were to scatter, then they would truly be doomed.

A small team of Gu Masters, with Zhang Zhu at the center, was rushing non-stop towards a direction that seemed to have the fewest zombies. However, they did not know that this seemingly safe place actually concealed an extremely powerful zombie.

"Damn it!" a Two-Cycle Gu Master cursed in a low voice, full of resentment. "If it weren't for that feathered beast that fell from the sky, how would we have been besieged by such a group of zombies?"

The remorse and resentment in his heart were evident; if their caravan hadn't encountered that sudden attack by the Xuanyuan Divine Chicken, which resulted in most of the Gu Masters in the team being slaughtered, how would they have been so disheveled and chased by this group of zombies?

Just then, the Gu Master at the very front suddenly let out a terrified stutter: "Gr-Gr-Gr..." His voice trembled so much that he seemed unable to complete a single word.

"What are you 'Gr-ing'? Can't you speak properly!" another Two-Cycle Gu Master snapped impatiently, clearly quite displeased with his companion's performance. However, when he followed the other's gaze, he himself was also stunned by the sight before him.

A colossal zombie, three meters tall and entirely grayish-green, appeared before them like a ghost. This Green Zombie's body was extraordinarily massive, its muscles bulging, exuding a suffocatingly terrifying aura. Its face was hideous and twisted, its eyes gleaming with an eerie red light, as if it had emerged from Hell itself.

The combat power of this Green Zombie was terrifying, comparable to a Thousand Beast King, and simply beyond the ability of these Gu Masters to resist. Merely seeing its figure caused an uncontrollable fear to surge in the hearts of these Gu Masters, instantly stripping them of their will to fight.

"Green Zombie!" Someone shouted these two words, their voice filled with despair and terror. These two words struck like a bolt from the blue, completely shattering the psychological defenses of these Gu Masters.

They turned without hesitation, desperately rushing back in the direction they came from, wanting only to escape this terrifying place as quickly as possible.

"Don't run around!" Zhang Zhu shouted anxiously, his voice echoing in the air, carrying a hint of despair and fear.

However, facing such a terrifying Green Zombie, those scattered Gu Masters seemed to have lost their minds; they scurried about like headless flies, completely disregarding Zhang Zhu's warning.

The massive Green Zombie suddenly leaped, as if traversing space, instantly appearing before a fleeing Two-Cycle Gu Master. Its sharp claws were as swift as lightning, effortlessly piercing the Gu Master's abdomen, blood gushing out like a fountain.

The Gu Master screamed and fell to the ground, his agonizing wails echoing throughout the space, chilling to the bone. But the Green Zombie showed no pause; it continued its heavy strides, seeking its next target.

In just a few movements, those Two-Cycle Gu Masters fell one after another, wailing, like wheat being harvested. Their abdomens were torn open by the Green Zombie's claws, internal organs splattering, a gruesome sight.

Zhang Zhu watched this scene, his heart filled with despair. He released the two women he had been holding tightly, sweat pouring down his forehead like rain. Facing such a terrifying Green Zombie, even if he fought with all his might, he would probably be unable to contend with it.

However, things had come to this; he had no other choice but to brace himself and charge forward.

Zhang Zhu took a deep breath, mustered all his courage, and engaged in a heart-stopping duel with the Green Zombie.

But after only a few rounds, Zhang Zhu was beaten by the Green Zombie with no ability to fight back. His body was sent flying by the Green Zombie's heavy blow, crashing heavily to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood, and then he could no longer move.

Zhang Xinci and Xiaodie witnessed all this, their hearts filled with fear and helplessness. They could only tightly close their eyes, awaiting the arrival of death.
