Suddenly, silence fell. Davey's body moved. Jin noticed and jumped back in terror, his eyes frozen, staring at Davey. Davey rose slowly, blood gushing from his body, dripping from his mouth and even from his chest. His arms hung down at his sides, his eyes lowered, and his hair fell, covering half of his face. He whispered… then a light, terrifying laugh escaped:
"Is this my end? Don't joke with me… we've only just begun."
— Activation of the technique: The Killer Flash
Jin felt a cold terror coursing through his veins. A terrifying yellow aura gathered around Davey, radiating like a dying sun, glowing and pressing the air around him until the ground beneath his feet began to crack.
Suddenly—within less than a second—Davey shot forward at insane speed, flashing like ignited lightning, and delivered a crushing strike toward Jin's head.
Jin whispered quickly, shock freezing his thoughts:
"What do I do? No time… damn it!"
Jin was thrown violently by the impact, but Davey gave him no chance to catch his breath. While Jin was still in mid-air, Davey appeared before him in another flash and delivered a thunderous punch to his chest.
Jin's body shook violently. At the last moment, he realized the attack, enveloped his hands in a dense defensive energy, resisting the blow before being launched like a human projectile toward his ancient wooden chair, which shattered into small pieces under the force of the collision.
Davey stood, excitement blazing in his eyes. He shouted in a broken voice of exhilaration, opening his hands in front of his chest:
"I want more! I want more! I want more! Show me everything you've got, Jin!"
Jin rose slowly, brushing the wooden debris off his body, a dark smile spreading across his face. He spoke in a low, pleasure-filled voice:
"Do you know the feeling of killing someone who angered you?… It's more exhilarating than I expected."
He raised his hands slowly, energy coalescing around them, and smiled a terrifying smile.
On the other side of the street, Gheib stood, looking at Shikar with cold eyes. He spoke in a low, mocking voice:
"This is a truly strange world… Tell me, why do you risk your life to protect people you don't even know? And engage in a battle whose outcome you already know?"
Gheib raised his hand toward Shikar, adding:
"Join us, Shikar. You are strong… it would be a shame if I had to kill you here."
Shikar gripped his sword hilt so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He said firmly:
"It's not necessary for me to know them to protect them… that's something people like you will never understand."
Gheib smiled coldly:
"So… that's your choice."
In an instant, he opened his arms with a sudden swift motion, and dozens of sharp energy shards tore through the air like scythes.
Shikar whispered: "There they are… I see them."
He raised his sword with immense speed, blocking the successive attacks. Steel clashed with energy, blue sparks exploding and lighting up the street. He did not stop.
He spun his body and launched a counterattack:
— "Single Sword Technique… Soul Split!"
He waved his sword in swift motions, releasing three destructive waves charged with concentrated energy toward Gheib.
Gheib watched them steadily… then waved his hand in the air. The first wave dissipated. He blocked the second with a sideways movement. But the third was the fastest.
Gheib's eyes widened for a fraction of a second, then he ducked at the last moment, letting the wave pass behind him… splitting an entire building in half with a deafening explosion.
The public screamed as they fled from the horror. Cars were smashed, and dust scattered into the sky.
Gheib moved at terrifying speed, twisting around Shikar like a lethal shadow, raising his finger toward him, whispering:
"Bang."
Shikar sensed the danger before the attack was unleashed, dodging with incredible agility.
But Gheib's smile suddenly widened.
Directly behind Shikar… the split building began to collapse. Shikar's eyes froze for a moment, terror reflecting on his face, as half of the massive building fell toward him.
He shouted: "Damn!"
He jumped quickly upward and shouted: "Single Sword Technique… Sky Split!"
He swung his sword with immense force, cutting the building into hundreds of small pieces that scattered like stone rain in the sky.
But…
While still in the air—
Gheib appeared in front of him suddenly.
A fist ignited with energy shot directly toward Shikar's face. There was no time.
The punch struck him violently, and a wave of energy exploded around them, hurling Shikar like a cannonball toward a building. He collided with the wall with crushing force, demolishing several floors, and debris fell around him amid a thick cloud of dust.
Silence prevailed for several seconds… before the sound of shifting stones was heard.
On the other side, Davey was trying to evacuate the civilians from the area:
"Please… clear the area… it's extremely dangerous!"
Then he looked toward the battlefield:
"I trust you, Shikar."
