Han narrowed his eyes slightly before letting out a quiet laugh under his breath.
"Oh my God," he muttered dramatically. "Something really did happen."
"You're overthinking it."
Jayden closed his eyes briefly and shook his head, immediately denying all of Han's assumptions. But Han only widened his eyes further, rolling them exaggeratedly as if demanding Jayden finally tell the truth. The teasing expression on his face slowly shifted into something stiffer, more serious. Beneath all the jokes, Han was genuinely beginning to worry about him.
"Am I?" Han rested his elbow against the arm of the chair while studying Jayden more carefully. "Because this is very unlike you."
Jayden released a quiet sigh.
"I simply needed help managing work," he answered calmly. "I think it's finally time for me to have an assistant."
Han stared at him for several long seconds before suddenly chuckling again, shaking his head in complete disbelief.
"You seriously expect me to believe that?"
